I'm LOVING how the first person to yell NAZIIIIII!!!!! then goes on later in the thread to himself use the saying, 'call a spade a spade'. Ironic.

Since I'm sick to death of seeing this sort of jumping ALL over people for both real and imagined insults, and this after already having a go-round about not writing page-long posts JUST to explain to the person who asked the question why they should already have looked it up themselves...

That is what the report button is for! You are NOT in charge of telling people what they can and cannot say on the site! If something offends you, it's possible to do it privately through the rep system, or if it's a rule violation, through the report system.

This is ridiculous; there was NO reason to bait this fight. I understand the contemporary relevance of the quote in the OP's sig; I don't see how it is so difficult to see that, by attributing it to a person who did unethical things, the quote is any less useful in understanding how sinister governments easily sway public opinion by manipulating emotion. In fact, coming from a high-ranking Nazi, it's even a STRONGER illustration of the profound dangers of reactionary politics- mirrored in our own era by the response of the American public after the World Trade Center tragedy. How else could we have been convinced to go to war? Do you get it now?

Do I think perhaps the OP should CLARIFY that in his sig to avoid misinterpretation by folks who don't understand the relation? Hell yeah. Since this is NOT how I'd like to be spending my Monday morning.
