People are always like: you can't smoke anywhere. Lemme tell you there are people bunning joints practically everywhere! Does anyone bat an eyelid? Nope. Just walk with it or chill in vondel, just don't smoke in front of old ladies or children and it's basically all gravy.

After having lived in Holland for over 12 years I know that they are a tolerant bunch , however it is still considered bad form to smoke joints on the street.
It's something only tourists do IMO .
Outside of Amsterdam and the major cities people are divided over the relaxed attitude to soft drugs , some towns actively discourage and lobby against coffeshops on thier terrain , Noordwijk is a perfect example of such a town.
There are many in Holland who are against the coffeeshops and they use the argument that stupid pot tourists don't know how to behave, by smoking anywhere you please you just strengthen thier argument.
Unfortunately the English have a permanently tarnished rep in Europe and if you speak English then you are mostly seen as English even if you're Scottish or Irish :wtf:
I love Nederland and it's quirks.

I'll try to tread lightly Psychocat. Besides, I'm going in November, so I'll probably do most of my smoking indoors.:smokebong::smokebong:
I hadn't thought of the hash.....haven't smoked that since high school. Looking forward to blunting my munchies on some waffles too.

What would a guy set aside for food and other consumables:jointsmile: on a moderate budget for a week in amsterdam? Yeah....I'm a planner. :420thought:
Don't want to show up and not have enough to enjoy the city as it should be enjoyed........

WTF? All this talk about Holland was toooooo much. I should find out tonight if I'm making the trip. I talked to a few people and, as long as I can get the time off from school, I'll be going. Space420.... I hold YOU personally responsible
The call of those waffles is strong..... :stoned:
Oh, and I can't remember exactly... but I spent $400-600 USD over the course of around 10 days. I was judging the cup which cost A LOT if you hit over 4-5 shops per day. I had a few meals and smoke bought for me... but I also spent like $100 one night at dinner too, so..... yeah.... it's hard to give an estimate. You can definitely have an amazing time on very little money. I wasn't trying to follow a budget, so I was spending pretty freely. I would recommend you go to some coffeeshop websites and check out prices. Estimate how much you would smoke, maximum, per day and that will give you rough figure. Food is about the same price as any big city. It depends on where you eat at. The food there is sweeeeeet. Lots of variety. Although, word to the wise... Stroop is not the same as maple syrup :stoned: Seems closer to molasses. And although the cheese shops may smell funky as hell from three blocks away... that shit is maaaad good.
I'll post as soon as I know if I'm going.... do the same. Good luck!

Metal1 - Oh, I'm going.....:jumphappy: Just booked my flight 30 min ago...:rasta:
be there Nov. 15th (I land in Brussels) till the 24th.
The food IS amazing. My room comes with breakfast....ahh pickled herring and cold cuts......the European breakfast of champions. Munchies conquers all :eat:
LOVE the coffee though. It's how I became a coffee snob in the first place. I blame it on the Europeans in general. Damn them for having such good taste. How dare they challenge the bland status quo of Micky D's? :D I was likewise ruined for life on beer, mustard, chocolate and, of course, waffles avec sucre......and I'm sure I'll be similarly ruined for life on herb after this trip:smokebong: Those damn Dutch will have a lot to answer for!

I've seen "the Grey area" mentioned on here before, but haven't seen it on a map..........what is the Grey area? Sounds like the neutral zone for potheads.....

In these days of taking off of shoes and screened luggage, do you pack your own glass for a trip like this? I was just assuming I'd buy something there. What do you smoke out of at coffee shops????:smokebong: :bigsmoke: :vap_smiley:
not really a big :bigsmoke:, more of a :smokebong:. Never tried a :vap_smiley: though.
