you can compare me to everyone else in society, you can belittle my life's choices, you can argue that i am immature, irresponsible, or jsut plain lazy, but the fact of the matter is you are no better than i am. nor am i any better than you, or anyone else.
We are all human beings, but only a few of us left are actually BEING human.
Working in a prison has shown me that you can't take the jungle out of SOME people. They are the reason we have prisons and the system that puts them there. They are the uncivilized and some aren't even fully human. They care only for themselves, figuring that if it is good for them, even if it hurts others, it is good and what they should do. They are sociopaths.
If you don't believe anything else I post here believe this - life isn't fair, and the world doesn't owe you a damn thing. When you figure out how to be able to provide for yourself while doing good for society you're on track for a good life. It isn't necessarily easy, but it is real.
Being human isn't just having blood, brains, bone, and muscle. It's about being more than just alive, its about living a full, rewarding existence. If you can do that living deep in a forest in a tent, good for you and you should do it. But for the vast majority of people, greater than the 75% you mention, it wouldn't suffice. It would be a lonely and likely short life. When most people lived in such a fashion a person living into their 40's was pretty old.
If you can more fully articulate your beliefs and positions as to what human existence is, we can converse further on this issue.

being human is about everything that humans are capable of. you cannot pick and choose.
The deluded mind is affectively burdened by intellect. Thus, it cannot move without stopping and reflecting on itself. This obstructs fluidity.
Picking and choosing between good and evil, humane and inhumane obstructs our ability to move smoothly through life.
If a "sociopath" kills your family, seek vengeance, dont intellectualize it too much.
If someone steals your money, steal it back.
We do not require a middle man to handle the "dirty work" of revenge. that IS what police are for, and that is all they are for.
Politically correct revenge.
Being human doesnt mean contributing a damned thing to society, it is about experiencing everything that life has to offer; even murder.
there are no experiences that a human being can partake that are NOT human, however, to limit oneself, to decide what is okay and not okay is to limit the experience.
A Jaguar does not stop and think weather it's survival is politically correct, it does what it needs to do to satasfy it's instincts.
"civilized" Human beings, on the other hand, spend far too much time picking and choosing what experiences are allowable and what experiences should be extinguished, and that is a choice only the individual is allowed to make. no one has the right to tell another being, be it human or jaguar, what they can and cannot experience, what they can and cannot do.
If i so called derranged sociopath decides to take it upon himself and kill 500 people from a sniper tower, he is doing it for his own reasons, regardless of weather or not they make sense to anyone else. if you were in his shoes, you would too.
We ALL do everything we do based on what we know and previously experienced.
Those of us who choose to unfetter our experiences become labeled as many different things, bums, vagrants, criminals, "wastes of life" even.
and for what? what GAME are you playing? WE ALL LIVE AND DIE, so what DIFFERENCE does it make as to how we walk the path of life, from life, to death?
HOW does it matter beyond our own artificial reasons?
WE ARE ALL SOIL. that which dies makes space for new life.

I disagree with the simplification of what it constitutes to be human.
Humans come in many various guises and to attempt to quantify what makes us so varied cannot be summed up with a few sentences.
I know what I am and I am what I am because that's what I want to be.
To live a completely egotistical existence would mean the extinction of the human race , man alone is a vulnerable creature and it is only the ability to socialise that has allowed us to become the dominant species we are.
If man had never learned to work together then we would probably still be hiding in caves from the nasty critters that would just love a little human .
Even something that is considered an everyday thing like a gun has taken many people to create and develop.

Get used to the fact that man is smart enough to know the benefits of working together to remain dominant because otherwise you would be right about middle of the food chain.
If we had not learned to work together we wouldn't even be able to discuss humanity because our life expectancy wouldn't be very high, we would have no technology and the chances are we would be extinct.
A large part of being human is the ability to adapt to any situation and the intelligence to realise that in certain situations it's good to have someone to watch your back.
The urge to be top dog dominates a large section of the human race and is the reason that individuals and even countries wish to be regarded as the big Kahuna , it's as natural as pissing.
The bigger your gang and the more weapons you can front the more clout you have..
Any tribe has rules , if a member transgresses they face being expelled and losing the protection afforded by being "one of the boys".
We like to think we are extremely complex creatures , I don't think so.
We make our lives complicated .
