Hititup's plant is Hops, humulus lupulus, cannabis' first cousin. The yellow powder is the resin Lupulin, which is actually an ingredient in insomnia medications.
DO NOT -PLEASE- tell other members to smoke unknown plants!!!
Here's the plants that have true compound leaves arranged similarly to cannabis.
Here's some other mimics
Manioc (tapioca) thanks to Stickyfingahz

lol@ Freedom Fries.. what a bizarre moment in American history THAT was. I like my fries French. Most of us don't need any extra 'freedom' in our guts... :wtf: I'll have a glass of prune juice for that thx... eww. Reminds me of the Olestra fad.
Never tried manioc root. I just might have to scoot across town to the world market and pick some up. Is it prepped exactly like FF? (cut and twice-fried?) Or is there a secret? I'm on a fried rutabaga kick ever since a place opened in town that has essentially a Yankee tapas bar menu- simple finger food, cheap, featuring lots of root vegetables and coarse breads. Yum yum.
On this list, that makes 2 delicious plants that happen to resemble pot! Cool.
so what does fried rutabaga taste like? and where can you usually find manioc roots for cooking?
hititup: My question is: Why didn't you just ask the guy you saw tending his plants, what they were? My guess is, someone said smoke it, because it isn't yours and you should leave other people's things alone! Smoke it and choke. It is not yours! I cannot understand why you did not talk to the person there! Instead, lurk behind a bush until he left?? I bet not too many would be happy to find their stuff missing. It obviously, was not abandoned or yours! Did the tendor happen to have a double barrel shot gun with him. If so, I'd stay away. If not, I think Storm Crow told it best! Do not smoke it! Be safe and grow your own!Quote:

Rutabaga gets sweet and earthy when it's cooked, kind of like turnips but I think rutabaga tastes better.
I'd check ethnic markets for manioc root.
