i dont know much about growing but it doesnt make sense that a window sill can get 12 hours of sunlight... speaking theoretically the sun will be half of the time on 1 side of the earth and the other half (of 24 hours) on the other side of the earth so... im just going out on a limb here and assume the roof of your house would end up blocking half the the 12 hours that the sun is actually on our side of the earth... so at max 6 hours of sunlight? and part of which is indirect sunlight that keeko said was useless. ionno im kinda drunk soooo it made sense to me :wtf:
edit: i had no idea i wrote that much... sorry if its useless
First off.. I dont really care about the technicalities of what was said, if it doesnt get 12 hours of light, i put it under a light... ANy other comments about what is happening... I am starting to see some new grow coming from the nodes apart from the new branches. It looks like only one sac on each side, but I cant be sure Ill post some pics when I can.
you Flame War-Zors.
BOTTEM LINE IS WINDOW GROWS SUXX THE BALLS OFF A BRASS MONKEY If you don't live directly ON the equator or decently close too it theirs no point of trying. Also, i find it hard to imagine what shape a window would have 2 be to get 12hours of sunlight a day. Again, it wont produce anything worth your time for the most part. Part of me just doubts anyone can be "satisfied" with the results from this, sorrys 2 be rude. good look & nice form on the plant OP, try getting a fan in their and maybe a chop stick && a HPS while your at it.
But that is exactly my question, will it even produce anything??? LIKE I said before, if it does not get 12 hrs of light then I put it under a light. What else should I do.
Thanks for everyone's comments
I'm pretty new to all this, but I have been doing a lot of reading lately. First, how many 23w cfl's did you veg that thing under? I'm really interested in the potential of cfl's on small scale gardens. Second, I don't believe you will be satisfied with the results of a window grow. As others have said, the amount of light received in a window sill will not be enough to supply the plant. If it does initiate a flower cycle, it will most likely stretch and produce poor, loose buds... that's if it doesn't Herm. Also, in my opinion, the transfer from window sill to dark box (for 12 hours of total dark) will be an unnecessary stress on the plant. Since you are already using cfl's... I would suggest constructing a small flowering box and use additional cfl's. All you need to make one is a day off and a home improvement store nearby. Read through some Sticky's about how much light plants need, the spectrums they desire, etc.
If you do go for a 100% indoor flowering process... make sure you look for the CFL's rated 2700k (usually Soft White) as they are more appropriate for flowering. It wouldn't hurt to throw in 1-2 of the Daylight 6500k CFL's too... plants like both spectrums just at different levels and at different growth stages. I've read a 3:1 ratio is good. I understand it can be frustrating when asking questions on here. Especially when you just want to know if what you are doing is going to work. Just know that there are thousands of people doing thousands of different things... with thousands of individual experiences. So they may not fully understand what you are looking to achieve. I've found that if you aren't completely obsessed with growing and just want to try your luck and grow ANYTHING smokable.... just post a thread saying, "Hey, I have no money or supplies... can I flower a plant in a window sill?"
And people will tell you....... their opinion..... lol
Remember 1,000 people can tell you it won't work, but that doesn't mean you can't give it a try and shut all of our stupid asses up. Haha. Hope this helped. Have fun and keep it green! :rasta:
Damn... I write a lot.
I dont mean to be an ass but can you please start your own thread... I dont see that what you said has anything to do with my grow. I also just noticed today, white hairs at some of the nodes, so im guessing that the plant is female... Ill get some pics up when I can.
Thanks everyone
Ok. I don't mean to be an ass... but ahh... nevermind... I do mean to be one.
You: "will it even produce anything??? LIKE I said before, if it does not get 12 hrs of light then I put it under a light. What else should I do.

Me: "Since you are already using cfl's... I would suggest constructing a small flowering box and use additional cfl's. All you need to make one is a day off and a home improvement store nearby."
I apologize for including additional information on what lights you might need... I realize now that it was extremely out of line. Trust me, I will abandon interest in anything you are doing in the future, and I will try not to let my text come into your threads from now on. I understand your frustration. It really sucks when you ask for help and a bunch of assholes try to give advice.
Quote: "First off.. I dont really care about the technicalities of what was said."
Maybe you should find a new hobby if you don't care about technicalities. Finger painting is pretty self explanatory.
P.s. I will send you a bill for the 3 minutes I just wasted.
Well Im sorry that I didnt realize that you had posted something that contributed to the thread. I apologize, it was on a previous page, so I didnt know that you had already done this.
It's cool. I just watched a video that Stinky linked in a post called, "How to behave on an internet forum." It was really good and funny. You're right, no matter what I say... it's your thread... your rules. If you thought I was de-railing the thread, you have every right to ask me to go elsewhere. I'm kinda new to all this and didn't realize how easy it is to throw off the entire topic. Not fair to the OP. Take it easy... Keep
