50 ng, 20ng, 15 ng pre emp UA - thoughts and experiences

60 days clean (tested (-) at day 39), minor lapse, will be 20 days from that day until the test. So, 80 days, with one minor lapse.

Tested (-) at 50 ng 4 days after lapse with dil. tested (-) 10 days after lapse w/o any dil. on first void of day

Figuring 100 ng level after lapse, 10 days would put me at 50, another 10 days at 25, which will be when my test is. should be able to dil. below 20 with a minor dilution, don't you think FBR?

I have a private test scheduled for tomorrow at 20 ng.

anyway, the employer told me it is a "DOT" type test, and i called teh facility and they told me this employer tests at 50 ng. unless i am completely being bullshitted and they ninja me, i should be just fine even without dil. on the 50 ng.

I have a sort of similar situation except I already have the job. Before I got this job 3 years ago, I quit smoking and now only smoke when our plant shuts down for christmas and new years. Unfortunately for me, I had a close friend to die that I hadn't seen in a while so I went to be with his brother and parents for a couple of days. This was in early June, and I hadn't smoked anything since Dec. 23rd 2008. On thursday night, I smoked with his brother. I took 3 hits from a pipe thursday, 3 more from a joint on Friday, and 3 more hits from a joint on Saturday. So a total of 9 hits in 3 days. Ofcourse I knew better than to do it, but I hadn't had a random in 8 or 9 months. Well I'll be DAMNED!!! At twelve days of clean time, they tested everybody in the freakin plant. They had a big sign above the time clocks, if you leave, you're fired. That's never been done before in the history of this place. I flipped out completely. Fortunately for me, I found out about this very early in the process (right place, right time, and lucky) I found out before my boss did, and told him my wife was in labor and I had to leave right away. (they know she really is prego, and really is due anytime) I know, it's terrible Karma, but I had the card so I played it. Beats getting fired, and forclosed etc etc. That was Thurs June 18, and we were closed due to economy on Friday, so I got the whole weekend to worry. I didn't do anything to alter or detox, just working outside and sweating like mad. June is murderous in Alabama. I had to make up the test on Monday when I went back. I had 15 complete days of clean time, and drank a very unreasonable amount of water prior to testing. Since my boss trusts me and just told me to go make up the test and didn't escort me to the HR office like they normally do for randoms, I was able to get out of sight for a while and drink and drink and pee either 3 or 4 times before I gave the sample. So I probably had a total of 6 or 8 good trips to the john that day before being tested. I don't know if drinking the water helped or not, but I felt very comfortable about my chances of getting a retest if the lab rejected it for being diluted. Certainly much more comfortable than not trying to dilute. The slip of paper HR gave me after she collected my sample says "MedTox Non-Regulated 5 Part Drug Testing Custody and Control Form". I think "Non-Regulated" is the keyword, hopefully meaning 50 ng/ml. I'm not sure about the rest, it says 5 part, not 5 panel. I didn't think of this until now, but I wonder if a very diluted sample is cause to subject the sample to a more advanced test rather than just simply rejecting it? Crap, I hope not.

So far, no news is good news. I gave the sample on Monday, and as of the end of my shift on Thursday, I still have a job. Surely they have my results back already, but then again, they tested about 400 or 500 people, so it may take longer than normal. If I get out with my skin on Friday, I'll be so relieved. I can't believe I was dumb enough to smoke, I have a baby on the way. I had fun those nights talking with my friend's brother and telling stories, but GOD the stress I've been under the last week. And this stress is nothing at all compared to the stress of having to tell my wife I've lost my job, and all the stress that will come from losing my income and insurance. I don't really make alot of money, but i'm lucky to have what I do.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE SMOKING EVEN A LITTLE AT ALL IF THEY THINK THEY EVEN MIGHT HAVE TO TAKE A TEST OF ANY KIND.

Please don't forget about the possiblility of an on the job accident as well. You will be tested then too. It's the nature of an accident to happen without any warning, and to be a total surprise. Sh!# happens. Try to make sure you don't lose everything you own just because of an accidental finger cut or something.

Sorry for the long post, I've been really stressing this. Surely they have my results back by now and I'm good. It was only 9 hits in 3 days, with 6 months clean before that. Somebody please reply,and thanks for reading.
