How much room do the roots have in that res? Do they ever outgrow that?
JeffersonBud,
Heres a few pics of the roots from her...as yet they havent overtaken the containers...

Tree, you experiment TOO fuckin' much ... does NATURE move her plants up and down in the soil, etc to 'build roots' ?? ... gets harder and harder to figure out your problems, when ya keep changing the grow methods ... you need to get a hobby, my friend :D
Nature also doesn't inject the plant through hydroponics either but it seems to be the ticket. I agree though in saying that it will be hard to determine a problem though. maybe doing side by side comparisons might be better and take the nest method as your standard. That is if you have the room.
Oh, and nice roots!
hydroponics does not 'inject' anything into the plants, it only provides a readily-available source of nutrients, so the roots don't have to go searching ... the plant will only absorb and use what it is capable of ... I'm just too 'old-school', I guess ... I had it pounded into me, that ya never expose the roots to light, ya just don't fool with the roots ... STRESS ... let's compare: 'my old-fashioned way' = almost all females, (rare for me to get a male), no diseases, never killed a plant ... 'your experimental ways' = lots of males, sick plants, and one just mysteriously died ... nothing wrong with experimenting (we all do it), but 90% of the time, the experiments only serve to feed your curiosity, and do nothing for the plants ... plants prefer to grow 'naturally' ... as I often preach, "imitate Nature" ... :smokin:
I didn't mean inject in the literal sense.;)
most have to expose the roots to change thier dwc res. I try temporarily store them in a dark place while doing that in another room.

I cant say my 3 males were a result of my ways...just the luck of the draw as out of 5 THUNK seeds 3 were females,1 died, 1 male.. and I am doing things the way I always do.....my plant dieing, thats another story...I think I explained what may have happened there as well...with it sinking down into the water of the container more than it should have...Who knows for sure...but I am prepared as I have a bigger bucket if it starts looking like the NCDG did...
We all try "imitate Nature" in our closets...to try and grow the best plants we can in our self made environments...thats why I tried to make my plants develope a robust root system, instead of wasting time in growing taller, why not increase the root mass which will develop in my thoughts better bud(s) and sites..as well as a shorter and stockier plant to accomadate the small cabinets/closets we grow them in...
