hehe thanks :D i was really nervous at first, coz ive never played in front of loads of people like that.. but there were loads of people i know there, and loads of people i know from bands that play around the island, so it was all good :D
Don't learn any more covers and write as many songs as you can during your jams. Just write anything you can think of and experiment with it. You'll end up throwing away many bad songs, but you'll get a couple great ones in the process.
That's the advice I wish my band got.
my band " D Y S I L L U S I O N " has out first gig on april fools day
wish me luck haha
i play lead guitar and back up vocals
Hey GHoSTy, glad the gig went okies - what a rush, init lol
Yeah, good advice...but even if you only do covers for the time being, try and put your own spin on them - you know, there's nothing worse than listening to renditions of old songs - mainly because people will compare YOUR BAND directly with the original band's efforts, geddit.Quote:

Keep it going, dude :D
Dude
You will intime find your feet and what was once nerves becomes your ability to feed off the crowds and have a better gig. Can take a while, but you'll get there man.
Dont forget being in a band is an excellent way to pick up ladies!!! Worked for me!
What bass you got? Take a look (one of) my babies. Made it myself.
funken monken, thats gorgeous! good work, bro!
this is the bass i have.. its not the best, but i didnt plan to be playin the bass for that long lol its an Ibanez GSR 200
cheers for the advice, guys.. like i said earlier, we had to do a load of covers for different reasons, mainly coz nobody planned for us to actually become a band and do gigs, it was just a bunch of guys jamming.. our guitarist, S, is moving to Australia in March, sadly.. but when he leaves our mate, F, is gonna join the band and we'll start writin stuff and takin it a bit more seriously then..
