My HPS is connected with oder fluo lights on a timer . Timer is set on 12/12 . When the lights need to turn off , it's done properly.
when they need to go on..... fluo lights turn on, but hps stays off !!
Does someone have or had same or similar problem ? ? ?
If you want to troubleshoot your problem, more information is needed.
Please explain the exact sequence of how the electrical is run, starting with your timer. (does the timer have two outlets, or do you go from the timer to a power strip then to the lamps? I don't need to know the minute details, just what goes where. Then I can walk you through a couple steps and we can probably locate your problem.
First things first though - you should take your electrical switches, power strip etc and move them up and off the floor. Otherwise, first time you spill some water you can easily damage your electrical stuff.

Hey DreamerGirl7, Plants look nice. I noticed in your photo's that there were no reflectors on your light's. From what i've read your losing alot of light by not reflecting the light off the top of the bulb back down to the plant's. You could make some homemade ones if you can't find them where you are, it would be better than nothing. I don't know how big your CFL's are but I saw somewhere on the web how to make them for smaller bulb's out of alum. cans. I'm just a beginner is this also, Isn't if fun? Nothing like having stuff you grew yourself.
You have a point ! :thumbsup:Quote:

First of all, take the cord to your power strip out from under the cabinet. This has nothing to do with your problem, but that is a bad place for it.
What you should do is go from your timer to a new power strip then put plug ends on the cords for both of your lights and plug both your lights into the power strip. Can you get another power strip and one more cord end (plug)?
With everything the way it is now, are you able to turn the 400w light on at all?
