I say you should use it with no water all the time. Water bongs filter more THC out of the water then they do tar. Adding water is basically just throwing weed away... unless you think the taste effect from the filtration is worth the weed your losing. The net result is an increase in the amount of tar per hit (and a decrease in the amount of THC/cannabinoids per hit). And in my experience tar doesn't taste very good... I like the taste of pipe smoke much more then water bong smoke.Quote:

I personally like using long glass pipes. The longer the pipe, the cooler the smoke gets before it hits your throat and lungs (and the less harsh the smoke). A nice long bong without water is an excellent pipe if you ask me.
Here is the original study by NORML and MAPS on the results of water filtration.
MAPS/CaNORML vaporizer and waterpipe studies
The point, the essence of a bubbler, is that it's a water pipe. You are defeating the purpose. You could easily just hide it in the back of a closet, put some clothes to cover the view, then dump the water when the time is convenient. Having said that, bubblers need to be cleaned. Are you 18 and your parents don't know? Tell them and stop this madness. Oh if everyone was as liberal as I
That is absolute bollox. That study sucks. Water pipes do not filter out more thc then carcinogens. That is a ludicrous claim which you should back up with more then that study if it were true. You don't inhale more tar, you inhale less then a normal pipe ffs, adding water is not throwing your weed away!!!!!Quote:

I didn't say you inhale more tar from the water bong. I said you inhale more tar *per amount of THC inhaled* in the water bong. There is a big difference. If you smoke the same amount of weed in a pipe and a water bong you'll get more tar from the pipe. However, you'll get more THC from pipe also. You'll have to smoke more in the bong to get the same level of "high" producing chemicals you get from the pipe. And since more THC is filtered out by the water then tar, eventually you'll have to smoke more weed to get the same amount of THC (and in the process you'll have inhaled more tar then the original pipe smoke).
The study says water filters out more THC then it does tar. That's all I'm saying. If you disagree, then fine. But at least show a study or something if you have one. Otherwise, I'll go with the NORML study.
