Jesus wants an army, and the bible is the book of war
Well, another one of these religion argument threads.... But, I can't help myself. There are many scriptures in the Bible that taken out of context are sexist, racist, homophobic, endorse slavery, polygamy, genocide and human sacrifice. But, when you actually look at those verses in context, they say the same thing. On my myspace blog, I have a very long list, but it took me about three hours to write it. Human sacrifice? Oh yes. More than once, to the God of Abraham.

well slave don't quite agree with your thinking, or yours chong. But thats okay. Angry Nomad you are looking in the right spots and making up your own mind, thats what I did. All is not "right" in the bible, at least not to/for the way we have to live now. But again it's there for interpretation. I think it was desighned that way. But again what do I know. I'm just a spiritual being. I believe in Science and Religion both. I just wish we could all just get along. Someday we will have to just to survive!

If people want to believe in an invisible man that lives in the sky, that watches every human being on earth and knows every thought they think, and impregnated a 13 yo virgin and loves everybody at the same time is the god of vengence etc, etc, have at it, to each his/her own. I'll take quantum physics, thank you.

My problem with God is why does he not heal Amputees? He says that if two or more of you gather in his name, he will answer your prayer. Get a deserving person who has had both of his legs amputated. For example, find a sincere, devout veteran of the Iraqi war, or a person who was involved in a tragic automobile accident. If possible, get millions of people all over the planet to join the prayer circle and pray their most fervent prayers. Get millions of people praying in unison for a single miracle for this one deserving amputee. Then stand back and watch. What is going to happen? Jesus clearly says that if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. He does not say it once -- he says it many times in many ways in the Bible.
And yet, even with millions of people praying, nothing will happen.
No matter how many people pray. No matter how sincere those people are. No matter how much they believe. No matter how devout and deserving the recipient. Nothing will happen. The legs will not regenerate. Prayer does not restore the severed limbs of amputees. You can electronically search through all the medical journals ever written -- there is no documented case of an amputated leg being restored spontaneously. And we know that God ignores the prayers of amputees through our own observations of the world around us. If God were answering the prayers of amputees to regenerate their lost limbs, we would be seeing amputated legs growing back every day.

Hopefully, we will evolve into having that capability, ourselves.

Hi twoguys, the general theory is that Mary was thought to be around 13 when she became "with child" supposedly by the holy spirit, although this appears only in two of the gospels both of which had political/recruiting agendas, sorry, have to go but will discuss more later if you like.

I thought that the secret, the Freemasons kept, was that God came as a woman, also. In Mary Magdalene. Something about proving the entire Catholic religion false.
