Will you pay your taxes on legalized weed?

I would happily pay taxes on weed purchased from conventional businesses, but I wouldn't pay taxes on any other transactions (buying from friends, etc). Tax evasion is not so much a problem if you are not a business owner and don't keep records. If you were living in a really expensive home or a high scale apartment, and driving a BMW, and there's no way your regular job could afford you such lavish lifestyle, then maybe that would bring on the scrutiny.

If it's needed to get high, then I would suck it up and pay the taxes. As a grower I wouldn't be worried about such things anyhow. They would probally have some sort of tax system for growers as well so if it becomes legal a lot of people will still grow illegally if it was taxed im sure.

That's actually a good point. At least here in the States, the government is not allowed to tax medicine. That's what's going to make legalized cannabis more of a difficult thing for the government to deal with than tobacco or alcohol. If fully legalized to the extent that we want, it would be the only popular drug marketed for both pharmaceutical and recreational uses. My guess is that if it were legal, we would be paying taxes on it at the convenience store but not at the pharmacy.

To tell you the truth... I probably wouldn't pay them if they were rediculously high. But if they are reasonable, then yeah, since those little dollars are alot better than the big dollars of a possible need to pay your own bond.

Another problem the government would have with legalized weed is the fact that it's so easy for anybody to grow it in their own house. The government can't tax you on plants you're growing in your basement or on your windowsill, so my guess is a lot of people would go that route, especially if they already have a set-up.

I'd pay them, in the end the legalized price plus taxes would most likely be significantly less than what one pays now (when its illegal).

I would gladly pay taxes on it to eleminate the risk of it, legality wise.

no because the U. S. was always against Marijuana. why let them benifit from it pluss then they would try to arrest the growers for tax evasion or sum dumb shit like that. Let them keep taxing thier holy tobbacco and see how much profit they make from it once weeds legal.
