Oh yeah, I know. I think they are different, too. All I am saying is that some people believe OBE's are lucid dreams, and that you can have an OBE within a lucid dream - although, it then becomes hard to differentiate between dream and reality in that method.Quote:

hmm.. that discourages me. I WISH i could remember what i dream about. I Can never remember what i dream about ever.. theres the random dream i get about once a month i SOMETIMES remember the dream.. then most times i remember it when i first start to wake up.. then when i am fully awake i forget it or i can only remember bits and pieces of it..
PROS: No nightmares, or night "terrors".
Cons: No sweet dreams, no nothing. I never remember having an erotic dream. i just don't remember it or i only remember bits and pieces of dreams.
So what im going to ask is : Is there any advice or techniques you can use to remember dreams, and to enter a really lucid dream..
one time i had a dream that me and my friend went to a slipknot concert on the moon =] ahaah and i have had a reoccurring dream in my younger years, were i was getting chased around by a witch in my grandmas house while the house was burning.. i always made it out safely, but by the third time i had the same dream,, i knew like exactly what to do.. is that lucid OR i don't know..
edit: I remember my mom telling me she had a dream where she felt paralyzed and she felt the sheets tighten as if something was coming from under the beds and was pulling on her blankets trying to climb up the bed. and the blankets were loose and then all of a sudden they went tight.. as if some thing was pulling them.. then she screamed and then i guess she woke up and her gramma came in and told her she was dreaming but my mom said she thought it was actually really happening.. she always told me she was thinking about her new friend who was sleeping in a differnelt like house or hut ( she lived on a farm. and they rented out like little house or somehting????) and she said to her self" i wish my friend was here" and when she opened her eyes, she saw a hand reach around her door then a head looked into her room from her doorway and it was her best friend.. but she was all pale and looked evil.. like it was her freind.. but it wasnt kinda like the girl from the movie exorcist (all white and pale looking) then my mom screamed and the girl disappeared..
My Mom also said before she went to bed.. she thought of subjects that she would dream about.. and it usuually worked.. my mom always dreams
and all these stories happened wen she was a child so.. she wasn't on like any drugs or anything..
she always tells me about her dreams.. she remembers them. every night.. she could tell me about what she dreamed about if she wanted to.

Yeah, I read that article about the researchers giving people OBEs. Interesting stuff. I doubt OBEs are real, except in the sense that they may *feel* real. It's just the brain tricking itself, similar to what those researchers duplicated, making you feel as if your 'self', the point of view of where 'you' are, feel as if it is outside your body.
There would be some easy ways to test the legitimacy of OBEs. The important thing is that the test be reproducible. Take a person who says they can OBE themselves. Put a book in the room next door, open to a random page. Have the OBE person leave their body and memorize, say, the ninth sentence on the left page in the book one room over, then reenter their bodies and say what that sentence is. Unfortunately, nobody can do this, or anything even similar, which is what leads me to believe that it's just our brain tricking itself.
One of my best friends is into this stuff, like astrology n meditation and the astral plane. Frankly, i couldn't care less. Meditation's kool though but i don't buy into transits from astrology. He says when we dream we're on the astral plane. Whatever, i dunno and i don't care.

No, no, no, no, He's outside looking in.
Timothy Leary's dead.
No, no, no, no, He's outside looking in.
He'll fly his astral plane,
Takes you trips around the bay,
Brings you back the same day,
Timothy Leary. Timothy Leary.
