Although U2 maybe annoying, you can't deny the longevity they've enjoyed. They're still together with original members and original Manager. They've won 22 Grammy's, more than any other rock band. I can totally see how a lot of their music wouldn't appeal to people as a lot of it is overplayed and some of it , never played.
For me though, it'd be Staind,Linkin Park and Alanis Morissette... They give my ears pain.

I hate michelle branch. all her songs sound the same and shes got that "i smell poo" look perpetually on her face. we made a joke abt simple plan and good charlotte. we were @ the movies, and there were these little 15 yr old emos eyeliner and everything, i said OMG i love good plan and simple charlotte too! Yall should have seen their faces. it was highlairous. i think it took em 15 min to get it
