Well lil' piff's father was a mix I almost positive(50/50) but to me it was a dro(indica) real classic dro taste.....But its mother the seed from that dime I got MAN THAT PLANT TOOK FUCKING FOREVER TO BUD....AND IT STILL REALLY DIDN'T BUD...LOL I was kinda mad at it....It was born in Jan. 2007 and I smoked it in June...I swear man I never had a plant take that long I had to keep it in that dark for longer time then the others I went threw like 2 harvest before I smoked it It was all big and skinny it took up most of the room, but grew really quick but after that I felt like it was the long ride home(when it budd)....But it was strong tho very skimpy tho :( the strain I've been growing for awhile is really easy for me to grow..the grow fast and bud pretty quick,...

Yeah man... I used the hermi with the female...but the seeds I got from the girls most of them were females, but I grew a boy(the father of my plants now) So I was confused cause I thought a hermi and female make all girls and hermi...not a full grown boy plant but When I crossed that boy with the females.... I have been getting all female seeds so far...I'm waiting for a boy to grow out the batch(I need'em for more seeds)
My friend who stole the seeds from that lab studies "genetics" some CSI shit but she said something like when the seeds start to turn or get color or strips at the begining they have the "recessive gene"...which are suppose to be female becuase of some hormone that hasn't taken over she said seeds will be smaller and she said if you wait until the end of your harvest to get the seeds the seeds will be larger but they will be "dominate gene" the are most likely to be male because of that hormone.... she also said the "dominate gene" seeds will have the treats of its father and the "recessive gene" seeds will have treats of both parents but more of the mother......people don't yell at it this is what i was told... So when I grow seeds I take the boy pollen from the boy, I use a paper clip to pollenate the female hairs as soon as I see them really coming out...I wait until the female buds a little bit after half way into its budding before I start pulling seeds...I always pull one to see how it looks...then I wait and pull some more(they should come off easy..don't pull them if they aren't ready) and that's what I do.....so NO ONE start yellin at me this is what I was told and out of 9 plants 7 girls...

You're right, a hermi makes all girls- the male you got from the plant you pollinated with hermi pollen probably came from excess pollen left over from a male or something.

Your friend should not be risking her job, or the research the lab is working on. I run a research lab at a University and feel very strongly about this. REsearch ethics are not something to be taken lightly. Fucking with the materials can jeopardize the project. That's NOT cool.

I'm not yelling at you... She, however, is not only a thief, but full of shit to boot. Pattern and color and size of a seed are strain dependent and have nothing to do with gender. That is a myth. Furthermore, gender is determined by the presence or absence of a Y chromosome- that's all! The reason hermi pollen from a female makes all female offspring is that the MALE contributes the Y, and any F-F crosses do not have it.

Paper clip technique is good.
Don't bother pulling seeds- I let my seed crops ripen on the plant and at harvest time, hang them over a lasagne pan to catch seeds as they fall out, and the ones that don;'t fall out, I knock out during the second trim- the manicure, when I remove anything sticking out and making the buds look less pretty.

I'm sorry people I don't want to confuse anyone...sticky,reaper,mark I won't use Dro or Haze terms...I now know I am wrong for that...I know....Yes I am a young stoner kid, yes the language my generation uses for things can be confusing but I know someone understands what I'm talking about(probably in my age group) I don't believe the names what the dealers tell us but I have smoked enough buds(hippy weed competitions) to try to make some difference between them....I try I would not be in this guessin mess if I new the strains I had...:(
And to Mark I started growing Ari the a while then a hippy gave me northern lights( nice plants but I nuked them when they started budding)..then I got the seeds from the lab then came my seed from that piff I got thus my 6 years......I try and use many different techquines from piss for N, potting soil outside dirt from compost to sunlight,HID,CFL'S, egg shells in water, bone meal,peat moss outside rain/snow...tap water,fertz from grandma gardens...vingar and baking soda(Fake CO2) But in all I do pretty well when it comes to taking care of plants .....I never really read too much about strains but more on the process of growing and its stages...I just want a strain that I know what it is...I'm tired of growin not knowing what I'm going the only thing I can do is compare the weed I grow to what I have smoked.....And I'm soory for the use of wrong terms
