What he was saying is similar to the idea that your soul lingers forever and you are a conscious being in a non-tangible body which is NOT fact. What I think happens is the constituents of our bodies and minds are simply recycled into nature by decomposition and basically "reincarnated" (not in the mystical sense) by being turned into essential building blocks for other organisms.
