I must say the santa mosh was amazing... I made a santa mosh poster back in highschool lol, it was to promote a local show, it got taken down cause school administrators thought "sxe" stood for sex not straight edge.Quote:

The way you dance at a show doesnt define the style of the band nor how good they are, they way people dance litterally varies from city to city/state to state. I've been to shows all over and the kids in NH can't dance for shit compared to the kids in MA, no matter what bands are playing. I've even ben to venues where no one danced to bands that usually have everyong on the floor moving.Quote:

Circle pits>Any kind of dancing. I was at a fucking Hatebreed show, and NO one knew what a circle pit was. Same thing with FBC. Same thing with some other shitty "hardcore" bands. Whatever happened to real hardcore. Now all we have is breakdowns and two stepping.
There are some out there, they are just few and far between, hardcore is on a downward slope along with hiphop and everything else that was ever good, mainly because of corporate takeover ruining the genre. It happens tho and I intend on sticking to the lifestyle cause its always been a huge part of my life and it has made me some of the best friends anyone could ever ask for... "Friends, Family, Forever"
Even the supposed "good" hardcore is annoying. I forgot who it was, but it was at this year's Stillborn Fest, and most of the opening bands were all "good and true" hardcore. Every 5 fucking seconds you have some dumbass doing that little lion walk and having a really stupid smirk, then they punch air and whatnot.
Man sounds like the scene sucks where ever you are, you should check out the local boston scene, come to a bane show man, it'll change your life!
I agree those of you who say it going downward, your in the wrong place. This shit started in the 80's with Slayer, old metalica, they said it was dumb and dying then look at it now twice as big twice as many bands. You may be getting banged up and lossing face but with bands like Soulfly, Slayer, Hatebreed, Machinehead, Hoods, Cannibal Corpse, and new bands forming every day It will never die. Some people are warriors and need to get hit.Quote:

I think it looks funny as hell and to some one whos never seen it, when some one "picking change" or doing a "windmill" gets hit it is devisting. Which is the whole point of the mosh pit to see how much you can take and how much you can dish out:pimp: :pimp: :pimp: Oh RIP Pantera
i have been in and out of the local hardcore scene in MA since about 97. I know thats not old school, but some shit HAS changed. the punky edge has been replaced with detuned grindcore, all the music has been seperated into differenrt genres of "core". It's not about the music anymore it's all scene, and which band has the most people coming to the show, and these kids don't even like heavy music. Trendy assholes who just go to shows because it might be "cool". It was never COOL to listen to hardcore, i used to get picked on because i liked metal, and hardcore, but you show up at a show, you know your with family. That if any bad shit went down, evryone has eachother's back. NOW Their is this gang/ band what ever, who call themselfs f.s.u. witch stands for fuck shit up. All they do is try and start fights at shows so they can call their boys to stomp them 10 to 1.
Back when club 121 in brocton was open. I saw hatebreed, blood for blood, xxl, brawl park, no regret, punch the clown, and a whole bunch of other bands. the most you would have to pay..... is 7$ MABEY if like hatebreed was playing. now they want 12$ to see some REAL crappy local band that may or may not be hardcore.
sorry for the long post.
