I find taking big hits on stone pipes will burn your lips....cause the heat travels (assuming its a small pipe). Glass pipes give good hits and they are easier to clean.
Also i prefer glass over stone because when i used to have a stone pipe...i would tap it with a lighter to get rid of the ashes, and the stone would chip :(.

The main reason that glass pipes are better is because they are alot larger so u get a smoother hit,.. less heat on your throat ect,...[ i havnt seen any body making 7 inch stone pipes]
