I wouldn't doubt Bush wants Iran. Probably for the same reason he wanted Iraq. Not for oil or money though, for something far simpler. He wants it for his ego. Bush knew coming into this job that he was going to fail. So, he wanted that one shining start to hang above his presidency. He figured he'd have it with Iraq. Sure, he may have done nothing domestically, but he would go down in history as the guy who took out Saddam and turned Iraq into a happy, peaceful, Mid East democracy. We all know how badly that fantasy has turned out so now he's looking for that next potential star. "Iran??? Hmmm. Maybe..."
Not likely to happen though. Not unless Iran does something so stupid that we would all agree that they need to be taken down. And when I saw "we all" I mean the rest of the world too. There's no way the Dems would let him go play soldier in another desert. Doubtful his own party would let him at this point. My guess is that if Bush were to try and pull the "I'm The President so I make the decisions" bit again he'd be standing on the side of Pennsylvania Ave, trying to hitch a ride back to Texas, faster tha you could say "impeachment".
