Dang! I guess ya saw me! :D
It takes me 10-20 shots to get a "keeper." And they fall generally into two categories: a) trichs like mad; or b) artsy-fartsy.
Ex. A: [attachment=o227201] [attachment=o227202]
Ex. B: [attachment=o227203] [attachment=o227204]
I'm sure you'll develop your own techniques. I have the best luck steadying the subject bud with my left hand, and depressing the "shutter" button with my right index finger, like target shooting. And "follow-through" seems important; I get better shots when I try to stay on target even after the pic is snapped. :rambohead:
What else... well, I've not had good results shooting offhand at higher magnification than 100x.
Access to the memory card seems slow via my USB, so I just load the whole card to the computer and view/delete them there. I can't tell what I've got till I see 'em big on the monitor anyhow. But it's great for really looking at trich ripeness. May come in handy for ya A/B testing with UV and all.
Big kids need toys, too. For me, back to the salt-free mines for now. :(
Enjoy, brah. Hermie

So it appears that showing up unannounced would be a particularly bad idea.
But Homie III, smells like skunks humping grapefruits and has 8 colas the size of my fist!
The bright side is that Homedawg the 3rd is living up to expectation.
Maybe you can buy them off. Twist up a few, put them in a clear baggie, hang them from the plant. Then Iâ?¦.I mean theyâ?¦.might just accept the deal.
Iâ??ve included my picture so that youâ??ll know me when you see me.

Iâ??m wearing black in mourning your recent losses.
Proximo vez,

After my last move (which I am reconsidering at this point). Of course, sometimes the wife "pretties up" the board--if pieces get unevenly bunched up, she'll move them around until the board's aesthetically pleasing to her. She likes things "evenly distributed." :wtf:

Pretty close,
'cept for my
"K - QKn 2"
From post # 248.
That would be why it's not really a check:)
(The Chech is in the male)
So, if ya did move your knight there, Black would probably pin it to the rook with his bishop, see?
White needs to pressure black's pawn at Qkn3 but is short on tempo.
What to do?
Ready to switch sides yet?:)
Have had little time to play with the new toy :(.
Still piecing together an alarm from ebay parts.
I want something slick enough that I won't need a sturdy roof on the cage. Just rain protection with decent light transmission.
Bought a car alarm and a 12V. tractor battery.
While a solar charger would be cool I really don't need it.
I have an extension cord running to the cage.
Unplug that, and the UPS will start beeping.
The UPS runs a trickle charger for the tractor battery and the air pumps for the DWC.
It's good for at least 20 hours on it's internal batteries.
The tractor battery is prolly good for over a month on a single charge as well. So unplugging, like resistance, is futile.;)
I'll use the Horn beeper output on the alarm through a small inverter to pulse the electric fence charger attached to the cage.
I like the idea of someone poking their arm though the cage while it's not energized.:D
If it kicks on then, well, I prolly won't need the siren.;)
Not relying on just the shock sensors either.
Installing tamper switches under the legs, and I've ordered an "RF field proximity detector" that I think I can tune for the dogs safety and continued cooperation in the "range wars".
Very difficult alarm to beat..
It's easy to spoof IR and ultrasonic motion sensors.
This pup senses large dense objects that come near it at a threshhold, regardless of motion or speed, by how much RF they absorb.
I'm also toying with the idea of using the alarm's light blinkers to trigger a couple surplus digital cameras.
I'd love to post a "surprised look" on the web.:)
Aloha,
W.

The board looks very congested like this (kef, kef) with your pieces all huddled together like that....:D

Hey, I know that one! It's from the "Lady of Niger" Collection, ya?
Okay, I'll try R - K4. I'd prefer to get my rooks off the red squares but my choices are a bit limited.

Aw, I knew what you were up to. Just got free myself. Need a rest.
I like the proximity detector. I'm sure you'll tune in a fine system. :stoned:

"Okay, I'll try R - K4. I'd prefer to get my rooks off the red squares but my choices are a bit limited."
Off the red squares is good defense against the bishop but,
are you sure you want to trade rooks?!
Black can afford it, but white is short on muscle.
White is a piece behind now and as the board gets less complex, that becomes a bigger problem.
You might want to play that out for the next 4 moves to see where it heads, yah?
Might help to know that black plans to hound the king while snatching up white's win options, (the pawns).:eat:
Aloha,
W.

Well, all that makes sense.
Question: when you're playing things out 4 moves, are you just looking at where your pieces will be, or are you trying to anticipate the opponent's responses as well, thus looking at a whole new board? That's where I'm getting bogged down, cause there's lotsa ways things can go. (And I'm not so good yet at knowing what to look for.)
How's R - K Kn 5 look? Seems like I can get a free pawn outta that one.

Weez, would you look at the above-referenced thread and make corrections as needed? It started out as "how to dry out a Moist Milwaukee" but I got carried away...;)
Thanks, Hermie
