And the plants seem to have adjusted quite well already and have turned themselves back toward the light. There ARE some damaged branches etc which I sprayed preventatively with Serenade.....but I don't think there will be many problems or we would have started seeing them right away.
The eventual goal (we think) is to have two seperate scrog screens in the center and then a regular set on each side so that we can keep the light down low.
We're not sure though if we want to use the second SCROG for soil plants or hydro. See with the 400 w on the side it would make sense to SCROG underneath that light.....but wouldn't solve the problem on the other side which has become a jungle (as you can easily see in the last photo of the Brainstorms) and that's when we start losing good exposure to the lighting......especially on the lower branches. Thoughts?
One of my fears would be that if a soil plant needs flushing or something.....and is in a SCROG setup it would be very hard to remove or treat whereas with hydro we can pull and change the nute solution without disturbing the plants.
Thanks WT. :)
That is a nice haul there!Quote:

if its big, how about setting it on a lil movers dolly-like setup, to allow you to roll it around?
then u just need to construct a lil framework around-AND SECURED TO your pot and 'viola!, potra scrog.
im actually working on a new design with adjustable canopy which can be raised as the plants develop height. the advantage i'm theorizing is that the plants will be 'screen-friendly' by the time you have to restrict the max height.
should make for an interesting experiment in the next wave.
watch for previews;)
my thought on this is go vertical with the lighting, but in doing this you'd need lights from every angle in that rain forest you got going on...So I can see how the porta-scrog would be a better use of the overhead lighting....Quote:

I'm way jealous of the scrog attempt Sis .
I Soooooo wish I could do it myself .This is gonna be really interesting .

i must say you do a great job with everyting you do! Good luck with the scgrog only hope i have the same kind of results you have time after time
Thanks Grass.....that's a very nice thing to say.
Rock...something along that line......but it has to be able to detach from the pot so you can remove it from the pot if you have to. There's a CFL grow log where one guy did a beautiful job with one plant and SCROG......that post gave me the energy to try it.

check out this one plant on page two.....totally cool looking.....really made me want to try it.
Weedy,
i gots an idea, but problem is with ur idea of detatching from the pot.
u'll remember this-
portascrog version 2.0 (pvc tubing+ metal fence)
http://boards.cannabis.com/attachmen...e-p1010038.jpg
this was my second prototype portascrog.
heres one of the problem/concerns w portascrog
the frame must be anchored to the pot somehow, because too much movement of the frame or pot, without the other, pulls on the plant violently.
how do i know, it happened.
early on while moving them around the room, the frame swayed hard and almost toppled over, taking the whole plant with it. it woulda been a disaster, probly snapped off at the soilline and killed it for sure.
i quickly caught and restabilized it and learned a quick lesson while my heart was beating in my throat.
if ur considering the need to flush, consider a tub style runnoff setup like this. then u could raise and siphon off excess while flushing, or if u overwater.
of course w hydro, i guess you would just drain out.
but u'd still have the same stability concerns.
i'm offering my limited experiences with having used a couple portascrogs already.
i think the new one (version 3.0 coming soon) will be the best one yet.;)
