well i guess it does sound kinda dumb, but you dont skank anywhere, just at ska shows. and thats how the name of it was invented:
"hey bill, wanna go to that ska show?"
"sure ted, but how are we gonna dnace?"
"well lets see, it is a ska show and the only other word with ska in it is SKAnk, lets call it that!"*
