You feel the effects faster than you would think however, you seem to need more. Plus side is no carsinogens from the burning of the plant.

dude! i did that once (and only once). you're right; its really dry and doesn't go down to good. kinda gets stuck, everywhere. i wouldnt suggest anyone try to down a bag. just roll it, bake it, or anything else but dont eat it. at least without a lot of liquid refreshment.
Might have been answered but I am in a rush at the moment. When cooking with cannabis if it is really well cured you don't have to bake it, because all the THCA has been converted into THC. So could you eat very well cured weed raw and have it work?
