when you die, a thousand horny teenage virgins are waiting for you in heaven as well as $1,000 in cash and a sony PSP. That is provided you have spent your life glorifing the Gods of capitalism and consumerism. So, 5 times a day, you must get in your toyota camry and pay homage to the Gods Wal-Mart, J.C. Penny's, Kroger or Vehix.com.
you lose awareness
Man can you guys think, maybe your in your after life right now, maybe YOU could have been someone famous back then that have passed, there is no way of knowing, but maybe you have already lived another life, and cant remember anything about it, since you were reincarnated into a new human being
I imagin it is a bit like before you were born- you were dead then, yes? Just dispersed particals and energy... floating here or there in the breeze or further down the food chain?
The Human Brain and Body may be an organic machine, but little is known about what exactly the Mind is and hardly anything is known about Consciousness( your direct state of awareness) or what exactly it is, humans do however know of a few practices and techniques that can be used to show some of the potential of the mind, these practices are Lucid Dreaming and Astral Projection and they show that Consciousness is very 'flexible' and could in fact exist without the body, near death experiences and experiences with substances such as DMT also suggest this...so suggesting things such as when life on this planet 'dies' theres nothing is just as ignorant and extreme as thinking life will suffer for all eternity if they do not follow the certain rules of a specific documentation... the fact is no one really knows, we only know what we can observe and analyze what nature has provided us with and considering we know absolutely nothing about the grand scheme of what this universe or universes hold it would be very primitive and moronic to come to a conclusion about what happens after we 'die' on this planet, maybe we should strive to be more curious on this matter and start considering what exactly Consciousness is.
you decompose and go back to nature from whence you came. thats what I hope
I hear you crap your pants when you die.
Death is a question of the nature of linear time. How important is before-birth, compared to after-death.
Had a past life, how-about one before that... and how far do they go. The heaven concept allays these concerns since it's cut and dried. Oblivion to existence to Heaven.
There was a great Zen story I read once that went something like this.
A Zen Master is asked by his student, "Zen Master, what happens when we die?" The Zen Master replies, "I have no idea."
Surprised, the student asks, "But aren't you a Zen Master." To which the Master replies, "Yes, I am a Zen Master, but I'm not a dead Zen Master."
Still, I swear I do have past life memories of living as a small furry animal.
I've heard that we take on another form for another place in the universe.
