depends on how far into flower you are and whether you get this temp issue under control. Plants like stable exactly the same as the last day for their whole life, with this unpredictable drastic fluctuaions your plants are putting way more energy into stress and recuperation that they could be putting into bud. Every stress you cause cuts back your yeild. Remind me again why you still can't regulate your temp, I know you have a heated why not set it up on a timer to pick up where the heat from the light left off?

i noticed clear tubs do you guys or gals think that is ok?

Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
week 5 begins now, 5 out of 10-12 i believe, its super silver haze. i am assuming.
anyhow the problem is that they are in an uninsulated attic. it has been better, maintaining 90 tops in the light period 80 tops at night. its farther on io am worried about. it never exceeds 80 degrees OUTSIDE here, but it got ot like 90 with lights out when it was like 65 outside, so i am looking for some real trouble. later on. but i am also basically in a rainforest, (high in the appalachians) so it will rain everyday at 4:30 to cool things down.. i understand that stress will lower yeild, but what about potency and or resin production would it affect that (maybe even positively)?
oh btw CC do you still think that CO2 is still a waste? i think with my higher temps it might be useful.
-
Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
You can play with some CO2 I guess, use a few simple cheap methods though that way you can work out kinks before you actually need it. You gotta find ways to stabilize your temp so it is consistent everyday, I let mine go up tolow 90's during the day, and drop to low 70's at night, but it is the same every day, I take my temp from the very top of the canopy right under the light cause it's the hottest place. Insulation is cheap and so is the plastic, you could do it in a day, even the plastic stretched across the rafters woul be better. Oh and I hope you aren't using clear containers as pots, not good for the roots.

(sheepishly applies duct tape to the exterior of translucent tubs) funnny you mentioned that med-users, as i had just that day noticed a tiny bit of algae growing on the side.

Well we have come a long way. there are now 10 budding females. i have begun to introduce plants at 4 or more nodes (as long as they are healthy) to the budding chamber. since i worry about theives, i am here almost 100%^ of the time and go up into the dark with a cell phone screen as my only light source, and gather the veggers/clones and seedlings (which are kept in a tray) and take them to either the sun, or if its cloudy under 2 40 watt grow tubes, and one 60 watt? cfl. anyhow towards one end there are more sativas, and the bigger buds the other end are on the suppoed super silver haze. do they look like super silver haze?? anyhow some photos are color enhanced, sharpened etc. with a photo tweaking program. not as intense as photoshop, so its not like i am exxagerating anything other than maybe graniness... i dunno. more to come. temps have been running high, like 90 all the freaking time except toiday, when is like 45-50 i hope... looks like we are in for a case of temp shock geez. damn crazy april weather.

Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
actually it is running 74 here at "night" so thats ideal really. anyways i have noticed what i am assuming are (stress leaves) little 3 bladed leaves coming off the very top, and also some very fast, lank growth by my sativas. i had temp issues, with inadeguate cooling. i grow in a small loose enclosure of hanging space blankets withing a much larger area. a whole bunch of clones, and some repotting of the current plants is coming up this week... so i'll be doubling my floor space, by just buying 2 more space blankets! cheap as hell. i will be halving my light intensity, however, but plan to install a light mover and semi-professional-grade ventilation next week, so the lights can be closer...

Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
i went out of town for a few days, and while i did several things happened. it got down to 7 degrees (F) and my heater broke. it got down to 28 in the grow room (in an attic), according to the record low, (although several feet away it remained above 35...). i think it would have been worse if there hadn't been a heavy layer of snow to provide insulation. well the plants did surprisingly good. the sativas are looking pretty sad, but things seem to be bouncing back for at least 1 of the three hardest hit, everything else looks A OK. we'll see. i didn't particularly want to post pics specifically of the carnage, but evidence of it is here. nothing to do but home for the best. they don't really look THAT bad, just extremely droopy, but not at all dried out.

Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
here are some shots of the next "generation"... and the one after that... and some aerial shots of the first generation... and stuff.... expanded area slightly by moving this (very stressed from recent cold) plant into a large blue container so she can get to be a big girl, and maybe deal with this stress better.. although i thought the plant was totally dead 3 days ago so its doing really good

Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
Wow, Sorry to hear of the troubles.
Sure hope your plants come back for you. I think they might if they did not get frost on them.
A lot of crops in the world can go through a cold spell and then pop back if they do not freeze themselves. I do not know this with weed. I have never had a crop get that cold, But I would think if Oranges, tomatoes,, and so on, can do it.. WEEDS can also.
People growing this stuff think they are growing something hard to grow like Orchids or something. Weed is a strong, tuff plant, and can go through a lot of stuff and spring back stronger then ever.
Good luck with your plants.

well here is the way things are half way through April. does not seem like April with like 10 inches of snow or something, but whatever indoor plants are at least intended to be immune to such flukes in the weather. seem to be doin OK this round. last weekend was rough but one week later all plants are back at 100%. the big boy is of course the larger super silver haze. also picture is a developing skywalker cola, and several pictures of a large portion of the setup with dalat, SSH, super skunk, skywalker, blueberry maybe sumthin else.. dunno really which are still down vegging and which are budding.. got a buncha heady seedlings mixed up... oh well it makes for quite a mystery and countless hours of speculations, examination respeculations and re-examinations... :) yeah i am that ahh... busy. i am counting off the days til may 5th, the day one branch is gonna get cut (the most mature available) unless it is really unreasonable. otherwise i think we are looking at one month minimum for the earliest real harvest. this is a perpetual harvest system set up initially by using shorty and longer finishing strains, and subsequently seedlings and clones are added to the flowering chamber as space is provided by harvesting, (and expansion of facilities initially) i am actually growing those second and third "generations" largely for outdoor later. just gonbna get a HUGE jump on mother nature. . theyr'e gonna be monsters.... anyways. pics of them up-coming.. or in another thread.

here are some updates, as of the 18th, I'll get some more pictures tonight. the lambsbread (tall plant with small buds on right in last picture) is finally getting with it, and may end up being the highest yielder. the super silver haze should be done in the next 2 weeks, it is at week 8 now, (53 days) the plant requires 8-12 weeks, so we could be looking at as much as 4 weeks.

Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
well as the title suggested we are getting close... here are pics mostly of the finishing super silver hazes, but also of the skywalker, and one of the lamb's bread finbalkly taking off. heat has been runing over 100 degrees 24 hrs/day, but fulvic acid and generous co2 is helpig to combat the stress. so are numerous fans.

Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
here are some pics of the whole flowering chamber, not pictured are 10 new plants or at least 8 i cannot keep track, that have just started 12/12 to sex. they are garlic, pineapple sunshine, sunshine, Mk ultra and some trainwreck crossed with something

Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
Hey growin,
I know it was a while back but that pic of the seedlingt tray.. looks like you need to get your lights closer. They were quite stretched. Also, what's the chance you could smooth your mylar some more? Its camping blankets I see... Those are much easier to work with when you take the edges and reinforce them with duct tape, whcih gives them more strength and you can then staple them to things without tearing.
Trich development looks very nice. Very frosty!

Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
so here is an update for all you who might actually care. we are getting cloer and closer. with a 30X microscope i have observed the first trichome heads turning cloudy; I think i'll wait till i see some of the first ambers to harvest. anyway the first picture is a close up of what is likely black cherry. then there are two close ups of maturing super silver haze buds, one from each plant. next we have a wide shot of the operation, minus a few plants that are out of the frame, and then i believe last will be a picture of the lambs bread (talls ass plant to left and center with multiple colas), necxt over to the right is what is most likely a super skunk in the front, and my larger SSH, (the stouter fat ass plant to the right in the background). there is also another super skunk cola top at the very bottom left. :)

so alot has happened.. including the completion of the grow and the onset of hellish temperatures and the ending of a lease coupled with an exponentially growing level of paranoia due to an even more rapidly growing stench of skunkiness that was smellable throughout the region...... it had to come down... so things were a little premature.. also a last minute security leak broke the last stem so to say... a security leak in the form of anonymous people telling me i had 24 hours to give them half of what I had or else...... luckily i simply harvested what was done, and the rest was moved to a friends spot and now resider in the sun at the beach... and they are gonna be a huge success if a frickin hurricane doesn't wipe em out (which is very likely given their coastal location) ANYWAYS the indoor grow.. where did i leave off.... oh yeah when psycho4bud the "modfather" for some reason started a fucking war for the mention of something i will certainly not mention again.. and banned me for like a month... it was a war like he was the US and i was anyone else and it was completely one-sided. i asked what was going on and it got extended...so i kinda said to hell with y'all... but now i am bored... so i'll show you what i did while i was banned here for a month for making one comment which i received POSITIVE rep points from other members for... I still have no idea why Psycho4bud has a personal vendetta against me but i have a guess he has poilitical motivations.... just a guess. oh yeah the grow... well see for yourself... these are from cinco de mayo... the last pictures before large portions were harvested.. and well i cannot even f9ind any pics taken afterwards.... i do got pics of the harvest... and then chillin at the beach with a shitload of dope and some nice dirty money with which to buy boats, liquor, and most importantly fresh seafood.
-
Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
so here it is... the harvest... these are pics of about 2/3 the total harvest... the other third was harvest earlier.. the close ups are the blueberry showing its classic Thai genetics...(the really stringy shit) and the other close-up is probably the black cherry.. the really long nugs (like 18 inches!) are the lamb's bread... although you really can't tell their size... for some reason these pics don't really show the crystals.. it was my g/f camera, which seems to do that.. anyhow i can assure you it tastes, smells, feels, and looks just right. next i'll post pics of us at the beach afterwards enjoying our bounty!

Growing for my future. (My first sucessful grow) (i hope).
Well this story has a happy ending with me and my girl going to the beach for a week. Normally, being an unemployed archaeologist, i couldn't afford any such thing, ecspecially a private beach, but then i figured out how to grow money on trees and well i went to the beach.... twice now.. but these are all from the first trip... just as the first harvested nugs reached smokability and about 24 hours after the main harvest. It was sure relieving knowing i was going to the beach with a buncha funk and the stupid would-be thieves (who found out through an absent minded receiver of a clone who couldn't keep their mouth shut) weren't getting shit because they tipped me off. Got lucky there... Thats some super silver haze.. which we smoked a lot of that week. check out our private beach location.... sailboats, lighthouses, a nice bikini... and one week in paradise.. on island time. Harvest was a happy time indeed! :rastasmoke:
