I view death as the end of the mind and the brain and the body. I don't know whether we have spirits or not that live on. On an emotionaly level,I would hope so but don't really believe so intellectually. If we do, I hope there's some postmortem convergence with the earth and the universe.
I think death is like nothingness. Like the nothingness before we were born. Or when we're completely blanked out under anesthesia. Nada. The journey across from life to death is sometimes an adventure. But when the electrical activity stops in the brain and breathing and circulation stop, it certainly looks like nothingness clinically.
I forgot what iwas gonna say, but if you think their is nothing....how do you explain ghosts?
dunno... drugs?Quote:

EVERYBODY KNOWS SUMMERLAND COMES AFTER DEATH.
only for TV stars on the WB.
i remember the one time i was wrong just as if it were yesterday. i had made this pretty little planet filled with all sorts of trees and bushes and furry little critters, a real eden if you will, then i went and spoiled it all by creating these hairless apes. they pissed on the trees, they burned all the bushes and they clubbed anything that moved over the head. i'll never make that mistake again.Quote:

The real question is why don't WE correct OUR mistakes? We have been given a paradise to do with what we will; it's only a matter of time before humanity comes to its senses. The after is of little importance compared to what we already have. Quiet the mind, then put away the selfish man, and become that which you were meant to be in the now...
Love,
:smokin:
after the whole crucifixion fiasco i just gave up. i figured that if i sent the kid down he might be able to sort of straighten things out, boy was i wrong. i sent him out to steer y'all back onto the right road with a little info about peace and love and gettin' along and what happens. he manages to get a bunch of the little pissers worshiping HIM! that was one of the things i wanted to get straight in the first place, all this worship crapola; but no, he has to confuse the issue even more. well, that's when i said "enough's enough". i brought the kid back home and grounded him for a couple of eons.Quote:

well, good bye and good luck. i wish you all the best. maybe i'll drop by toward the end of eternity just to see how you've fared.
you can call me G
peace
^^lmao^^
Hey, G! Tell the kid I said hello, would ya? Oh yeah, you really shouldn't ground him for our mistakes, man. He did good, only we were so accustomed to worship and sacrifice that we couldn't help ourselves. It wasn't his fault!!!
LOL! I love this.
he was given a specific set of instruction which he failed to carry out, for this he must be punished. you have no idea what it's like to raise an omnipotent being. he's always giving his opinion where it isn't wanted and generally acting as if he were the god around here. i can't even begin to count the number of times i've caught him handing out forgiveness as if the stuff grows on trees. and that hair and those sandals, it's almost more than a father can bear. i can't even take him out anyplace nice anymore, he keeps turning the bread tray into a freakin' aquarium and he's never satisfied with water, he's always turning it into wine as soon as my back is turned.Quote:

well, i'm sorry to lay all this on you mere mortals, but as a single father and creator of the universe i have no one else that i can really talk to. thanks for listening, i'll try to make it a mild winter.
G
Well, if you really want to punish him...send him back to earth, G. He'll claim to be this and that and everyone will think him crazy. When he shows his powers, his very worshipers will think him the anti-christ, and our psychiatrists will have him placed in a mental institution, feed him full of pills, and he'll live the rest of his days on earth and a darkened haze.
How's that for punishment, G? By the time he makes it back home, he'll be set so strait he'll never defy you again.
But, he'll be pretty pissed at the human race...
:abduct:
This conversation is crazy because last night i did adderall for my second time i took 3 15mg pills and snorted 2 and then took another half and two other of my good friends did this also. For 6 straight hours we talked about every possibilty of death and the after life. my personal belief is that we will die and know nothing. i could go on and on as to why but instead i will smoke a bowl :P also try not to think to hard on this question because as some one said it will make you go crazy. when it comes down to it nothing can be proven becuase language is too inferior.
believe me, i've thought about it. i'm just concerned that he might do something really bad this time. not too long ago he ran away and i heard he spent some time around your neck of the woods. from what i've been able to sort out about it, he managed to start two world wars and create something you folks can a nuclear weapon. so you can see why i'm not too anxious to send him back to y'all. it kind of gives the family a bad name, if you know what i mean.Quote:

Are there any Realists in this thread?
When I was 6 years old, my dad took me to a beef slaughter house in Corpus Christi. We were just there to sign some orders and contracts and whatnot. While I was standing there eating my sandwich on the kill floor, I could see the feet of the cattle that were once running around the brush country of south texas. They were coming up a ramp. You could see their feet and their nose smelling around confused as to where this ramp leads to. At this time, a man with a steel prod with a .22 caliber cartidge 'pops' the animal in the head with the steel pin. It is designed to destroy the motor functions of the animal. (you can't strap a 2500lb steer to a conveyer when its kicking, time is money). It hits the skids to the kill floor, they strap it up, and within 30 feet on that conveyer, they were totally skinned and headless. They use a forked winch to rip off the skin. There you really see an organism 'naked'. Right then and there, at 6 years old, I realized that there is absolutely NOTHING after death. Darkness is all you will find. Good thing is that the moment you are dead, you most likely won't really care. Your body decomposes and is used as a fuel by another organism. After I realized this, I finished my sandwich and never questioned death again.
Maybe in candy land something special happens to your 'soul'. Not in this world.
reality is overrated.
as for there being nothing after death, that is just simply physically impossible, because energy does not get destroyed, it only changes.
DEATH is an illusion, there is only LIFE and CHANGE.
when you die, sure, the previous you, your ego, your current sense of self, will become absolute nothingness, as YOU CHANGE. YOU are still there, but your EGO, who you CURRENTLY THINK YOU ARE, will ceace to be.
sure, you can try your damnedest to hold on to that, and just waste your existence, haunting places, but there is really so much more for your energy to be used for.
energy does not die, it only changes.
Dude, I LOVE when peole come up with this kinda stuff.Quote:

there for when the DNA strand in your brain cells loose to much information on how to produce energy from differant chemicals in the blood, there is no more energy being produced so the end result is death.

all there IS is energy, and infinite different manifestations thereof.
death is just changing energy from a living organism to something else, like dirt.
what is the energy that holds dirt together? can dirt die? if not, then neither can we, only experience mass changes of our energy and body.
i dont get why people even think about it. Theres no way of knowing until you die, theres no point in wasteing your life preparing for a afterlive, Life is the only thing you should care about.
"should" is a matter of opinion, and i appreciate you sharing yours :)
point well taken :p
I'm personally a Christian, and believe in the Christian views of the after life, but I don't think many of these so called "sins" the church preach out against are acually in the Bible.
you dont KNOW that though so dont state it as a factQuote:

Well, I can for a fact say, that when you 'kill' an animal, they bleed out, die, and no longer move. When a man gets hit by a bus, he bleeds out, dies, and no longer moves. My mother died 3 years ago. I know exactly where shes buried and I know she ain't going anywhere.Quote:

I am definately open to being proven wrong. I am in no way pushing this on anyone. But from my experiences, death is bleak and inevitable whether you get hit by a bus or die at 102.....don't kid yourself, you'll just be dissappointed. (if you could be disappointed and dead at the same time)
Life is just death in a bottle, so live it hard with foot full throttle!! :D
but what if we all ran the same direction? couldnt we actually make the bottle go somewhere?
Life IS death, death IS life, and w/o it nothing would exist at all. I think the 'bottle' would better stand for "eternity", as life and death has been prevelant since the beginning of time.Quote:

lol no need for redundancy, i was just sparking inspirational thought :P
I didn't realize i was being redundant. Your thought just sparked another that I expounded on a bit. I thought it might contribute to the conversation if only in a small way. ;)
Im not saying youre wrong, im not saying youre right, im just saying that there is no proof nor ever gonna be any way to prove where(if at all) are soul goes after we die(if you belive in souls that is).Quote:
