The drug laws in America are completly outrageous, and no one can disagree.

I mean, for hard drugs, its a good thing, but to be arrested for possesing a gram of plant matter... That's almost unheard of in alot of countries. I think it's more the fact that they actually bother to take people to court and put them on probation for it.

It's just a waste of tax payers money.

I have nothing against the American people, but one thing I do notice, is that the country isn't as one. It seems each state is its own country. You have Texas pride, Alabama pride, West cost pride, but where is the true American pride? People say it, but I don't see it. The states act independantly, not as a country.

But hey, each country has their own problems. In Canada, we have the shittiest military equipt. around, from the 50's I think. I always worry that if someone attacks, what the hell are we going to do? You know.

Who cares though. I don't care. I judge by peoples attitudes and actions, not where they're from. :)

I think people say that because the KKK was founded in Alabama way back whenever. That's like saying, all Irish people are drunks, or English people have bad teeth, or the Canadians say "eh" and "aboot" It's just another stereotype, and it will always be around.

Instead of getting mad about it, I have found the best thing to do is just to ingore it. It's not leaving, and getting mad just sucks, so fuck them and such.

IMO Americians are for the most part great people (everyone I know anyways). They are controlled by their govt. Much like every other country. Im Canadian I am lucky to live where I live and in a country that is well recieved world wide. but if I was an Americian I would have the same amount of pride in my country. I have several friends from the USA and all of them say the same thing. They dislike the govt but what can they really do. Actully most of them wish they lived in Canada. But our Govt is looking more like the US everyday. Soon Health Care will be gone... Thats right in Canada you don't have to pay to go to the hospital. Its pretty fuking sweet,,,,,,

Every male is required(and females can if they choose to) to go into a training program when they reach a certain age. After the training program they are presented with their gun, and amnuition. Every so often they have to go back and repeat the program. If the country becomes under attack, we would have a plan developed to gather all male troops that are willing(how many wouldn't be to protect freedoms like that?)to fight and go to war.

Just sounds like a better country than any I could think of.

I know that I am an arrogant jackass, but honestly, anyone who considers theirself better than another because of their country, and beyond that steriotyping all of us, is a bigger arrogant jackass than I can describe.

I have met many people in america that are incredibly nice, sweet people. Mostly girls, because most guys are jackasses in my oppinion.

I'm an American History major. If people realized what our past is based on they would be outraged. I blame it on our shitty education system, oh and, the Bush dynasty. We're all from different cultures and that's what makes us strong. My family is Irish, Mexican, Polish, English, and Vietnamese, to say nothing of our friends whom are of every complection you can imagine. Harnessing all of these cultures is what makes America great and you can't find it anywhere else.

Oppression is in every country, and always will be, you can pick and choose where you want to fight the battle.

Racism, at least in my part of the US, is hardly an issue. Sure, there are people who are racist, both black and white people. But the majority don't act on it, just come up with stupid stereotypical 'jokes.' People think if you're against affirmitive action, then you're a racist. I'm against it, but I also can't stand AA for women, too. Getting a job because you fill a percentage quota of black, asian, or women is just ridiculous.

Again, if you don't live in America, you don't know.

That's what makes the country strong. Our country was a series of colonies and the federal government was originally only supposed to deal with a few issues, like levying taxes, issuing currency, managing international relations, and managing interstate commerce. The state and local government was supposed to deal with the rest. Unfortunately over the years bureaucracy has smothered our system and only now people are beginning to realize how much of a benefit strong state's rights are. You can see this clearly in the recent raids of cannabis dispensaries in California. As the weed was taken away, protesters chanted "State's Rights!." The CA authorities aren't busting people, it's the Feds. This is a tragedy that would sadden our forefathers immensely.
