Hello,
Torog - Try to PM me again. Perhaps the mods overthere had not completely approved your membership yet. They should have it done by now. They are usually pretty fast about that sort of thing.
I am getting excited. The time is drawing near.
Happy Holidays to all.

Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
Hey guys...Sorry to butt in here, but this sounds like fun!
I have just started growing (about 2 months ago) and ended up just hacking 3 males (Jack Herer) (good practice though!). I would love to join in on this thread...sounds like fun...It's been nice going through raising these males and putting them into flower...very good practice and good cannabutter if nothing else...I hated hacking them but oh well...
I now have one other baby (NL #5xBlueberry) about 3 weeks in veg and she is a girl for sure...white pistils everywhere...Just cloned her today actually...anyway, I was happy to see the pistils after hacking down those males..anyhoo...I also have 3 seedlings that just sprouted and are under the flos (Jack Herer variety)...I will try to get some pics up, if I can figure out how... but I like the idea of having anyone join in on this thread!!
Further specs are:
5 gallon Home Depot buckets wrapped in reflectix tape nad insulation with 5" net pots...
Using GH Flora Series nutes
250W MH in the veg room
250W HPS in the flower room
That's it for now....
Happy growing and thanks for letting me ramble...!

Hello,
I will be more than willing to send you some when they are ready. I am not sure why the mods over there are taking so long, when I joined, las month, they had my privlages up almost instantly.
I also post at this site under the same name, you can contact me there.
www.cannabis.us.com
I just ran across it a while back. It has a good amount of "regulars" that hang out overthere, they seem to be good people.
You can PM me overthere, if you would like.
The seeds will not be ready for a a few weeks (harvest), and then they will still need an additional month to properly dry before they are planted.
Hope to here from you soon.
Peace

Howdy willyblue,
Howdy and welcome aboard ! The more folks, the merrier ! I'm certain that we can all learn some new things from each other.
It sounds like you are using the bubbler method for your plants..is that right ? Is each bucket independent of the others ? Or do ya have a common resevoir for all the plants ? Also, you say that ya got some Herer plants ,aren't they almost pure sativa ?
Have a good one...Torog :D

Hey Torog...I am excited to join in and learn some things too!!
Anyway, I am running 5 gallon bubbler buckets as you had said. The three Jack that we hacked were all independent of one another... (my sink is far away anyway, so I am going to lug water no matter what :p ) I wish we could figure out a cool rezzysystem, but seems SO complicated and all...
About the Herer...It is a called Willy Jack from Emery. I believe it is Williams Wonder crossed with Jack Herer. (hence my name...we are growing Big Blue which is NL 5 x Blueberry and this Willy Jack too...) It definitely has more sativa then the Big Blue (Big Blue is mostly indica and ends up about 2-3 feet and Willy is supposed to end up about 3-4 feet.) You can really tell too...Big Blue is really stocky and short...Willy is much stretchier... When we chopped the three WJ's, they were about 1 1/2 feet and 7 days into flower...all males!! So, we are off again. I will have to read back again on this post and see what you got going (or will have going).
Anyway, I am gonna try and get some pics up here soon...
Adios!

Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
I am a first timer with hydro, but so far it is doing great. The growth is mind-boggling next to soil, I am useing the BC nutes: BC Boost, BC Grow, BC Bloom, Thrive-Alive B-1 Red, EA/EN Mycorrhizae for hydroponics, and Thrive-Alive B-1 Green(foliar spray). I am useing rubbermaid containers 10 gal. with 3-4.5" pots in each and a dual outlet air pump.
Now, I had a thought, and acted on it... The thought was that if a propagation mat makes roots grow faster, then a heated bubbler should do the same, it turns out that I was correct in thinking this: I placed an aquarium heater into one of the bubblers, and the 3 plants in the heated bubbler have roots that are 4" longer than their not heated counterparts, I am maintaining a temp of 26.3 celsius, and the leaf growth is better on the heated side as well. The heater was at walmart for like $13.44 for 5-15 gal.
BTW, all plants are from seed, Skunk #1, from the same plant, so genetics are very similar.
I will post some pics soon. :p

Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
I did some reading and dropped the temp to 23 celsius for better dissolved oxygen, and root growth. thanks overgrow.com!

Hey lordsoth...cool that you are joinin'...wonder where Torog's been...anyway, I usually run my temps about 72-75 F (22-24 C I think  )in my bucket too so I think you were good on lowering em a bit...I try to make sure they never get below 70. It's a wonder what some research can do!! I love these boards!! Anyway, get some pics up soon if you can, in the meantime I am gonna do the same!!
Are you running one dual outlet pump in the 10 gal, or do you have two?? Just curious...what kind of stones are you using?? Round?? I am using 5 gallon Home Depot buckets and they are wrapped in water heater insulation (which is silver and reflective) and I manage to keep them (on the cold floor) in the low 70's by doing this...that insulation rocks!!! Anyway, good luck and hope to hear from ya soon!!
PEACE!

Howdy !
Here I be ! ...lol
I'm looking forward to both you and LS666,posting pics,I'm very interested in your 5 gallon set-up and LS666's 10 gallon set-up. I would be happy to just grow a few, good yielding plants,my space and budget is limited..I'm not sure if I can do the 50 gallon set-up that Student has in mind, unless I do it at a friend's house.
Anyhow....Have a good one...Torog :D

Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
I use one dual outlet pump per 10 gal container, 2 air stones per container.
As you can see I was baked when I germinated the seeds 'cause I planted two seeds in the same rockwool cube (pic 4) :( what should I do about that? and in pic 5 I seem to be having some trouble with the leaves, any suggestions are appreciated. and way all plants are 11 days old.
also I have a clone rooting now to fill the empty pot.

Howdy LS666,
Well..thanx for the pics-it helps to better understand how the set-up functions. I don't know much about hydro,so I'm not sure what's causing your plant problems..I just know that you need to figure it out-before it starts happening to the rest of your plants, hopefully, someone with better knowledge than I,will let us both know what's going on.
I ain't never used any rockwool cubes..so I don't know if it's possible to seperate the two plants that you got growing in the same cube.
Wish that I could of helped ya more.
Have a good one...Torog

Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
Hey there LS....What are your PPM levels?? I am by no means a pro but it looks kinda like an overfert prob on pic 5. Also, about planting the two plants in the one rockwool cube...I would try (somehow) to seperate them...rockwool is nice cause you can split it apart easily. I have pulled it apart to see if my clones were rooting....anyway, can you try to pull them apart and hope to save one of the two??? obviously both if you can help it...You are sure to encounter some problems (massive roots and the like) if you don't axe at least one try and pull the roots apart and replant the other guy...I have planted straight into grow rocks (took a rooted clone and pulled the rockwool away, and then put in a net pot with rocks around the roots ( have to have a stealth hand, but it will work!!). Anyway, thanks for posting pics...I am going to get mine up this week for sure....
Let me know your PPM....

Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
Here is a pic of my setup...to high of resolution on the others I took, so this will have to do for now....A little higher up in the pic there is a shelf with a humidity dome and a flouro tube where I have 6 clones from the big plant (NL 5x Blueberry). In the 5 gal I have one dual outlet pump with a three prong valve connecting to an airstone, and in the 10 gal rubbermaid with the three Willy Jack seedlings I have another dual outlet with two airstones. Does that make sense?? Anyway, 5 gal is going into flower on Friday. She has alternating nodes and is mostly indica. Very bushy...we are also LST-ing her as I have found this a better method than topping, FIMming etc...So, there it is...I will try and get some more pics up soon too!
-
Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
I do not own a tool for measuring the PPM, but I am getting one SOON. I do think it is an overfert problem, I need to dilute it to 1/4 strenght
-
Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
it was a case of nutrient burn :( but I cut the solution in half 2 days ago (full was 700 ppm) so I figure I have about 300-350ppm, the girls look much better already. I also added some epsom salts, 3/4 tsp per gallon, thanks for the advice. :D
btw... there is no way to safely separate those two plants :( could I grow them together, or cut one off???

willybblue, is that a Compact Floro hydrofarm light?

Hey again LS....about your two plants growing in one pot...I would try and just cut one off and hope the roots don't kill the other roots...I don't know what else you should do...I would try my hardest not to have both growing in the same pot...I can see that being a big problem later on when the roots are growing vigorously....
About the light...it is a Hydrofarm, but not a compact flouro...it's a 250 MH and in my flower room there is a 250 HF HPS... The 250 works the best for the size grow we have going...
Anyway, glad to hear things are going a bit better for you...Hey, I have a question now...How long should I let her recover before putting into flower after taking two clones today?? A couple of my clones didn't do so hot, so I wanted to take a few more...What do you think???

Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
I would wait for 7-10 days before flowering that plant, that seems to be enough. But that is with soil in my experience, and they say hydro is faster for grow time, so I think a week is good.
I have finally had sucess with clones myself :) and I think that I want to make some Feminized seeds with one of them, it is a very robust plant, and some great smoke too ;) I think it's skunk#1 and blueberry, but not positive. but that is a whole other story...

Thanks LS....I had success rooting the three males Willy Jack's that we hacked....all my clones had roots coming out of the rockwool and I was about ready to put them in the bubbler and then we had 3 males!!! So, alll those clones went buh bye!! Anyway, this Big Blue I have never cloned before, so I want to be sure I have plenty of em' just in case....I am not one to try re-vegging clones after the momma has been flowering ya know?
I think I will wait about a week, change her nutes over today and go from there....Thanks for yer help!! I hope TheStudent isn't ticked we are hijacking....

Hello,
You guys are not hijacking at all. I am following right along learning as we go!
This is exactly what I am hoping for in this thread, community enolvement.
As a little update on my end:
- Nutrients are ordered and will be here soon (Advanced Nutrients)
- Bubbler is complete
- AK-47 clones should be putting out roots any day now (will make the debut run)
- Ready to Rock!
My trainwreck clones are starting to really take off. They will be the second run in the bubbler.
I also have germed three of Resevoir Seeds - Williams Firecracker (Williams Wonder x Soma's NYCD), which have all poped above ground and will be the subjects of the third run.
So much to do and all the time in the world! :)
Happy Holidays to everyone.
Peace

Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
hey student: just wanted to say i started a new grow , i germed my seeds on the 17 and they were put in rock wool within 24hrs the seeds took about 18-24 hrs to germ
using 2 drops of superthrive in the water i wetted my paper towel with. i had about 98% rate of sucess. i wanted to let you guys know i am trying out an idea i had the rock wool i put the germed seeds in i made about a 1 inch by 1/2 inch thick square and put root the sticking out the bottom of the rock wool. i then held the rock wool over shot glasses with tooth picks and just enough water in the glasses to barley wet the new root, it only took 24 hours and i had 2inch roots i then took the seedlings at 3 days old and made some mini bubler set ups with butter bowls, and i made small net pots out of tiny cups and placed the rock wool supported by very few grow rocks, so that the root would be in the water, and added 1 ml of grow to the water and oxygen and the plants really took off at exactly 9 days old they are working on their 3rd set of leaves getting the roots in the bubbler as early as possible seemed to speed up the growth rate tremendously sorry to ramble on but i just thought you guys would like to hear about my experiment good luck guys

Hello,
jimmy5150guitars - Awesome, sounds like you may have a bit of a new method on your hands. I am glad to hear.
My nutrients have arrived, I have placed three of my rooted clones into soil for moms and gifts to a couple friends.
I have three rooted clones left that will go into the bubbler either next Tuesday or Wednesday.
Nothing like entering a new year with a new journey. I hope all goes well, I am a bit nervous. I do not want to mess up my first time out. At least not too bad. LOL.
So here we all go....Starting the first of the year....The One....The Only (so far)....Great Bubbler Run!
Ladies and Gentlemen...Start Your Bubblers! :)
I'm a dork. LOL
I hope everyone had a warm, safe, holiday.

Here's what my roots look like. :) ( I think there's some algae)
the second picture is one of my Skunk #1 / Blueberry clones 1 week past rooting.
The third is a SK1/BB plant flowering (4 weeks) in soil :( it survived powdery mildew :)

the middle pic loocks perfect lordsoth! what can you do about algae? And how could it grow w. out light?
-
Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
I cannot tell a lie... I have not light proofed my bubblers yet. I know, I know shame on me. It is on tomorrow's list of things to do, along with a change of water/nutes.
That middle pic is a clone from a very strong mother.

Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
hey dude i put about 4 -6 tea spoons of hydrogen peroxide in a 3 gal bubbler and run for about an hour then i actually spray the roots with the hydrogen peroxide/water solution while they r hanging and let them sit then pour a half of gallon of water with 2 teaspoons per gal.through your each pot and let them rinse this works verry well for me all though my bubbler dosent create that much algee i change my resv. weekly and i put 4 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide an hour or so before i change my water do it wekly as a prevenative measure and you wont have a problem. you will have no more algea
good luck

Hydro: Bubbler Style - a story in the making.
Hello,
Isn't it strange how things can seem to go crazy in the blink of an eye? I mean one minute you are sitting at your computer dreaming about how nice your soon to be bubbler run will be and the next, well....
...The phone rings and you pick it up..."Hello". It is a good friend of yours who happens to have a habbit of listening to the police scanner....
...and the first thing they say on the phone is "get rid of your shit"..."Your name is on the scanner"...
WHAT do you do at that point? The Super secret hiding place you have is already full of curing bud and seeds (Lowryder), so you have no room for your clones...what is left for you to do... your friend is still panicing in your ear..."They are giving an ETA of 10 mins. they are in route"...
So I did the only thing that I could think of doing...(It still hurts to think about)...picked up my prunning clippers...and took out both of my trainwrecks...all six ak-47 clones...and the seedling Firecrackers...quickly cut them into small pieces and threw them into the wood stove....then started to "clean" the area....
About five minutes later two officers knocked on my door. I took a breath and opened the door...at this point I have prepared myself (as best I could) for the worst...they then asked me "have you seen this person" while handing me a picture. It is a photo of one of my younger cousins...I say "no sir, not recently"...they then go on to tell me that he is wanted for a small list of offenses...and that they are going around to all his family to ask if he has been seen and to urge us (the family) to talk him into turning himself in....with that said they bid me goodnight and left.
At that point I call back my friend to let them know that all is well, and that I paniced and chopped down all my babies...he immediately told me it is better to chop your ladies and keep your freedom then the other way around...I have to agree with him there.
So my bubbler run is going to be just a bit behind schedule. One thing is amazing though, I had not had time really to get rid of all of the rockwool cubes so they were just put in a rubbermaid and left. I went to clean it out and found one of the cut clones (clones were only about 4-5 inches tall), is growing back. It has one little set of leaves at the base of the stem, right below the cut. I will be keeping this baby around I've named her "Miracle". LOL.
I have also been promised a couple trainwreck clones again, so all is not lost, just delayed.
I am now looking at the third or fourth week of this month for a start date.
I hope everyone else in the club is doing well. Lets get this baby going.
Peace

Hello,
I have a small update.
"Miracle" the plant is looking good, and I will be making the two hour journey to pick up the Trainwreck clones sometime in the next week.
I get a little bummed out every time I look over at my cabinet.
How are some updates on everyone elses grows. I need to see some plants growing or I will start freeking out. I am going through withdrawls! LOL!

But my plants are kicking some serious a$$. Now they are about 1 month Skunk #1 from seed, and about 9"-10" tall and the rooting is unbelievable. I have high hopes for this crop. ;) I think I might be in the lead of the first great bubbler run, please anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
P.S. the one in the bucket is a clone almost 3 weeks past rooting BlueberryxSkunk1.
