Thanks again Kindprincess. I've recently read your links...wow, you are incredibly knowledgeable in the growing arena! Thanks for all the tips. Peace!
no prob sweetie, i'll try to keep in touch. friends are priceless...
love, kp:p
remember to keep it easy on nutes this is a very delicate time for her, give her a good flush once every 3-4 weeks with 1/4 nutes.
dont prune anything at this point either, if a fan leave is in the way of a flower just move it aside if possible.
Thanks for the tip invision! I'll keep your advice in mind and be gentle during this delicate cycle.
Quick Update: Crystal's flowers spots are coming in wonderfully. I lost count at 20spots. I'm not sure what her yield will be, but after only 12 days of flowering her buds are nearly 3/4's of an inch long. The main cola at the top is at least an inch long. Any ideas about what that might yield? I'm totally new to this, actually this is the first time I've ever flowered, so any help is much appreciated! Oh yeah, Crystal is now 25inches....yikes!
Gail is recuperating wonderfully and has some great, new growth. Judging from her growth pattern, I'm guessing she's going to turn out to be a Galen...lol. (A male won't be so bad considering I plan to do some cross breeding in the future!)
Jody has filled out beautifully since her pruning. All her new growth looks great. I will wait even longer before I try the nutes again, it's strange that her sisters took to the fish ferts well, but she didn't.
Sophie is by far my favorite of all the Afghanis. She's short and very bushy and seems to be growing upwards more now. I've decided to keep her in her small pot eventhough more room would be better. I'm not looking for a high yield, just a healthy growth so hopefully my decision will work out for the best.
Olivia is starting to look greasy. I'm so proud of her. Her stench is increasing as is her size. She's still the runt and I'm almost positive she'll be female. Here's to hoping.
The Neville seedlings are growing so fast. They are all working on their 4th set of true leaves and so I'll have to brave a transplant in the near future...I hate doing that but I have no choice seeing as I started them in tiny pots.
My baby Afghani is looking good except for the fact that one of her cotyledons are dead. This will probably mean stunted growth, but so far I see no signs of that.
Mystery bag seed has been germinated and planted in soil. She still hasn't popped up from the soil yet but I'll give her some more time. She was a huge seed so I'm sure she'll be a nice, healthy sprout soon.
I'm still waiting on my Pure Power Plant, Master Kush, Afghani, Jack Herer and Skunk #1 beans but I'm not in a hurry to receive them. I won't be germinating them until the other girls are in the flowering stage....just not enough room for more than 11plants in my growspace.
Pictures to follow this evening. Peace!
Update:
I just spotted some pre-flowers on Jody, is this a sign that she's female? They are white hairs! Peace.
congratulations! jody is, indeed, female;)
hey, do you have email?
love, kp:p
Hello Kindprincess! I do indeed have an e-mail. [email protected] Three n's...lol....I look forward to hearing from you! Look for updates tonight! Man...my haze sprouts smell something fierce....and they are just sprouts! lol....wonder what the future will hold?
This day I have been truly blessed. The grower I admire the most in this world, my good bud J, has given me three seeds and these three seeds have made my life! I am now the proud owner of three potential HP13 babies! There will be a new log very, very soon! I'm going to have to pull out the big guns for this grow! Props to you my friend, may you be blessed immensley for your kindness!
Quick Update:
Transplanted 3 of my 5 sprouts. It wasn't my best work, but I'm hoping they'll be fine. (My fingers are crossed.)
Ordered some more beans today. Mandala's Safari Mix....here's to hoping they arrive safe. When this order arrives I'll have more beans than I can use, so any ideas on the best way to store them for a long while? Thanks and Peace!
hey babe, just gave you a shout. good luck on you new order and babies:)

Something funny.....
Two of my plants have grown an enormous amount of leaves and so became a little heavy. I needed to give support to their stems so this is what I used....lol
Ever eat chinese food? You know those sticks that the terriyaki chicken and terriyaki beef come on? Well I used one of those sticks for the two plants. (after giving them a good cleaning of course) Here comes the kicker....I wanted to use something to tie them onto the sticks without harming them or their growth....well, my five year old has this cheap, novelty toy, it's a hand, miniature hand that is, made of this gooey, sticky material that if you slap it against something it sticks...a hardened version of "slime" if you will. I used that. It worked. The material doesn't dig into the stem and is flexible, very flexible. It's also sturdy and stretchy. I had to do this some days ago and the plants have had no problems so far....lol....Peace.
haha, i've never heard of that technique...

Quick Update:
Crystal is on her 15th day of forced flowering. She is an incredible 32inches tall and has 23 bud spots/flowers forming. So far they aren't too big, but there are all kinds of white hairs which look nice. Anyone know when the resin glands begin to form? The biggest buds are on the main stem at the top and the middle nodes but besides that they all seem to being growing at the same rate.
Jody- At day 28 I am going to begin forcing Jody. She's already got some preflowers and she's 13inches tall. I don't want her to turn out too huge. Again this is head space so yield isn't the most important thing to me, just healthy growth.
Pics to follow tonight.
I've germinated one HP13 seed and it has cracked but hasn't shown much of a tap root yet so I'm going to hold off on planting it.
My transplanted Nevilles seem to be doing real well since their move....I'm lucky not to have killed them all. I will transplant my 2 other babies today, maybe...lol
Olivia has grown up very nice but she's starting to scare me a bit....she's growing like a male, but after all the abuse I put her through as a sprout I half expected it. I'll hold out until she matures of course, but I'm not holding my breath. Weird things are happening to her too. The leaves on one fan leaf curve down, like an upside down canoe. She has plenty of water and her ph is fine. What could be causing this? She's got 5 sets of true leaves and she's 28 days old but I haven't given her nutes because she was so stunted. Should I? Any advice is appreciated. (The tiniest little yellow spots showed up on one fan leaf as well.)
Sophie is my beauty. She's bushy and beautiful. Her leaves are nice and green with no blemishes. I'm not sure how tall she is but she is a wide momma. Can't wait until she matures.
Peace!
Bump...
Ok, broke down this morning and ordered a T5 6 bulb grow light. It supposedly emits a whopping 30,000 lumens. I'm hoping this will compliment my HID's. If not, I suppose I can use it for my seedlings and future clone attempts. I've seen others on here who have had success with it, but any advice is greatly appreciated. Peace.
Quickie Update:
Transplanted the last of my Neville's haze today and it went well.
I have yet to transplant my baby Afghani but she's still working on her 2nd set of leaves so I'll wait til she's finished.
Planted one of the HP13 beans just now.
Germinating the remaining two beans today.
Still waiting on my Safari Mix and my other beans from the good Dr. (day 9 of waiting by the mailbox and nothing so far)
i'm sure they'll be there soon...
i'd go ahead with the feeding now (1/4 strength) what nutes are you using? can't wait for the pic update... i just uploaded some of mine in the godbud link...
love, kp:p
Hey Kindprincess! What do you think about the fish emulsion? Is that a good fert to use. I used the odorless with Crystal and she seemed to like it. Let me know what you think! Checking your log right away! Peace!
fish emulsion is great stuff! what is the npk value?
Ok...phew...thought I was doing something wrong...the NPK is 2, 4, 0.5, seems a bit low on Nitrogen so what do you recommend to supplement that? Thanks in advance and as always Peace!
hmmm, sounds like a flower nute... i know someone is probably going to flame me for this but oh well... i use miracle grow all purpose for garden veggies in veg (24, 8,16) at half strength, my babies grow like miracles! just make sure you start at 1/4 strength with it if you use it... full strength can burn...
Ok. Yeah, I'm going to get flamed too, but I've used miracle gro bloom boost and have been using it with Crystal one week before I began flowering her. She's so full of bud spots it's incredible. (After 16 days of being forced most of her bud spots are near an inch long and phat!) To help out with the flavor a bit I've added natural cane sugar, she had her first dose this morning. I read in Heads and High Times that it is a very good thing to add natural cane sugar to the mix. I see nothing wrong with Miracle Gro as long as the girls get a good flushing before the harvest. If it works, use it! Peace!
sugar or molasses (mls works best) are good to help them metabolize nutes. i reccomend you get greenlight super bloom to use in flower; that stuff is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! its basically a super phosphate with a nice balance of n and k. i stopped using mg in flower and found it affects taste, but not potency (mg makes it taste floral and perfumy, even when stopped two weeks b4 harvest and flushed four times....)
Quickie Update:
I have successfully germinated my 2nd HP13 bean. It cracked and grew a nice tip in less than 24 hours. (Holds breath...) I've started her in a peat moss pot to make the transplant a bit smoother, just seems easier to rip away a pot then it does removing the rootball from the pot itself. I'm hoping this will cause less stress and less stress is a good thing. Don't worry, I'm not going to transplant it pot and all like the package suggests because I've learned that peat pots can cause root-boundedness and stunt growth. Tonight I'll have pics. Peace.
As promised, here's an update with pics!
The first 4 pictures are of my Neville's Haze babies. They are two weeks old today.
The last pic is my baby Afghani. She's 6 days old today. (and in desperate need of a transplant!)
First picture is Gail who isn't doing so well because of soil problems. She has been severly pruned. Unfortunately in her beginnings I transplanted her into different soil....big mistake.
Second picture is my runt, Olivia....remember her, the one who had no cotyledons and whose pot I dropped. She's lookin' good now, glad I didn't give up on her!
Third picture is half of my grow room. (Upper right corner is baby station! Two planted, HP13 and waiting to crack ground!)
My other three girls are in flower right now so I'll take pics later. Peace!
hi proglo, i just wanted to say that i think it'd be better if you waited about 3 weeks to transplant to big pots. this will allow time for the babies to for a root ball, and then all you have to do is let the soil dry, pull out the dirt/root ball, and place it in its new home (i go with 3g).
when i transplant, i layer the bottom with new soil, place the dirt/root ball in and fill a couple of inches more than the top of the old dirt, and drench it all down with green light's root stimulator. root and plant growth EXPLODE!!!
mmho...
love, kp:p
Thanks Kindprincess, I'll keep that in mind for my next transplants. I like the thought of root and plant growth exploding. :D It makes perfect sense! I learned the hard way that 3 gallon pots would be more suitable for my girls' final resting place. And because of this I learned what was going wrong with Sophie....her soil was packed tightly and her roots nearly surfaced so I had to perform major surgery. I loosened up her soil quite rigorously and in the process was forced to sever some roots. Of course her growth has been stunted as a result but I think the looser soil and better oxygen intake will do her such good that she'll bounce back with vigor! Thanks again....Peace!
one thing about xplanting... the roots will find their own way; you don't have to "loosen" the soil. as a matter of fact, i'd suggest you leave it as compact as possible for transplanting. in less than one day, you'll have new roots everywhere, and by not disturbing/hurting the roots, there's no downtime or stress/shock.
love, kp:p
ps, i'll post some xplant pix tonite.
Woooooo, nice job G! Is that Afghani the black kind you spoke of? Your mentioning of this "HP13" makes me think I need to go look it up!
So, (for anyone) is natural cane sugar better than black strap molasses?
Oh and stinky, you owe me a new keyboard! The Euro sportwagon and Thule rack comment made me spew - it's so true, they're friggin EVERYWHERE! :D
Hiya Blue! Good to see you back! To answer your question, I've heard molasses is the best but the natural cane sugar gave my flowering ladies a giant boost so I'm not complaining. Yes, I'll take pictures of them as soon as possible. Crystal's a nearing 3feet tall now! Yikes. Jody's definitely a Jody and as luck would have it, I'm almost certain that Sophie's gonna stay Sophie! Yay! Nope, not the black Ghani, <I wish> but....who knows what the future will hold? Just a common strain from Nirvana! Speaking of Nirvana, I'm still waiting on my beans from Dr.Chronic! (Impatiently I might add!)
Pics and a thorough update to come tomorrow! Peace!
Just dropped in and have been reading through your grow, and I must say.. looking great!! I just ordered some seeds from Dr. Chronic for my very first grow.. can't wait to get started.. :D
Anxious to see Crystal... she sounds huge! Good luck with the rest of your babies! :)
Howdy Zephyrinne....love your name by the way! (I had a cat named Zephyr, sadly she caught the cat flu and passed on!:( ) Thanks for your comments and for stopping in!
Update!
Crystal is 50 days old and on her 19th day of flowering! She's looking good but she's zapping all her nitrogen to form those buds and let me say that there's a lot of them. Pics tonight, hopefully! Height/width tonight too.
Jody is doing very well. She's on her 4th day of flowering and is starting to spread out like a Christmas tree! By the looks of her, she's going to be a high yielder, but time will tell. Height/width tonight too.
Sophie is on her 2nd day of flower and is 32days old. I'm forcing her early because I've got her in a small pot. Again, I'm not too concerned about the yield, just the quality. Height/width tonight too.
Gail is recovering, but has been so pruned that I think her yield will be miniscule. I'm too attached to kill her so I'm just going to let her veg a great deal more before I even consider flowering her. She's now 12" high.
Olivia is looking spectacular. She's 32 days old and 9" inches high. Not bad for no cotyledons and being dropped. She's filling out quite nicely and I think she's going to be a good producer.
My Neville's haze are 16days old and 2 are 5" high with 12 sets of true leaves and 2 are 4" high with 8 sets of true leaves. Their color is wonderful and so far, no blemishes.
Kindprincess, I took your advice and transplanted my youngest Afghani, I think I'll call her Carly, into a 3 gallon pot. I used Bonide's root and grow to stimulate her roots a bit, so now all I have to do is watch her explode!
My HP13 are coming along slow, though they have popped through the soil, they have yet to stand up tall and show me their cotyledons...they must be shy.
Ok, hopefully I'll have pics tonight! Peace!
HP13--a hash plant cross- AMAZING smoke, strong, WOWQuote:

Euro sportwagons... lol... SO cliche, but SO stealth. I've been pulled over plenty of times for lightbulbs out, with all sorts of questionable crap in the car, and I always get the polite, 'Good evening ma'am, were you aware that you have a headlight out and a dead body stuck in your grille? I just wanted to make sure you knew! Have a wonderful evening!'
HiPro your plants are looking great and you are going to be SOOOO happy with the T5 light for seedlings. It is IMHO the absolute best product on the market for starting young plants. It may be a bit much for clones though unless you get it up to at least 6" away.
Pic Update:
Pic 1=Olivia measuring up. Note the bottom leaf damage due to noob neglect!
Pic 2=Haze sprout measuring up.
Pic 3=Another haze sprout measuring up!
Pic 4=Shy little HP13 sprout.
Pic 5=My new pot with my baby Afghani named Carly. (This is for you Kindprincess!)

lookin good babe

Ok, here are my flowering beauties...two of which don't have flowers yet...just pre-flowers.
Pic #1- Jody
Pic #2-Sophie
Pic #3-#5- Some of Crystal's buds forming at day 50, day 19 of flowering.
Crappy Cell Pics, sorry!
Here are a couple more pics of Crystal.
Nice.. Crystal is looking pretty nice. Beautiful plant.
I'm germinating about 6 Schwag seeds right now since im going to be a first time grower I dont wanna grow anything to seriouse yet. I'm going to get the hang of growing Schwag and then order some good seeds after I see that I have succeded with learning how to grow.
Thanks for the compliment and welcome to my log Kb420Kb. I think growing schwag for a beginning grow is a good idea. Crystal is just plain ole bag seed, but I've learned more than my fair share from growing her. Good luck with your grow and I'll stop in when you have your log up and running. Peace!
Bump...
I'm ordering some Thai-Tanic beans first thing tomorrow morning. Has anyone ever grown it? Any tips? Thanks in advance. Peace!
