Yeah, when it comes to rhymes I prefer Papoose and Method Man over anyone, but when it comes to setting off a party with the herb and some ladies I prefer Fifty or Rich Boy.

Every aspiring artist..
"Can I get a beat." lol If I had a dolla for every artist I ran into thinking they were the shit I wouldn't have to work. Not puting you guys down its just hilarious how many people get influenced by known artists and pretty much emulate what they hear. If I let you spit on my mic. I can tell you who you listen to in the first 20 seconds. Don't listen too close guys you might come off too much like your idols, and whats new about that music. Might as well kareoke.
For that matter, please don't rap on known track instrumentals. As soon as someone gives me a demo and some dre beats come on and some mexican or whoever starts to rap all fucked up. Its turned off and exited the building. Lol
Bullshit hip-hop / rap has been around a long time now, the trend is shifting, but now its all about saying how fucked up the industry is and the quality of the music. Now nas is saying the same shit I was saying years ago. Pretty much about their style. First it was NY then it was the West coast Now its the South.. Sigh... Yo can I get some canadien rap eh?
DISCLAIMER: I'm not comparing myself to Nas but for the example, the trend is being adopted by many trying to cash in on whats true. BTW I didn't know Jay Z was the ceo of rap... LOL I don't own "A" JZ cd, his shit is tired.. he didn't make 10 albums+ he made one album 10 times.
Hell yea bro. Lets get innovative, bring those blues back, what the hell happened to pimps and love.Quote:

yo yo yo, workin at KFC,
Colonel sanders and me,
Making some extra crispy
Mashed potatos?
or sliced tomatos,
I'll show you where the cherry cobler goes,
There is my rap.
Plus, reading your rap makes me see that you're just as hypocritical and wrong as any christian. But that's ok I guess.
Thats the other thing about rap. To me.. again reffering to my experience.
When I run into someone they ask me what I do, I tell them and all of a sudden their a rapper. From raps or lyrics or poems you can understand what someones thinking inside their head, its common to have conflict inside your head but when you rap something it has to come very clean and to the point, this is why the "skill" when someone does have it, its rare and unique.
Fun to be into, I've been writing for a very long time and I'm still never really satisfied with my delivery and choice or words. Which is why I'm not a vocalist lol. I'll help people with theirs or make suggestions which is all I'm doing atm repying. In my work its touchy to suggest changing lyrics & verses. Being that if I help em change their song, I've just co-wrote the song. Makes em weary and usually we never go past thinking about a song which saves me time.
I encourage you to read. As much as you can. Empower yourself dog, you need ammunition if you wanna spit from your head. You have to see it so many times that when you are prompted to write you already know pretty much what you're gonna say. Practice saying stuff slowly throughout your day that is valid and describing what you're doing within your day. Then make it deeper applying a metaphor that explains the same thing while at the same time adding the hip hop delivery of syllables in time with your beat. I encourage you to out do and re-invent yourself. I bet you'd be surprised. Get creative man not negative. Only a positive mind can ever come up with something extraordinary that people will recognize..
All the rest of yall... Tell you like dis...
Eat a phat _____ B_____ And I'm callin out Names! - Kurupt
Although... I do suggest you do copy artists you hear just to get the idea of how to put styles together or develop your own from. Everyone does that yes. I advise it to people I run into and alot of musicians I know say the same thing to me. I'm a student of music as well so whatever I'm messin with its the guys ahead of me that I look to for their experience to borrow and move forward myself from. I'm interested in hearing if any of you guys here have talent. Be fun to do some songs together for fun.
I'm my black. Chevro-let...

You should get into football or hockey. Great way to channel your agression. Instead of killing a person, kill a puck. Then get good enough to control it. Brings you great joy and stress reliever. Plus you're creating those endorphines that promote happy-ism.
Writing lyrics is by far one of the best ways to speak your mind and get stuff off your chest. :)
You need a wider vocab. MastaChronic. To hip-hop or rap, your voice is ygour weapon. Much like a guitar player uses their guitar to speak loud and clear, but in your case, it's your voice.
So I suggest you get a thesorous (sp?) and switch up some words that have an impact. :)
And if you're going to put down certain things, like religion in your case, then back your writing up on why you feel that way. Saying, "I hate religion, it's all BS" or something is not good enough. Explain why you hate it, examine the words and give them some flow, and what you say will stick with people more. :)
fuck yeah christians have probably caused at least 50% of intetntional deaths since the beginning of the religionQuote:
