The cold does bring out any purple colour in your plants during flowering.

Would that purple color stay during drying and curing?

The purple should stay but its very strain dependant on how much they turn at what temp as fas is i understand. My White rhino had red bits in it. It didnt make it stronger but it looked dam good.

We topped one of our smaller plants a couple days ago...

Does the actual stem grow into 2 or does the growth on the nodes take over?

The new growth will come from the nodes unles you F.I.M. ed it.

Check it out, here is the plant we topped then LST'd. See the two tops formed where the stem splits? This one produced a few large tops, instead of a bunch of little ones. And over all it had the most even canopy.

 This one was just LST'd.
 http://boards.cannabis.com/attachmen...4&d=1163400809

I dunno, its hard to compare, cause they're not the same strain. But I like topping once then tying, seemed to work nice. The other two were tied, then we fim'ed all the new tops that formed. Now one of them has like 44 tops that i can count. But they are all small tops, as opposed to the few larger ones.

I can't wait to see how yours turns out. Lst'ing is a beautiful thing to watch, i love the way the plant transforms its shape just because you bent it.

		RideTheFire's indoor mids grow
Just found out that the HPS thats being given to us is 400watts w/ ballast. We should be setting it up around 10:00pm tomorrow. Im thinking that we may want to veg for an additional week with HPS-let them get a little bigger.

In an effort to make this thread somewhat educational, ill start posting some of the problems we've encountered, as well as the ones we are currently having throughout the rest of the thread. Again, Any comments/criticism/advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

-Being under CFL's, we wanted to maximize the amount of light that the plants were getting to ensure tight, close nodes. To do this we pushed all pots very close together. Without realizing, during moving the plants for LST, Watering, Etc, some of the ends of leaves have been pinched off. This doesn't seem to have caused very many problems but I am afraid that it may have stunted growth a little.

-Im currently using miracle grow grow products as soil/nutrients. I am well aware of the bad reputation miracle grow has, but seems good so far but only time will tell. Maybe next grow ill do a half miracle grow to see how ineffective it actually is...

-We dont have any PH tester... Should I give them distilled water instead of tap?

Thanks again to those of you who comment...

Quick question. I have plants that are about 2 to 3 feet tall. Can I still LST them? Any ideas to make yield better when I start to flower them?

Someone correct me if i'm wrong... Yes, you can still LST if you want. Just be VERY careful not to break them. the older they are, the harder they are to train. You should have to re-tighten all the strings a few times to get your desired bend, as it will break if you try to do it in one. I have one plant that I didnt LST the main stem-just been tying down larger fan leaves to help the new growth get light. Seems to be working pretty well thus far. How long have you been veggin?
 Good Luck!

More pictures to come tonight so stay tuned (and high) :rasta:

It's been about 3 months so far, just need to run to Lowe's and buy an adapter for my timer, but if I can LST I will before the startin' the flower cycle. I also wanna maybe top one and LST, and take some clones, and start switchin' ferts for flowerin'. So much to do, busy busy...

I was smoking and got to thinking how I would LST a 3 foot plant... And I thought about this thread I saw on LST... It may help.
Wow, You are going to have a beast! LST would probably be your best option, but I dont know how much space you have to work with. If you decide to LST, I would love to see the log for it :) .

Heres the link http://boards.cannabis.com/showthrea...&highlight=LST, It explains the picture attached.

I heard of a man who LST'd a tree outside his house to fashion a CHAIR that could be sat on! Imagine how long THAT took! Dedication, man, dedication.

Hey guys, plants are doing pretty well... Soil was bone dry before we watered, which I think did a lot of good for them. The pictures shown are directly after watering and misting them, so they are a little more 'perky' than the pictures show. Smells better everyday!

Posting some pics of our setup, as well as the plants...

Get a ph tester! and some ph up and ph down. these are very important, and you are just hurting your plants and yourself without them. test and adjust your water and nute solutions.

having the wrong ph can keep your plants from absorbing some nutrients, so you want to have it btw 6.2-6.7

Thanks, good luck with your "children!" I believe my plants were so stunted due to the PH of the water I was giving them.

Yeah.... that's the one thing that I really wish we had. Ill have to make a run to get one tomorrow. I believe that with properly Ph'd water, our plants would be huge right now. You've inspired me to go get one. Thanks :rasta: !

Those pictures were taken right after we hung up the light... We've def. made some improvements since then. You are right, it makes a huge difference having all of the light reflecting down. Appreciate the input.

Still having some troubles uploading pictures-perhaps they are too large. Will keep trying though. Thanks everyone for joining in on the thread. Every post is just that much more motivation to keep going... so thanks! :joint1:

Saw a couple ants in the grow area two day ago, didn't think too much of it because there weren't very many of them. Yesterday we moved around the plants and realized that we had a problem in one of our pots.:(

That plant is temporarily outside until we take care of the problem.

 These ants are TINY!!!

 Any ideas?????

I did have ants on my peppers for awhile. They didn't seem to really be causing any harm. I'd see them scurrying around the lips of the pots and shit just running about like they were up to no good, but never saw any problems. I finally got rid of them by spraying pesticide around the door to my closet since that's the only way in and out. No more ants in the grow room. Now they're just in the kitchen and the living room, but fuck those places.

Sounds like my little invaders. Yeah, it didn't really seem like they were doing much harm, but I didn't want to wait for that to change. Ended up getting some ortho... Kills over 100 bugs and is safe to use on plants... Took care of them in less than 24 hours. All is well again!

Our 1st confirmed female (#1) is getting more and more hairy everyday! Good News!! our 1 confirmed female has now become 2. I suspect a male already (macro pic on next post) but not totally sure yet-you tell me! 2 down, 6 more to sex.

We haven't been fertilizing due to the soil we bought (MG rose soil for OUTDOOR use, not pots). They seem to be doing okay w/o nutes- the soil said feeds up to 3 months. Are there any nutes that I can add to my water worry free?

Anyways... Heres updated pics. Hope you enjoy (enough to leave some love/advice:D )!

Anyone think I have a male on my hands? Im not totally sure, but if it is, its just taking up space...

put your hand under your light, when it feels warm but not hot place your plants about that close.
