My Grow Box Setup! ~Pics~

PLease don't let this thread die. This is my most serious grow yet and I need all the Comments, Criticism, Feedback, and Motivation I can get. :(

Hang in there, man. Just keep posting. You gotta give people time to respond. Sometimes I leave my thread for a few days and it moves completely down the list and no one posts, but the 'view' count always goes up. There are always people watching/looking. :D

Your grow looks nice. I like the way you set up your exhaust vent and fan across the bulbs. Did you say what the temps were in there? Oh nevermind, now I remember seeing that thermometer (familiar one, lol) and with CFLs, it's pretty easy to keep them low. Do you keep the box closed most of the time?

Glad you repotted, I think that was part of the problem back on Nov 11. They were not in big enough pots. They have really started to grow since then, eh? Nice light blockers/reflectors on the tops. I'm really gonna have to look into that. Rockwool is very susceptible to mold. :(

Egorette looks nice. Definitely the strongest. hope she's a she. :o The others look decent, but not as beastly. They look like they are possibly a little over-watered. Do you have a soil moister meter? Make sure you let them dry out well before watering again.

Other than that, good grow, man. Very nice sofar. No worries, I'm not an expert or anything, just read a lot, but I will try to keep up with ya. We can all learn together....awww. lol

Excellent grow buddy.. top notch.. hope you yeild well.. but remember the bigger the pots the bigger the plants .. get some big ass pots and just leave them init i only transplant once.. when the seedling is about ten leaves.. put it into its finall home.. means no messing about.. let the babies do their stufff. athena and egorette. look really nice... if you have plans there coud you post me a copy.. im looking to build a hydrosetup. in a stealthy box just like yours...also.. any yellowing thatuickly dries out.. is heat stress .. be very careul.. they grow so quick

plants look healthy.....that's a buttload of CFL's

Now i have PROPER ventilation lol, I got a fan sucking in cooler air. This should increase humidty a little bit and let the plants breathe better. Also, it will lower the temperature and help reduce the light burn they're suffering from. I have a question though. How can I raise thew Humidity even further to reach a good 71%? I heard that 70%ish is perfect for veg right?

Just an update on the little plants of mine:

1. Something is going terribly wrong with Egorette. Her leaves are getting all retarded, yellow, and dried out. WHATS GOING ON!? The same is happenign to Rhonda but she looks even worse. This sucks...

Hey just letting you all know I used some SuperThrive on them today and hopefully it'll help get them bigeer. I raised the lights up about 8 inches higher then they were as well. I need to start getting a little more height on them so I feel like they're bigger than they are lol. I got only $80 on my check today too so i guess ill have to buy the parts to my HPS and rig it up myself. Shitty :( If anyone has guides on how to do this, it'd be tight as hell if you showed me them, lol.

I just put a humidifier in there that i borrowed from my friend. Will this help you think? it doesnt look like it will because all the mist just gets sucked up through my ventialtiona anyways. ITS BUGGIN ME GUYS! Post on my thread :( no one does anymore :(

Just wanted to post some pics of the humidifer and the raising of the lights for some stretching growth. The plants are too small and I wanna get them a little bit taller. :thumbsup: :dance:

1&2.Athena- My little beauty. She is straight up PURPS homies.

3.Rhonda- Slowly getting some new healthy growth on the top. We'll see if it makes it through.

4.Egorette- Although her leaves are sorta messed, she looks very perky and willing to grow!

5.Stubs- Still becoming one of the stronger plants of the group. It's really starting to explode. I CAN NOT WAIT until I get that HPS. :dance: :dance:

I freaked out on you guys. I'm sorry.:'(

Here's the new light set up. Bought 6 Fixtures from home depot for like a $1.50 each and some white and black wire. You just cut little spots in your MAIN wire(kinda like a cola on a bud plant) for the wire t connect to, and have them branch off towards the fixtures. Screw it all together, tape the prongs on so you can plug it in and VUALAH! plus their on a timer now (18/6) because they only use 1 plug. It's VERY VERY VERY convenient and if you have a ghetto CFL setup, I HIGHLY recomend you switch to this method. It's worth the couple of bucks you spend. I put a whie CardStock box from dillards on top of all my wires so it looks a little more "tidy" in there. PLUS now that i dont have SEVEN plugs going into a power surge, it looks Much better already ha ha.

Heres the plants. ONLY ATHENA IS HEALTHY! It Sucks so bad. TELL ME WHAT THE "F" IS WRONG!? We're at almost a good month now. They should be bigger. I stole a Mercury Vapor or maybe its MH (I dont even know) from an old abandoned street lamp that never gets used anymore. Ill be making an entirely new thread on some help getting that shit running :/

Seems they're over nuted, further suggested by the top leaves not being burned. Not sure why they're still small, sorry. Too much nutes, too little light?

I'm going with what I said before.. I think you should put the plants closer to the lights.

Compare the distance between the plants and lights of yours:

Some of those lights (ie: the one on the left) are doing very little to help..

Also, again, what spectrum are those CFLs?

I honestly have to say that it looks overwatered/poorly drained. I'm not a soil expert by any means, nor am I an expert on anything, but that's what it looks like to me. I don't think it is a light deficiency, although I DO recommend that you raise your plants up to within inches of your CFLs. It also looks like you have some kind of deficiency. I don't know off hand what it is, but you can look at the Plant Abuse chart to get a better idea. I think both Bobbong and Psycho4Bud have it in their sigs. I linked it somewhere too. I should have the damn thing in MY sig. Anyway...

Speaking of which, is it just me, or has their been a quite staggering increase in the # of 'first grows' in the last few months? Just a possible observation.
