I have a hypothesis which must be tested!

use distilled water. i smoked with it, and it smoked smoother. i think this is the cause for all these contradictions between logical scientific proof (that THC is not h2o soluble) and experience (a joint or blunt gets you fucked up). tap water, which most of use use is full of flouride, vitamins, all kinda of shit. distilled water is pure H2O, meaning it will be better able to remove tar and stuff from the smoke. I smoked one bowl outta my double bubbler with distilled water last night and then watched a movie, fucked out of my mind. i was also high for a lot longer time

If it's 3%, then your experiment will be 97% worthless, because 97% of the experience will probably be the same, seeing as 97% of the stuff is water

Where is there oxygen?

Guys, H2O2 and H2O and O2 are two entirely different compounds. Just because it has a molecule of oxygen doesn't make it oxygen.

You have no device that can test how much is actually being filtered, and you have no idea why the hit would burn more than usual, because there are hundreds of other variables. Just because it burned doesn't make you right, and it doesn't make you wrong either because you're going about the process the entirely wrong way.

Third, why?. Even if it is cold, the difference in filtering has nothing to do with the freezing temperature, it has to do with the difference in temperatures between the two mediums.

Which brings me to my last point. 3% hydrogen peroxide can cause nausea, vomiting, or burning. 3% hydrogen peroxide would probably freeze around the same point as water, seeing as how they're freezing points aren't that differently. Of course, there's no way to tell without experimentation.

ok, instead of taking the risk of hydrogen peroxide in your bong, hasnt anyone thought of buying a bong with ice nubs in it. you can fill the bottom with warm water, and put ice in the top. thus filtration, and a cool hit.

let me know if my logic is wrong

couldnt you just use hot water, and get an ice catcher? i dont mind that much if theres a bong in front of me ill hit it, i dont care what temp the water is haha :thumbsup:

Contrary... if the water molecules are closer together, it leaves little room for other molecules to pass thru them. :D

Ice does not cause you to smoke more tar and chemicals, ice cold water will tho.
Using warm water and ice is really the best way although i heard smoking with ice slowly fills your lungs with water... (very slowly)

As for this H2O2... im not sure as organic chem was a few semesters ago, but im pretty sure peroxides generate free oxygen radicals, which are very bad for any living tissue....

i feel bad for any1 who tried this.

i dont know about this hydrone proxidide..haha i like to keep it just water in my bongo.

but ive noticed that when i filled my phx up with super cold water (brita water) and ice cubes...its pretty smooth and frankly i think it kinda makes people drool more on the pull of the hit.

but putting hot water in it (and the ashcatcher) i think you get a much smoother hit. so while youd think cold water and ice would be bomb...hot water is so much better. plus no drooling...

take that for what you will...

alcohol absorbs a neglible amount in the few seconds your smoke travels through it. Go ahead and just cool that below freezing for a really chilled hit.

No. It has nothing to do with how close the molecules are, it is simply that things dissolve easier in a warm solvent than a cold one. But the affect would be minor, a far better way would be to a really tall bong, or one which forms really small bubbles.

why not just get a double barrel bong, put really hot water in the first chamber, freezing water in the second?

For those of you who inhaled, you have set up the first steps in developing emphysema, a serious lung disease. The only way to reverse those first steps is to stop smoking anything immediately! Depending on the dosage, and here I'm assuming you only took one small hit from the bong, anywhere from a week to a month of abstinence should be enough.

Please, if in the future you have an idea, check it out first! Even my simple search of the web turned up this information.
