Well I took a college course on packaging where we talked about microwaveable products.Quote:

infact, they're coming out with new microwaveable foods that are actually healthier than normal "stove cooked" foods.
yea... surprised me too.
hold a flame under aluminium foil... see that smoke that comes off it.. what would that be? aluminium oxide? well whatever it is i dont think its gonna give you any health benifits, personally i just smoke spliffs
and if you smoked the orange bud X haze i get a spliff is strong enough :)
Nukeing something dostroys the melecular compond. It destroys all nutrinal value in your food, and when you eat it it is still nukeing, which makes little bits of you get nuked, and don't think the nukeing stays inside the microwave, anyone in your house is going to get nuked a little bit too.Quote:

If that were the case, I'd hook my microwave up to a steam turbine, then to the power grid, and register as a generation facility!
A microwave works by increasing the kinetic activity of water molecules, which in turn causes them to heat up, and your food gets hot.
No atoms are being split and rejoined.
Please.
I still don't like to microwave foods in anything other than glass or ceramic, because of the dangers of plasticizing compounds being released into your food.
Intrepidus, I really hope you are joking.
Microwaving something does NOT destroy the molecular compound all by itself.
The vitamins and enzymes that are vulnerable are the ones that are destroyed by HEAT, heat from any source.
And when you take something out of the microwave, it is not 'still getting nuked' (not that it ever was to begin with), it's still boiling because of the heat capacity of water to stay at that temperature after the heat source has been removed.
Reading that is like listening to someone saying, 'I don't understand how this works, therefore I fear it, and you should too'.
All I am saying is anything that does shit on the melecular level like that has the potential to cause harm. And microwaves are harmfull.
The smoke is frome your lighter, the grease on your hands, and the dust on the foil, you dumbass. It's called incomplete combustion.Quote:

Oh wait, you smoke.... changing molecules by combustion....uh oh, WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!!! AAAAAAAH!
Microwaves use unnatrual means to do this, fire is natural.
Aside from lightning starting a forest fire, how is fire natural? I'm pretty sure humans invented it.Quote:

Heat from any source can cause those changes, for example the whitening of eggs when cooked, of the process of baking bread.
Fire on the other hand is an oxidation reaction, and charring your food is oxidizing it and changing the molecular structure.
be AFRAID!!!! be VERY AFRAID!!!!
If I were you, I would eat nothing but raw fruits, acorns, and vegetables that were grown organically.
Oh shit, I forgot.... did you know that PCBs can be detected in the tissues of humans all over the world, even in so-called 'primitive' cultures where they live hundreds of miles from 'civilization' and subsist on nuts and berries?
I guess we should all just kill ourselves now and get it over with, because the alternative is living in FEAR!!!!
Wow heat is just one of the many variables that has to be taken into acount. Take for instance what if there is some aluminum dust on the foil and you breath that in. Or what if you get the ghetto brand of aluminum and its made in a 3rd world country where standards are losely instrected making the tin foil less aluminum. To many contradicting tests have been done. Why use aluminum when you can buy a pack of rolling papers for $1 or buy a bowl for $10.
I refuse to continue this conversation with such close minded indaviduals.
Oh, and you don't seem very smart either: "Aside from lightning starting a forest fire, how is fire natural? I'm pretty sure humans invented it." How the hell could you invent something that occurs naturally? That's like saying "I invented palm trees" No, you didn't invent them, you DISCOVERED them.
Humans DISCOVERED fire, you can't invent it.
Vocabulary builder:
Invent:
in‧vent /ɪnˈvɛnt/
–verb (used with object)
1. to originate or create as a product of one's own ingenuity, experimentation, or contrivance: to invent the telegraph.
2. to produce or create with the imagination: to invent a story.
3. to make up or fabricate (something fictitious or false): to invent excuses.
4. Archaic. to come upon; find.
Discover:
dis‧cov‧er /dɪˈskʌvər/
–verb (used with object)
1. to see, get knowledge of, learn of, find, or find out; gain sight or knowledge of (something previously unseen or unknown): to discover America; to discover electricity.
2. to notice or realize: I discovered I didn't have my credit card with me when I went to pay my bill.
3. Archaic. to make known; reveal; disclose.
Microwaves occur naturally too. As a matter of fact, you're getting x-rayed right now.Quote:

I've always ( well, not always, but for years now) heard about the aluminum foil/alzheimer's thing, but it's never really been a big deal to me.
But do remember people, you're probably smoking dangerous chemicals when you start using the non-stick stuff. I mean, if teflon or other non-stick coatings get scratched off your pan, it's supposed to be dangerous because you could ingest it. Imagine what smoking it would do.
Why don't you just grind up some foil and roll it up with your bud. Mmmm mm, now that's what i call a delicous smoke!

Hey, good idea! And microwave it before you smoke it! :DQuote:

Fuckin Halarious!!!!
alumunium does cause alzheimers.everytime i drink beer from cans. i cant remember what i did the night before. and i did invent fire one day in the woods by rubbing two sticks together and bam . a product of my own ingenuity. hmmm maybe an intro first?
It isnt the melting point of aluminum foil you have to worry bout, it the oxidizing temp... i think aluminum oxide is a toxic chem
THANK YOU!!!!! We have a winner.Quote:

Stinky I have to disagree with you. I believe that microwaves destroy more nutritional value than any other cooking method. They all destroy some but microwaves are the worst.Quote:

Yeah, the free radical itself sort of makes vitamin C moot. They join, the vitamin loses its antioxidant activity.
so we agree.
yea plastic is bad in the microwave. and this stupid mini newspaper in vancouver called 24 just ran a frickin article about how it's ok to put "microwave safe" plastic in and using plastic wrap too!
there have been studies done that show that dioxins and other stuff leach into the food and in the case of plastic wrap over food it acutely drips into it!
back to the topic.
a study was done showing that cannabis activly prevents alzheimer's disease!!!!
it competively inhibits some improtant enzyme. I've seen the study
so if the aluminum does--- the pot might stop it
"Aluminum, at temperatures below melting point, does not give off gas or vapor."
you cant melt aluminum with a lighter
and as far as i know there still isnt a known cause or any preventitive measures you can take for alzhiemers.
as my favorite zany mythbusters say..
"busted"
Well yes but that's in an inert environment...Quote:

i personally read the study about an hour ago actually.
Another study on cannabis, shows that THC completely inhibits this molecule involved in causing AD.
The inhibition of this molecule is how other preventative drugs for AD work.
Heres a quote:
??Compared to currently approved drugs prescribed for the treatment of Alzheimer??s disease, THC is a considerably superior inhibitor of AB(beta) aggregation.?
This isn??t 100% proof though. More studies needed. But it looks good
...your saliva is either acidic or basic. it is not neutral. your oven does not get as hot as a lighter...there is no flame in ur fuckin oven. you only use it at 450 at most. usually around 350. lighters have flame. so shove my dick in ur mom and cum, bitch! i am high as fuck. vaporizers pwn ir pipe.Quote:

man if we proved that, why not instead of having studies. They can pay abunch of high people to argue about stuff.
actualy... microwaves, just make certian molocues bounce up and down and all around, creating friction... heating the food...Quote:

I think that using plastic would be worse for you. Plastic melts. Baaad times. The aluminum would have to vaporize to get into your body, which it wouldn't with just a normal lighter. In my neurophysiology class, aluminum was never mentioned as any risk factor to Alzheimer's. We extensively covered the disease. The disease is just neurofibrillary tangles caused by some protein defect...too lazy to think much more about it right now.
