No signs of any new colas appearing from the topping yesterday, i just hope they'll show within the next few days...
Does anyone know on average how long a plant this age should take to show them after being topped?
The black things in the pots are banana peels for added potassium, if you're wondering...

Week 5 ....... Day is wednesday...
Looking good, 2 plants are 1/2 a foot in height, and the others are not far behind...
Split up another banana peel between them all.
2 New colas from the FIM are starting to show on each plant... yipeee..

NEW PROJECT
Ok, all except 1 or 2 sprouts are showing out of soil.....
Wow, nice grow so far.
Oh, you really don't need to LST and FIM the same plant. Pruning, FIM or topping, causes stress to the plant. While this method does release the hormones that allow for branching it is more traumatic. Bending your plants will release these same hormones without putting additional stress on your plants. Another thing, not sure if you know or not but FIM or topping does not increase your overall yeild. In fact it has been shown to reduce yield in some cases and in others to show very little effect. Anything I said here was not meant to be in any shape, fashion, or form condescending.
Good luck and happy growing.
Happy Toking :rasta:
Not to worry, i've already topped them all about a week ago - started LST a day later but on that same day my brother told me they don't need LST aswell as topped, so i straightened them up once again.
Thanks, peace. :)_
I think I know why your planet are yellow try not to get the leaves wet sometimes the suns rays burn it P.S just a theory
K, i dont think you realised this is an indoor grow :PQuote:

i found some good cfl's at bunnings and the warehouse supprisingly, look for ones witha rating of 6500K and a high luminious efficentcy. my plants seem to be about twice as big as yours and mine are only 18 days old, but this is my fourth or fifth time using cfl's and oh the mistakes i have made not one plant made it to flower yet =(, I aint nokking your grow thou for a first time they are looking great. i will post pics tommorow for your veiwing pleasure....lol peace
shit didnt see those older pics, i was looking at the day thirty five pics yours are much bigger than mine
here are the pics of my 2 week old plant well nearly 3 weeks with weird leaves as u can see the leaves have stuck together instead of forming individual "fingers" they have stayed together.
thanks, but i bought those with the last money i had, lol must sound like a lil girl saving for lolly money or something, but yea, na im a poor cunt so those were all i could afford...didnt realise the 2 tornado ones were actually warm white, but oh well apparently they work alright. Shouldnt really matter anyway, since they're only gonna be on them for another week or so then planted outdoors.Quote:

oooh yes they're lookign very nice!
it definelty is a torana mate im not to sure of the model Ls i think, i know what ya mean about being broke i recently got the sack so i am on the dole now.
the lights i got from the warehouse are the edapt brand and they work supprisingly well and are cheap.
I am sure the ones you have will work also, i only made the comment as i had looked at those and decided not to buy them as the cheaper ones from bunnings and the warehouse have better lumins and light spectrum.
if you are in NZ, how are they gunna go outside being winter now and all, i am waiting till xmas to put some outside or at least the end of september.
check to find out what your sunrise/sunset times are as at the moment here in QLD the night is currently 15 mins longer than the day which is not good for veg growth, tho they will grow i have found that if u plant on or just before xmas u can get them to 6-7ft outside before they start to bud in april-may.
The conditions are likely to be diffrent where u are so i guess its trial and error but i am sure u will get there.
another good tip that i got of this old bloke here in Aus is use heshian bags and fill them up with mushroom compost and lay them on the ground where u want to grow cut hole in the top of the bag and place your plants, do u get what i mean??. after they get to about a foot tall use 1 tspoon if urea (46% N) to 2 litres of water and then once a fortnight use aquasol as per directions on the pack.
i have used these instructions to grow my outdoors for years and have never seen anything better 7ft plants with buds as long as your arm and about as round as you wrist when dry fucking awsome
Hmmm...i dunno aye, i only just got back from digging aroudn at the place i was gonna plant them, and found out it wont work! There's an inch or so of soft dirt and the rest is hard clay so it wont grow there....gonna have to find another spot...fast!
It is cold i know, and i wanted to plant after 1st september...really, i did! but i'm just too impatient... if they don't grow, it's no biggie...seeds were free anyway. If they do, bonus christmas prezzie. :)
Lol:oto be honest i don't know shit about holdens - i grew up in sydney, & we used to have a bunch of them...they always fucked us over so i never really liked them - thats my excuse anyway :D
How old ru mate?
ok yeah holdens do suck (but it is a torana lol) and you drive what i want. NISSANS rule, i want a 2000 model 200sx.
im 26.
there are soil conditioners that you can get the will break up the clay soil but u will probibly need to plant a while after puting that in the soil. what i said about the compost and hesian bag will help you out a lot.
where i used to live was right in the ocean and the soil was shit for growing so thats why i started using the old blokes suggestion of the hessian bag.
if u can get any good quality soil and fill the bag and lay it down flat try to get enough soil to make the bag about a 30-40 cm thick when laying down,
this is what i would do i would get the soil condidtioner for the clay soil dig it in then level the soil back over the top lay the hessian bag over the top of that hole then plant into the bag after a while the roots will start groing down throught the bag (as it will break down naturaly) by this time the soil conditioners have worked there majic the roots whil have started to grown down into this soil. or you could dig out about a foot of dirt add the conditioners then replace the dirt you dug out with good quality soil then lay the bag down on top of that. either way it should work out ok
either way mate if u plant september first you will only have leaf and tip for xmas as it will be the middle of summer. as i said i put mine in at xmas that way you have to wait about 4 months for bud.
have you seen the OZstoners web site you might get a lil more info there as they know what the conditions are like south of the equator try this out.
i hate waiting for my crop every year so that is why i have decided to grow three or four crops a year indoors as well as my crop outside makes much more sense and i just love watching them grow.
https://cannabis.community.forums.oz....com/index.php
There are also alot of those gorse bushes (the really sharp prickly bushes with yellow flowers) around that area and next to where i wanna grow... their roots are thick as hell and hard to break, so i'll prob try find another place to grow...
yeah that might be a good idea lol
Hmm....i had a thought before...a pretty basic one lol...
I could just put them into big pots or buckets and hide them well... Would that work with a big sized pot? i dont c why not...
yeah it would, i have done one where i cut the bottom out of large pots 10-15 litre ones then placed them where i wanted them and added the soil then planted.
but you wouldnt have to cut the bottom out. but remember that you would have to have deep enough pots for them to get to you desired hight i read somewhere that the tap root of the MJ plant is about 1/3 of the overall height (someone correct me if i am wrong).
Todays pics (Friday).
Ladys growth seems stunted or something... seems like she's not absorbing the banana peel aswell (see shes the only one with a banana peel that is still yellow)....Hmm, i'm guessing she'll turn out hermie or something lol:(
I took 2 of the 3 6-pot thingies out of my wardrobe and put under the flos that the babies are using... they seem to like it alot more than the CFL's. Now the 6 seedlings left in my wardrobe get the CFL's for themselves

Hey guys. It's a torana ok. I drive a baby godzilla, so yeah nissans rock. Those cfl's your using are hardly worth bothering with but better than nothing. Colour spectrum is wrong and output so low I would'nt use on anything over 10 days old.budget is what budget is tho eh.POting mix solves your out door soil proplem easy but again budget. Indoors two out doors in nz is something I do Quite a bit. S12 I think you are further south than me and putting those youngsters out side wont make happy plants. Its still to cold and as they are young going from 18hrs of light to like 10 or 11 will make them go into bud imediatly ,great but unfortunatly as they are young they will struggle with the cold and low light therfore taking there time developing buds and then as the days get longer they will get the signal to go back vege growth.End result confused plants that never really do it. I find old mature mother plants planted out now are so ready to go to bud they do well, but again depending on what the weather does, if summer comes on Quickly It can make for loose buds. Its a bit off a case off try ya luck and see what the conditions do weather wise.Im about to plant out 3 month old stong clone's which should give me a good reward.By being older larger they are strong enough to handle the cold shock and go straight to bud. By being older they are chemicly very ready for reproduction and so hiting them with low light times and levels makes them go to bud very fast hopefully geting it over and done with before the days get to long and make for a confused plant that stops trying to finish. A good strain helps. No doubt we will be talking again. Remember the only thing you can wrong is to not try at all!
hmm my namesake is the tallest? not looking good for potty McPot pot. hope shes not a he.
nice advice kiwiglowbug
s12 i see your doing it big time , nice work keep it up.
Kiwi - thanks alot mate ;) good to see another kiwi stopping by.. yea, tis quite cold down here but the days are definatly starting to perk up - the bad frosts have gone and i'm not living in canterbury so i don't need to worry about all that snow... but i like what you said "the only thing you can do wrong is to not try at all" :)
Bob - not looking good? do male plants grow faster than females or something? lets just hope its a sheeee;)
Mobay - Good to see ya stopping by....cheers, will get pics up today.
Its been said that males grow tallest/fastest. I know that with my grow, that was true.
I know LOL goood job on the new grow, the fun is only starting my friend.
eeeek, poor potty :( lets just pray...Quote:

This is the fert i'm using every 'other day'....
concerning the ferts i have found that aquasol (if u can find it) or regular thrive to be quite good for flowering it has something like 13 percent Nitrogen 20 something percent potassium and about the same of phosphuros, both these should be can be brought from auastralia or NZ woolworths or any hardware store i have used dynamic lifter before and it tended to burn my plants and slowed there growth
Looking good thou s12 awsome grow:thumbsup:
Thanks buddy :D :D. Yep i have some thrive here, and a big BIG bunch of bottles for flowering, all types of gardening, etc!! I'll hav a closer read of them some time. :)
slowed their growth??? :( :( shit.
Hmm....
I'll try the thrive from now on then. :D :D
yeah that stuff and osmocote slow release ferts had detrimental effects on a few of my previous grows but i guess if u start with a lil bit and build it up it should be ok.
