i listen to pretty much all the bands that have been listed and a shit load more. if it wasnt for the ramones then pretty much all the punk bands youve listed wouldnt be around so give em some credit. at the end tho they were comercial a bit they even admited it themselves. i have the ramones documentury "turn of the centuary"...... what a dissapointment
The one thing I like best about punk rock shows. Is the whole atmosphere of it. The music is fast, the band is right there in your face and the pit is churning with much power. Go into the pit if you dare.
The craziest show I have ever been too was the Exploited with Type O Negative in Tijuana. I stagedived twice during that show. There were 3 pits fucking going hard. People were getting carried out of there. Insane. One dude even jumped off the balcony. Fun.
haha, the craisest show ive been to was a fuckin PIZZA parlor, in the middle of suburbia, and the cassavettes played, the dismay, etc. it was a 3$ show, and i got punched in the face 8 times, and the WHOLE place was a moshpit, no sittiing down, no just standing, no people on the side of the pit, pushing you every time you go by..no, it was one big mosh pit, the whole show, i dont even think i SAW the entire mosh pit floor it was so big.
That does sound like a crazy show. No chillin thereQuote:

There were some good punk bands but most were brain dead junkies that spent there days living on the streets portraying their tough persona. They amount to nothing and never produced a single album of anything worthy enough to be called music.
And the exploited used facist for security and their shows. Not to mention that they were a stage act of hypocrisy and idiocy.
The entire punk scene whose assumable goal is to rebel from the standard of society in a movement of its own really just amounted to isolating itself in its own set of rules. You see the clicke antics of scenes and a standardized and industrialized look to follow and assmiliate to. The entirity of punk in its liberation and independence truly just added another mindless group to add into a further confroming society. Whether someone is goth emo punk whatever they all are truly confining themselves.
Either way it doesnt matter, music choice is subjective and that is undeniable. But to fallow an group of artist similar creations with superficial rules is mindblowingly closeminded and sheep like that it completely defeats any movements integrity and a seperatist movement.

god no, i'm not bashing your music or anyting, but the reasons i won't listen to it is they try growling (believe me i know what i'm talking about, i have tried out numerous punk bands, some famous, some damn near impossible to find, online atleast) but for the most part, they all have these girly screech voices, which just irritates me, don't try to be something your not, if you wanna be in a metal band, then do so, otherwise dont' be a poser. as for the rest of them, i find them much like blink 182, which, if given the chance, i'd actauly kill them... i hate them... they're so fucking retarded, make the dumbest ass songs, and get paid millions... a starving kid in africa could make a similar song given the fact he knows english, why the fuck doesn't he make millions?
again i'm not bashing, but brand new (and i've heard a wide multitude of their shit, and i mean SHIT) has got to be the wrost so far:oQuote:

jesse lacey's a pretty amazing songwriter. check out the album deja entendu. i think you'd be kind of surprised. their new stuff that has leaked is also amazing. FAR from punk or pop punk, but just great songs with great lyrics.
Yeah, man, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Operation Ivy, Agent Orange, Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, Subhumans, World/Inferno Friendship Society, etc, etc
Bad Brains is probably my favorite.

lol, i get the feeling a few memebers are "on the wrong side of town" right now with this whole punk thing.
yup so true =/ it kind of sucks to have to listen to the same old stuff all the time, maybe finding a new song on a radio (or pandora <.<) once every 2 or 3 days.Quote:
