Well, I am pretty sure this is a male, but I just wanted to make sure...so I figured I'd post a pic for the panel to decide.
I seem to be having alot of problems right now. :( Besides the fact that about 70% of my plants are showing what I am pretty sure are male characteristics, I am also having a problem on some of the plants of the bottom leaves at the 2nd and 3rd internodes drying up and turning brown...doesn't seem like a good sign to me. :(
Either way, I wasn't hoping for the best on this grow since I started them outside and basically have no idea what I am doing other than what I have read. I have no "hands-on" experience and I can see now that I need to get much more of a feel for this before I can expect decent results...
My hat is off to all of you who successfully grow again and again... :smokin: :stoned:
Please tell me what you think if you have the time...They are at day 7 of 12/12.

Only two of the pictures are of the suspected (99% sure really) male plant.
Two pictures (blurry---sorry) of a suspected female. I thought so because I didn't see balls and I saw five or six white hairs
One picture of the browning and dying leaves...and one of the overall area.
I am seriously thinking about forgetting this grow and starting over from scratch! ;)
:smokin: Smokin'... :smokin: Smokin'.... :stoned: STONED

Thanks Mand! Most of the plants I have look like number four...only one has definite hairs that I can see and the others don't really seem to have anything.
I will take your advice and not abandon...:smokin:

yeah man dont abandon them :( !!! ur grow looks awsome... just stick with it and im sure ull be very happy with the results!!! by the way hows the drainage in those pots? they got any rocks or sand under the soil? cuz if the drainage isnt that great the dirt on the bottom can turn to muk and deprive ur plants of much needed oxygen, and stop them from the uptake of nutes, and could be the source of ur yellowing leaves... but all together very nice man and keep up the good work!:smokin:

Thanks Notorious! I do have some kind of lava rock or something in the bottom of the pots. I don't know exactly what it's called just comes in big, unlabeled bags here. They use it to grow house plants in or something...
I appreciate the vote of confidence!!!!:smokin:

Well, I sexed the plants today...as it turns out 7 were males, 3 are definitely females, and there are two more I am not too sure about yet. 7 days into flowering.
I also have a couple different problems that I would like to share...
Picture 1: A "before" shot of my grow op.
Picture 2: A close-up of one of the males.
Picture 3: A shot of one of my females
Picture 4: A problem I have on a couple of leaves....What is this? Is it nuteburn?
Picture 5: A top shot of one of my females.
Picture 6: Curling leaf...only one of my plants has this problem. Is that strange?
Picture 7, 12: Root system of the plants.
Picture 8: :cursing: BUGS? I am guessing as much, but so far only on THIS leaf.
Picture 9: Female plant.
Picture 10: Unhealthy leaf. :cursing:
Picture 11: After all was said and done.

I have a couple questions that I hope you can help me with...:D
Question #1: Take a look at pictures 7 and 12...I am worried that the pots my plants are in currently are not big enough because the roots seem to be running out of room...Should I transplant into bigger pots?
Question #2: If you have the time, please let me know what you think about some of the different problems I am having with some of the plants. Such as pictures 4, 6, and 10.
Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

yeah those plants are close to being rootbound so i would reccomend moving up to atleast a 10 inch pot.. and about the yellowing (i could be wrong) but it might be nitrogen def... so just up their nitrogen a little bit and it should be fine..

Be patient.
The males will show themselves.
But you'll end up with about half males and half females.
This is normal.
Transplant those into some bigger pots.
And from the looks of things.
The damage looks normal.
Leaves dying.
Ussually arent getting enough light.
So the plant uses it's nutes and it dies.

Thanks guys for the advice! :smokin:
Jdogg - How many lumens should be generated per square foot? I read somewhere 2,000 - 3,000 per square feet is ok for growing. I should have somewhere in between there with the amount of lights I have.
The plants picked up a lot today and are looking much healthier. :) But I am still not seeing a whole lot of new growth at the nodes, while the buds are starting to get more and more white hairs...if this isn't due to the light could it be rootlock? And will the plants be stressed alot if I transplant them now? It would be the second time already and I have them a week into flowering.
Can any precautions be made while transplanting so as not to stress the plants further?
Thanks! :smokin:

OK, I go by a simple rule.
50 watts per sq. foot at least.
So if you have a 400 watt light.
Thats a 2 by 2 foot area to grow in.
So just use this formula for your floro's.
The temp should be fine.
Might be root bound causing your leaves to do that.
You got a ph meter, right?
OK transplanting a flowering plant.
In my opinion there is only one way to do this.
And it inclueds cutting the pots they are in now.
You cut the bottom off.
Trying not to cut the roots too much.
A little is fine.
And could actually help root faster.
So cut of the bottom and set on top of a new pot full of nice new soil.
The roots will stretch into any space provided to them.

I monitor the ph of my water with the best thing I could find around these parts which was an aquarium pH meter...my water is around 6.0 according to it...

OK,it's probably root bound then.
Or over watered maybe.

I wouldn't worry about the undergrowth foliage looking less healthy. The canopy of the plant will usually look healthier and luxuriant. a lot of growers prune to get more light to the undergrowth, or use light that is mounted on the sides of plants, so that light reaches them horizontally, or just harvest the ripe buds and allow light to reach the lower portions and let them bud

Thanks Jdog7000 and Burnable! :rasta:
I have lights on the side...thats what I am worried about...they still seem to be dying.
:smokin:
But I think it will get better now because I transplanted them.
Yesterday whenI transplanted them the roots were bunched right up at the bottom, so hopefully they will have more room to grow out now.

How often do you water?
Do you let the soil dry out first?

I have one plant with the same leaf curling right now, what caused it was root damage during transplant, really set that plant back about a week. It did start to grow fast again, but almost a week later the curling leaves hasn't gone away, and I don't expect it to, all your new growth should be fine, but it will show some of that damage for life.
-
My First Grow Log...Comments Appreciated!
Don't worry if the leaves on your plants don't look perfect after a while.
It's wear and tear from stress and what not.
AS long as the new growth is fine thats what matters.
They ussually don't heal themselves.

Thanks Jdog7000 and 4x5! :smokin:
I have been watering them every couple of days as needed.
I water when the soil is dry to the depth of my index finger.
I am happy to hear the leaf damage is normal...I guess I felt a little worried because some of the growers on here dont seem to have too much leaf damage. I guess I'll get better with time... :)
I am also happy to report that the new growth is healthy AND....My plants have shown amazing growth in the past couple days since transplanting!!!!
I was shocked to see new internodal growth sprouting out like no tomorrow!
I guess they just needed a little more room after all...:smokin:
Thanks guys for all the help and interest! I will post some pictures in a couple days. :smokin:

I haven't given them nutes for nine days.
Any suggestions?

I need a little help...
As you can see in the first picture, the roots can easily be seen when I water. Are the plants rootbound? Or was the water maybe hitting the surface to hard?
Also, some of my buds have browning on the top but I want to keep them as close to the lights as possible so the rest of the plant flowers well...is this a bad idea? Because they seem to be growing into the lights everyday.
Thanks!

damn binz your plants are lookin good. in pic 1, maybe try and water from the bottom instead, to have the roots go down to get their water. instead of watering from the top . add a little more soil to cover the roots at the top. if not they will turn to wood

Hey All! :smokin:
Day 26 flowering
My plants were looking pretty bad a few days ago. I definitely burned them with nutes, so I flushed them and they are REALLY perking up.
The buds are starting to fill in and crystals are starting to form and spread out on the leaves. I am so excited. It's really starting to have a strong, skunky, citrus type of smell to it.
I would take some pictures but the camera is out of town at the moment.
Thanks guys for all your help and support! I couldn't have gotten this far without all of you!

Here are some pictures of my plants...:smokin:
They are about seven weeks under 12/12...I cut one down yesterday as two of them are showing a lot of yellowing and now brown, dead fan leaves...I am going to wait for it to dry until I cut the other one.
The other three seem to still be getting more crystals and getting a little bigger and don't seem to have as many yellow and dying leaves so I will wait to cut those down I guess.
BTW...I had to use a crappy camera today. I should have my old camera back after this weekend so I can take some good pictures.

Binz i just read through this whole post .congrats , thanks for putting this up. It helped me alot
A question about your lights though , on your first post you said" 7--90 cm. Phillips Fl. lights. (Veg. 6100K, 2175 lumens, 30 watt)
(Flowering--2900K, 2175 lumens, 30 watt)---for flowering I plan on using 5 2900K
Are these just ordinary fluros from a hardware store,or special garden ones?
In a hardware store all i see are fluros with "white" on the packet nothing about spectrum etc.
