Amen toker,
You can learn more from those that dont agree with you than those who do.
Its always interesting to me how blinded we do get by hate.
Me as much as anyone.
See how the other half live before you reckon youve got an opinion. :D
What facts do you want? I think your a little to quick with your auto reply button. You might want to back off it just a little until you know how to use it better. The way your using it now is making you seem rather silly to me.Quote:

I thought it was obvious. I'm posting about the Us because the original question was what are the rest of the worlds thoughts on Bush. Surely you havn't forgotten?
"I see! And you think that the way the US government is run is the way most Americans want it to be run?"
That's impossible for me to tell so the decent thing to do would be to simply not pass judgment on the topic. Oh wait, that's exactly what you did about Britain, despite, like most Americans, clearly knowing nothing about us, look ----> "England is kind of our Lap dog. Here boy, sit, roll over boy. Now be a good boy, and do as the Bushy says.". No your wrong, and i'm telling you for a fact. Most people would prefer the term 'ally' at the very least!
If I was you, I would be more worried about this then I was about the US. You seem to be letting them fuck you, and all you can do is bitch about US. I would think that you would be more interested in fixing your problems, and that one seems to be a big one, then in seeing how insulting you can be to US. I suppose some peoples prioritys differ quite a bit. If you can't control your own government, what the hell are you doing trying to tell US about ours for?
Because that was the original question you fucking dunce. I'll admit, I, like many people, have a few problems with the US government but in the long run, it really doesn't bother me. Like you rightly suggest, why should I be concerned about anyone elses government but my own? Well i'm telling you now i'm not. One can't help but be irritated by things that arn't their concern and the US government does irritate me, solely for the fact it's so full of shit but believe it or not I don't look around for some Americans to preach it to (I see your more the type for that, jumping into this thread and contradicting everyone because you've convinced yourself we're all wrong). In this case, I was asked, so I replied, but i'll sleap soundly tonight knowing that you and your problems are a million miles away. :D Believe that if you will!
"Oh yeah, we had to twist his arm real hard. ROTFLMAO!"
As if that has anything to do with the point I made.
Blind patriotism comes in a lot of forms. Your excusing Tony is blind patriotism. More then mine is, that's for sure. I don't make excuses for bushy, as I don't think there is any that could excuse his abuses. Am I patriotic? Yes, I am, but not in the negitive way you try to portray it as.
My apologies for jumping to conclusions!
I'm NOT a patriot by the way. I hate the UK with a passion. The stereotype might be that we're a peaceful, polite country that enjoys their tea but on the inside, we're just the fucking scrap yard of the world. Not that that's any of your concern so don't feel you need to comment on that.
"love it when people think that their view of the world is so much grander then others based on where they come from. It shows a real maturity and open mindedness to assume they somehow see more of the world then others do. Way to build yourself up there man. I guess since your so worldly I will just have to take your word as gosple truth from now on."
No you won't. I'm not a worldly person and never even suggested I was. I'm giving my feedback for the sake of the original topic (it's near the top of the screen if you've forgotten again) and to explain my attitude for you. I have my own view of the world with basis but I don't see it as grand. How can it be grand, look at what I just said about my own country  !
"I come across as an ass, but if you want to have a decent abuse free conversation, I can do that also. I prefer to talk with people that dissagree with me. You can learn from that. You can't learn from people that just agree with you."
Well i'm not sure if you can have an, as you say, abuse free conversation. You were so quick to bad mouth everyone that had something negative to say about America (including myself) that it seems the theory that not all arguments have to be abusive hadn't passed you by. Notice my first post on this thread, then the one directly after it. I logged on and told myself i'd express my opinions (once again, for the sake of the topic) with as little a negative attitude as possible. Did you consider that before you bounded on with all the 'oh yeah? well moan, moan, grumble, how would you know, moan, complain'. I didn't insult America and I still havn't. A negative response isn't necessarily an insult, and you can't take every negative response AS an insult. Otherwise, you get this; an abusive slagging match that's barely an argument.
If your truly willing to have an abuse free discussion on this subject, then it's as easy as doing it. If you took my first post the wrong way then i'm telling you now that I had only the best intentions, if however, it's simply a case of you not being able to accept my opinion that why insult it? It's not going to change!
Peace.
you tell him button
"I thought it was obvious. I'm posting about the Us because the original question was what are the rest of the worlds thoughts on Bush. Surely you havn't forgotten?"
No, I haven't forgotten. It would seem you, and most of the other bash the us crowd, have forgotten what the original question was though. It was indeed about bushy, not the US and who hated the US is. Nor was it a question on if the people of the US deserve to die. Since the original qestion was ignored, and the bashing started to be pointed at the people rather then Bushy before my first reply, I would have to say that staying on topic was already a thing of the past.
"That's impossible for me to tell so the decent thing to do would be to simply not pass judgment on the topic. Oh wait, that's exactly what you did about Britain, despite, like most Americans, clearly knowing nothing about us,"
Don't be to sure of yourself there man, you don't know me. You are our lap dog! First you were the master, now you are the servent. I'm sorry if that upsets you, and you would rather phrase it differently, but it is clear that you are a lap dog to the US to me.
"No your wrong, and i'm telling you for a fact. Most people would prefer the term 'ally' at the very least!"
Most people might, but I see you as more of the lap dog you are.
"(I see your more the type for that, jumping into this thread and contradicting everyone because you've convinced yourself we're all wrong)."
Maybe I am that type. I do see you continuing the arguement though, so your not exactly innocent yourself are you? Contradiction? Oh no, not that! That would mean someone is dissagreeing with your view. Nooooooooooooooo, that can't be, and must be stopped at once. BTW, when someone claims a lot of Americians deserve to die, they are wrong. Did you single them out to point out how wrong they were? No, you did not. That says to me that your a biased prick doing the exact thing your bitching at me for doing. I guess that would make you a hypocrite also.
"In this case, I was asked, so I replied, but i'll sleap soundly tonight knowing that you and your problems are a million miles away. Believe that if you will!"
What? Do you like live in space or something? A million miles? Do you allways exagerate like that? You know people that tend to exagerate like you do are not usualy the best sources of info.
"As if that has anything to do with the point I made."
It's called sarcasim. I guess it's a little over your head.
"I'm NOT a patriot by the way."
The way you defend your government sure does make you look like your patriotic. So when did it become a bad thing to be patriotic anyway?
"The stereotype might be that we're a peaceful, polite country that enjoys their tea but on the inside, we're just the fucking scrap yard of the world. Not that that's any of your concern so don't feel you need to comment on that."
I feel the need comment anyway. Actualy, most every person I have met from the UK has been kind of rude and confontational. If we are going to go by the ones I have met, then that means your country is not so peacefull after all. And don't even get me started on the violence of your sports.
"I'm not a worldly person and never even suggested I was."
"but the worlds a lot bigger then your country."
I see that as meaning I only see my country, and you see the world.
"I'm giving my feedback for the sake of the original topic (it's near the top of the screen if you've forgotten again) and to explain my attitude for you."
Did you say anything at all about bushy in your last post. or the post before it? Maybe it's you that has forgotten what the topic of the thread was.
"Well i'm not sure if you can have an, as you say, abuse free conversation."
Sure I can. I prefer not to though. What are you basing your judgement on? One thread? A few posts? You, as you apologized for earier, have a problem with thinking you know me.
"You were so quick to bad mouth everyone that had something negative to say about America (including myself) that it seems the theory that not all arguments have to be abusive hadn't passed you by."
Yes, I see that I was just as quick to bad mouth as the rest of the people on this thread were. Nope, it did not pass me by that this was a thread designed to create conflict. It didn't pass me by that others are just as, or more, abbusive then I am, yet you only condem me for it. Of course you feel a need to reply when you have been bad mouthed, right? I suppose you have that right. Guess what? So do I.
"A negative response isn't necessarily an insult"
And yet you are up in arms over my negitivity. What a hypocrite you turned out to be.
"I logged on and told myself i'd express my opinions (once again, for the sake of the topic) with as little a negative attitude as possible."
" you fucking dunce"
You failed yourself. Not the strongest of wills are ya?
"Did you consider that before you bounded on with all the 'oh yeah? well moan, moan, grumble, how would you know, moan, complain'."
No. I was fishing for an arguement, and you guys supplied it.
"I didn't insult America and I still havn't."
Others did. But your right, you did not and that is why I offered to be civle to you. As you turned down my offer, I can only assume you prefer an an abusive slagging match that's barely an argument.
"If you took my first post the wrong way then i'm telling you now that I had only the best intentions, if however, it's simply a case of you not being able to accept my opinion that why insult it? It's not going to change!"
A closed mind will not change. I feel sorry that your unwilling to change. It's a shame some people think they cannot be wrong. Change is not always a bad thing. If your opinion is set in stone, your mind is sealed shut. In my opinion a closed mind is a bad thing to have.
"A negative response isn't necessarily an insult, and you can't take every negative response AS an insult."
I think you may need to follow your own advise a little closer.
Toker
do you guys really smoke pot?
i cant read that much let alone write it stoned. :D
good read while my interest lasts.
yous are all very entertaining and have wonderful opinions.
Look Lib, I could argue with you all day but the fact is, I really AM out for a decent discussion. The internet might be full of pricks that like to talk big while they're safe behind they're computer screen and I know me saying stuff like 'you fucking dunce' doesn't exactly make me look like a samaritan but i'm only getting the impression that your one of those pricks. I'm not trying to prove anything to you or change your attitude or slag you down 'cause I like to do that to people, i'm just merely speaking my mind and explaining it. Your right, you have a right to be angry at people who come on these boards and say bullshit like 'Americans deserve to die' etc, my main query is I didn't actually do that so I dunno why you've started on me above most others on this thread. Others on this board have convinced me your a decent guy but what am I supposed to think when i'm explaining myself for the sake of the argument and all you can do is go 'no, no, no, wrong, wrong, wrong'.
I don't hate America (I already said that). I havn't insulted America or Americans. My original post was about Bush and I added, just for the record, that America isn't a popular country in the UK. You can't seriously say that surprised you to the extent that you had to take it as abuse and return like a tennis player? America ISN'T a popular country over here. The UK might not be a popular country over there (just a lost cause by the sound of it) but I can get over it, even if you can't.
I've done my best not to be insulting and i've expressed pretty much all my opinions on the subject (aswell as the extra ones brought up by you and others), I might have slipped up a bit while posting with a few irritation induced insults but I think you know how hard it is to keep a pleasant smile when someone throws your opinions back in your face like they don't count, simply because (and my apologies if this isn't the case), they don't agree with them.
You can highlight all the points I made in this post and have a witty, abusive contradiction to say about each one if you want, in which case I won't reply 'cause i'm only here to express and share thoughts on Bush, which I have, not argue like a little bitch about things that don't even concern me. Or you can accept the fact i'm not out to destroy you and just leave it. I accept your views that you make as an American to defend your pride, whether I agree with them or not isn't really a factor in the discussion. We're of two completely different cultures, obviously we won't like eachothers views. I'm just trying for a balanced argument and it looks like it was pretty much over long ago.
You can say you've won with a smug face if you like, but I was never competing.
Peace.
There is a reason that I replied to you. You seem to have quite a bit more intel then the others posting in this thread. I don't like playing chess with people that are too easy to beat. It's no fun for me if I win every game, so I look for the people that I think can beat me, or at least make me think about my reply. I don't do it for the reasons you might think. I do it to learn. I have learned a lot, and made some good friends doing what I do. I enjoy it, I learn from it, and it hurts no one. Most people tend to judge a book by it's cover. Don't make the mistake of doing that with me. I'm an asshole, that's for sure. Would you have bothered to talk as much with me if I wasn't an asshole and I agreed with you?Quote:

Thanks man, I need all the support I can get. I smoked for 29 years. I was up to about 2 packs a day, maybe a little more. No patch, no gum, just straight cold turkey. Not one more puff ever, I hope.
This helped me a lot.

That's cool Lib. I usually find most dickheads on the internet argue for the sake of feeling like tough shit, then you just feel like a child by simply being a part of it. I'm glad you explained your attitude with subtlety, your alright (and you obviously toke  ). Anyway, it was interesting but i'm all argued out so peace :D !Quote:

I agree! this thread was also supposed to be pointed towards our current government and it's actions. shit like "americans should die!" actually seemed to be more directed at people than the government, at which time the American people feel the need to defend themselves. My initial question was answered by a few good responses and then some "yeah he sucks and so do all of you over there." There is always some immature people that want to post with insults rather then opinions. When that one guy said "bush and SOME americans should rot in hell" he wasn't talking to you. He didn't know you. He never said that there aren't bad people in the UL or anywhere else. He was motioning sort of towards how sometimes the U.S. is seen has having bigshot pinchpocket prick liars. Like John Lay and Martha Stewart.Quote:

So is most of the stuff others posted. So what! I guess you think wishing for the death of people because of the country they live in is a positive thing. I don't mind negitive or hostile. their government works fine, they just arent as powerful as us. Don't see how that makes them unable to control their country. Letting us fuck them? No, it's pretty much rape. We would be at their throats if we didnt agree with them, like France, we have a large impact on alot of countries...Quote:

I did despise americans for awhile. only had met a few and they were all fuckwits, loud and thought their shit was golden. didnt know anyhting about anyhting that wasnt american.
we used to hassle yanks and norweigens coz it was funny to racially attack another white person. we used to joke "this is not your country" which is a line from romper stomper used against asians.never hassled any real ethnic groups. hehe, real ethnics..
anyway that was 10 years ago now.
Its great to hear all the different opinions.
Interesting how hate for another countries government can translate into hate for anyone from that country.
For all the "thats racist" etc that goes on there is really fuck all to help you understand why we hate and fear etc. Ive had to work it all out for myself.
Though i grew up in a white town (well-to-do rednecks for the most part) the different groups still hated each other. footy players, druggos, etc.
maybe im still pissed off Killabuzz shied away from our racism debate.
Well as far as Texas is concernd, U don't have to like Bush, will take him back!
Future of Texas
Please note that Texas is the only state with a legal right to secede from the Union (please refer to the Texas-American Annexation Treaty of 1848). We Texans love y'all, but we'll have to take action if Kerry wins president over Bush. We'll miss you too.
Texas has given all those complainers plenty of time to get used to the results. After seeing the whiners along the campaign route, the folks from Texas are considering taking matters into our their hands.
Here is our solution:
#1: Let John Kerry become President of the United States. (all 49 states.)
#2: George W. Bush becomes the President of the Republic of Texas. So what does Texas have to do to survive as a Republic?
1. NASA is just south of Houston, Texas. (We will control the space industry.)
2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States.
3. Defense Industry. (We have over 65% of it.) The term "Don't mess with Texas" will take on a whole new meaning.
4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. Yankee states? Sorry about that.
5. Natural Gas - Again we have all we need and it's too bad about those northern states. John Kerry will figure a way to keep them warm....
6. Computer Industry - We currently lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications: Small places like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials, Ball Semiconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Delphi, Nortel, Alcatel, Etc, Etc. The list goes on and on.
7. Health Centers - We have the largest research centers for cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world and other large health planning centers.
8. We have enough colleges to keep us going: U.T., Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, SMU, University of Houston, Baylor, UNT, Texas Women's University, etc. Ivy grows better in the south anyway.
9. We have a ready supply of workers. (Just open the border when we need some more.)
10. We have control of the paper industry, plastics, insurance, etc.
11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard. We don't have an army, but since everybody down here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an army in 24 hours if we need it. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over a couple Texas Rangers.
12. We are totally self sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables and let's not forget seafood from the gulf. And everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. Don't need any food.
This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic of Texas in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have.
Now to the rest of the United States under President Kerry:
Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Kerry will be able to drive around in his 9 mile per gallon SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes.
You won't have any TV as the Space Center in Houston will cut off your communications. You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes, but since Mr. Kerry has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas.
Signed,
The People in Texas

not so sure about that dude. NPR was interveiwing some like specailist on those topics and they said that everyone new iraq was just going to be a dictatorship again, right now all america wants to do is be able to get out.

Yep, I might be a little concieted. I am more then likely a little hypocritical also. Sometimes I can even be a little vain. So what! They are human traits we all have.
Why do you keep posting to me? Why do you put more effort into your post to me then you do others? If I am little concieted, there is a reason for it.
"That's sort of what you have been doing. If they click on your name they can read your posts."
What normaly happens by the end of the posts? Your only blind because you have your eyes closed, if you open them you will be able to see better.

It's a bitch man, but I hate the fucking things so much that I don't think I will be going back to them anytime soon, or ever. I hope not anyway. To tell ya the truth I can't believe I have went this long without even a puff. It seems like I am living a different life now. I am actualy. I do get to smell it every so often though, when someone eles is smoking. Does that count as anything? The wierdest thing has been eating in the non-smoking sections. What a trip it is to say non-smoking instead of smoking to the hostess.
Toker
Kyser, do all of you texans plan to "Keep it in the family", if you know what i mean?
I hope it doesn't go back to a dictatorship! The reason I think Bush is funny when he talks is. He always has this look on his face like he is trying to think of what to say or that he doesn't quite believe in or understand what he is saying. Then he always pauses after saying something, waits for a response from the crowd with a little nervous confused look on his face. It's like he is waiting for the crowds response to make him believe he is right in what he is saying. :)Quote:

Federally funded. You would control nothing as they would just move it.
"2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States."
Yep, and if the rest of US ain't buying it, you ain't exactly selling it are ya? As if new refinery's could not be built.
"3. Defense Industry. (We have over 65% of it.) The term "Don't mess with Texas" will take on a whole new meaning."
Again, federaly funded. The term would soon change to " don't mess with Texas 's empty factorys and warehouses". You seem to think you will just keep what you have there, and still be able to fund it. Something tells me your not thinking this through very well.
"4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. Yankee states? Sorry about that."
I hope ya can eat it also. Better not have any floods or droughts, ya know what I mean? You won't be getting any federal funding for anything, so your oil will have to cover a lot of expences. Who will you sell it to?
"5. Natural Gas - Again we have all we need and it's too bad about those northern states. John Kerry will figure a way to keep them warm.... "
I guess without the great state of Texes there just ain't no reason to be here at all. LOL! I have a natural gass well on my land in KY. Coal also. Say, do you guys have enough coal for your electric plants? It might get a little dark down there if ya don't.
"6. Computer Industry - We currently lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications: Small places like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials, Ball Semiconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Delphi, Nortel, Alcatel, Etc, Etc. Yep, and they would all up and move right out of Texas if you told them they could not trade with US. Either that, or they would soon be pushed out of buisness by their compitition from the US.
"7. Health Centers - We have the largest research centers for cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world and other large health planning centers."
So does the rest of the states, so what! I would imagine after the mass killings and expulsions in the new kingdom of Texas that most of the doctors would have fled or been asigned to the new government in some orwellion fashon. I doub't your medical care would be as good as it is now.
"8. We have enough colleges to keep us going: U.T., Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, SMU, University of Houston, Baylor, UNT, Texas Women's University, etc. Ivy grows better in the south anyway."
I wonder how many of the students and teachers would hang around for the kingdom of Texas?
"9. We have a ready supply of workers. (Just open the border when we need some more.)"
And you can solve our illegals from the south problem at the same time. Not a bad deal there.
"10. We have control of the paper industry, plastics, insurance, etc."
By god if they don't make it in Texas, it ain't made. LOL! Your control, if you even have any, would evaperate so fast you wouldn't even know what happened.
"11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard. We don't have an army, but since everybody down here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an army in 24 hours if we need it. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over a couple Texas Rangers."
Everyone has at least 6 guns? No shit? Hmmmm, that's intesresting. Raise an army in 24 hours? I'd like to see that. Bodys and guns don't make an army. Training, expirence, and control does. You would have no control over a army of rednecks called up in 24 hours packing six rifles and a pile of ammo each. It would be a joke, not an army.
"12. We are totally self sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables and let's not forget seafood from the gulf. And everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. Don't need any food."
I wonder how much federal funding your farmers and ranchers get? You may want to look into that some.
"This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic of Texas in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have."
You really should think about what your saying a little more.
"Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Kerry will be able to drive around in his 9 mile per gallon SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes."
We got a refinery right here in Denver. Oil wells here too. Kansas has the same. No problems here with needing your gas. More can be built if we needed them. How will you feed all those jobless oil workers?
"You won't have any TV as the Space Center in Houston will cut off your communications."
I sure would like to know why you think the federal government would leave anything like NASA there. It's like saying the US would leave nukes there. Yep, that's what would happen for sure, right? Who would fund it? What you don't seem to understand is that you have no way to force them to leave it there. If you break from the US, you break from everything federal. No more funding, no more anything from the feds. They will not leave you a thing. If you think Texas can be nasty to the rest of the US to try and get whatever it is you think you would get, you better think again. Your plan to be nasty would plunge your new kingdom into poverty and oppression. Your labour would rise up against the capitalist system abusing them, and socialism would take over.
"You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes, but since Mr. Kerry has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas."
We have plenty of gas without yours. Your kidding yourself if you really think Texass is that importent to the survival of the US.
"Signed,
The People in Texas"
Wow, you speak for the people of Texas? No shit? What are you like the govenor or something? I don't think you can get much support for your quest. I'd be willing to bet money that most Texans don't feel the same as you do.
