Wow Reaper i think im gonna need some sun glasse's just loooking at the picture .lol.Also have you thought about tieing some of the larger fan leaves down to get more light to diffrent bud sites .I tied almost all mine down by the end of flowering and noticed an amazing change in lower bud sites
I usually train my stems a bit, for more buds, ... so far, it has been unneccessary with this grow, these lower mounted lamps should make a big difference, the plants are saturated with light throughout their branches ... :smokin:
I kinda figured you wouldnt need to but everything counts;) .Also is there any way you could get some close ups of the bud site's?

its gloomy here for a few days, while we have a bit of rain move through ... I'll take them outside in another week, or so, for new pics ... theyre just two weeks or so into blooming, so should look a lot better in awhile ... here's another shot I made a minute ago ... Day 72, from seed ... if not for almost dying from wilt, I can only imagine where they would be by now, under healthy conditions ... :smokin:

just got out the tape measure, theyre 22", from soil to tops, about the same in diameter, 72 days since germination, and lost a LOT of growth for the first couple of weeks, due to Pythium Wilt (killed 10 out of 15 seedlings, remaining seedlings developed into 4 females, one male) only the second male plant I have gotten in many years of amateur growing ... I used 'Miracid' 30-10-10 during veg, ... then, a week before switching to flower cycle, I took away the nitrogen, and started using "Earth Juice" brand nutes: 'Bloom' 0-3-1 at every watering, 'MicroBlast' micronutrients every 2 weeks, and 'Catalyst' 2 weeks ... I have used 'SuperThrive' throughout this grow, for the first time ... I again say, I think SuperThrive is a highly hyped, highly over-rated, product, that does no harm, and if you want to use it, hey, go for it ... :smokin:
I guess those xx-xx-xx numbers are the NPK ratio´s right?Sorry about these noob questions but besides being noob i´m also not really familiar with some growing lingo eheheh (i´m Portuguese)...The thing i wanted to ask u is, u´re grwing NLights, what other seeds do u recommend for a 2x2x4 growbox, i´m asking u this because all seedbanks i´ve looked into the NL seeds were to expensive for me at this point (cause the shipping his almost as expensive as the seeds, about 30$canadian + 45$ for the seeds)....a friend of mine recommended Grapefruit seeds...have u tried them before, what do u think???.....by the way, have u got any experience on using pot on asthma patients????Cause since i´ve started smoking pot my asthma attacks were gone.

I stop nitrogen nutes a week before turning the light-cycle back to 12-13 hours ... I read somewhere that's the thing to do, so I do it ... of course, if I sensed a nitrogen deficiency beginning, I would treat it, but I've seldom needed to ... some of the other nutes it gets, has a 'trace' amount, anyway ...
Northern Lights is an indica/sativa hybrid, general balanced stone, I guess you would say ... powerful, pretty high THC content, for an almost neglected plant these days ... if somebody tacked a fancy name onto it, it would again be a top-sought-after strain ... :smokin:

my first order (with the optional $10 Fast shipping) did a turnaround to northern California in about 16 days, if I remember right ... the second order (a month ago) only took 8 days turnaround ... theyre a good bunch of people, Brad says they try to get orders out the same day they receive them ... I found them on some long-lost review of seed merchants , they had a 4-star rating, and a comment as to their friendliness and reliability ... Hey Reaper was wonduring if youd like to help with a thread in a week or two. It will be about the so called ''Secret's of Fluorescents''.LOC NAR1958 recently posted that he said his never had great results with fluorescents.But me and you have.So im goin to start a grow log with my fluorescent cab and make a journal of everything that i do to get the great results that me and you have .And just maybe we will have more newbs and people with not alot of money (not burning down there house with HIDS lol) But to give them a second choice of less expencive and way cooler lighting systems but with great results.I ask of you just to corrrect me or give advice of what not to do .Since you are the experienced grower you have way more advice than me lol.Makeing a long story short im tired of growers being scared away of fluorescents by people saying you needa get a HID. Dont get me wrong HIDS are great but not every one can afford them or afford cooling them .

BigBudDaddy, thats a great idea ... but I have to say, you have grown fatter buds than I ever have ... until now, I always had some reason that limited my growth (nosy neighbors, too many non-smoking friends popping in unexpectedly, etc...) I always wound up cutting my plants down after just a bit of bud appeared ... now, I have a legal prescription, so I can finally reap the rewards ... my plants are budding great now ... like you say, most newbies either cant or wont shell out the big bucks for the best setups, until theyve first seen some results from personal growing ... for years, I grew with only 4 flourescent bulbs, and managed to keep myself in stash ... and learned along the way what worked best, etc ... just like practicing with bagseed, its a start ... :smokin:
maybe we could do a "Budget Grow" plan for the newbies, something to get their feet wet, and limit the setup to a tight budget ... :D
here's my NL99 at Day 74, from seed ... about 2 weeks into flower ... I admit, not very impressive compared to sodiums, but Im on disability, cant afford more than I have now ... and she will smoke nice and smooth ... :smokin:

It's a 1ft wide, 2ft long cab, 2ft tall. So it isn't that big. It has a $15, 50CFM fart fan, keeps temps within check. Then, I hanged four WalMart 42watt CFL bulbs.... mylared it inside...

Hmmmm the greatness of fluorescents .Reaper your plant is looking great .That is a fact alot of newbs will not dish out the money. I think all in all my 320wtt cab costed me like 60 bucks with fans .(Hehe i had to go a little out on my fans due to my small area 2 computer fans and a turbine fan )But yes i will start researching all the products i baught and make a list of where you can get them around local stores . Also turtle your welcome to give adivce on the thread ill be starting .This will take me a week and half to put up the thread due to my seed i just planted i want to atleast have a plant a week old to show the results of certian steps i take .(I may grow 3 plants in there just to even out my female to male ratio. i dont wanna just grow one plant and turn out male then all my time would be wasted. and everyone eles time that has been following up on the thread
do you guys think we should post a "Budget Growing" here in Cabinet growing, or in "growroom setup" .. ? ... maybe keep the box, lights and fans under $100, and very limited info on nutes and extras ?? ... priority on non-confusing issues, just the basics ... Same here Reaper im always around my house due to i live 60 miles away from anybody.Yeah the grow should not be over 100$ including the nutes .Most of my nutes came from local stores found everywhere .And yes we should stick to the basics no C02 injection or any bullshit like that.Keep it so that a 10 year old could have great grow by reading the journal.And by all means id like to keep the thread here in closet section due to alot of people dont vist the Grow Room section much.

damn ... takes me back to my brand-new 1969 Chevelle SS396 ... red w/black vinyl top, white leather interior, Crane cam, 505 lift, 330 duration, Isky roller rockers, funny, I don't remember comparing gas mileage figures back then ... cheap regular for 35 cents a gallon, but had to run Sunoco 260 in the Chevelle, probably more like 50 cents a gallon :D ... it ruled the streets of Peoria for awhile ... :dance: ... and my guns ... :D ... hope I don't have a fire, the whole crib will explode ... :smokin:
Wow i would love to see pics of that car.My 67 has a 346 stroker SB with a Procharger on it.You cant even here the motor when i get on it all your hear that supercharger screaming .In 2nd gear at 35mph i can white smoke the tires .

Dont know about a good investment but 20watts isnt really ideal unless you get alot of them .I myself look at anything that containes at least 40wtts. But you may also look into the pin fluorescents also known as T12 bulbs they push out 55wtts and can get them in any spectrum .
I think you'd be better off with the CFL or 4-foot fluoro tubes, myself ... and we are discussing doing this 'beginner economy' thread with simple basics ... the additional info is available all over this websit, so that would just be repetitive, and confuse newbies ... thats the point , we want to follow the "keep it simple,stupid" methods ... by the way, that 18,000k lamp would probably be no good, not sure, but that would probably be up in the ultra-violet range, Im thinking ... :confused:

I myself use Jungle Growth it has a little ferts in it but seems to be doing very well .Tryn to get an idea of what soil i should use for the thread.(Sorry i messed up on what motor the 67 has its a 347 .numbers on my keyboard are to close lol)

Hey BigBud... NICE decision on the ProCharger... I've always considered it a WAY superior piece of equipment than a Vortex, Paxton or other ones... ATI's ProCharger is the best, IMO.

:D yeah, I sure wish I still had a few of my old cars ... $$$$ ... have to sell them, though, I couldnt keep gas in them ... :p ... as to the soil, my local nursery recommended (they know why I need it) a premium potting soil ... forgot the name, something-farms premium, is all I remember ... doesnt seem too special, but it does have a very good supply of perlite in it ... was close to neutral pH when I bought it, havent tested it since ... plants have good color, and I use ionized water ... to hell with it, it's a weed ... lol ... :smokin:
Ok i think im just gonna go with Jungle Growth because you can almost buy it at any large hardwear store,And some newbs want go out to a nursery and ask what kinda soil they need for growing pot lol.So im keeping it simple and goin with Jungle Growth unless you have doubts about this and have another brand i should get and would even be simpler to get

Well guys the noob community is waitting to get their hands in some pro advice so start typping:D :D (i surelly am)...Tks 4 the link on the bulbs TIR, and as i told u those fluros are 18000k, they are used for aquariums and plant growing (i went back to the store and read the whole specs:D ), and they put out about 2200 lumens (20w bulb), so what do u recon???do u think it might work well for veg stage????
there is already plenty of info in the FAQ section to get anyone started, etc. ... what BigBudDaddy has suggested, is a very SIMPLE low-cost plan to get newbies started, to show how easily and cheaply fluorescent lamps can grow quality product ... the more advanced info is available all over this website, and others ... read prior posts, you will see I answered your question about the aquarium light, I believe that the color temperature is way up in the ultra-violet range ... I am not positive about that, but pretty sure ... if so, it would likely kill your plants ... see, this is a good point ... when beginners are told to do something one way, or they read instructions that instruct one way, they always seem to say "well, what about ??, can I do ?? instead ?" ... there lies the problem... while there are always different ways to do everything, this will be the SIMPLE, CHEAP, Beginner Way ... your aquarium light doesn't sound right, for color temp, for wattage, for lumens, it all adds up to 'not good' (its hard to believe any 20-watt bulb puts out 2200 lumens, maybe a misprint) ... but, you can still get the right CFL or fluororescent tube lights just as cheap, that will work excellently ... its all a matter of doing your reading, following instructions, and learning from your grow as you enjoy the rewards ... :smokin:

I would suggest telling them about white plastic and flat white paint, since its so much cheaper than Mylar, and a simple wood frame, or closet walls ... I have two very good suppliers:
