WHATS THE SCARIEST MOVIE YOUVE EVER SEEN

Haven't really seen any movies that have "scared" me but there are movies that could be considered scary but because of their plots and their concept other then actually "scares".

Dead Ringers is a fucked up movie... That is one that just came to mind. It is truly fucked, but I can't think of anymore. There is alot of fucked up movies. The Shining has been mentioned... one of the best horror movies, in my opinion. Um... Night of the Hunter is a classic "scary" movie, but not with monsters and paranormal stuff. Just a scary murdering priest. Other good "scary" movies I see were mentioned are Aliens, The Thing (Remake), Silence of the Lambs and fuck yeah... another one I thought of... The Vanishing. FUCKED-UP MOVIE and a mind-bender as well. There are tons but it's rare to find a GOOD movie these days... one that's new anyway. Comedies are the only movies that are going any where in this industry because a Comedy can be as ignorant as the producer wants... the script or the directing or the acting can be as shitty as the producer wants, because as long as it's funny, it's good. Horror moves these days just aren't scary.

a word of advice to these directors out there...

keep these fuckin teen stars out of horror flicks.

Films don't have direction now. Appearntly, a films quality is now based on either sales or popularity. And with films being directionless now, movies are just being shot out of a machines back-end and marketed to these teens.

Japanese Horror movies are quite scary, especially when your high and gotta pay attention to read the sub titles as wierd ass shit goes on.

when i was little "the shining" got me shit scared, had nightmares for weeks after it hahaha

now i dont find movies scary...the shining is almost funny now...and nightmares r awsome, but theres a few movies that give you the odd heepy jeepies, n put you on the edge of ya seat. like,

yea the remake of the original, wake up, it came out like 2 years ago!

and yes i have seen the original. its classic. but it was more annoying than scary... people fuckin screamin through the whole movie. i started to hope they would all die. yet when they did die, you hardly saw a drop of blood.

no shit theres hardly any blood, thats one of the factors that made it a classic in the first place. annoying? lmao, like that scene in the remake where the sheriff tells those needlessly sobbing idiots to "get on the ground" n they dont do anything wasnt annoying?! please. obviously your only complaint of lack of blood proves u dont know shit about the horror genre. want fukkn blood bitch, go to ogrish.com bitch azz cunt

plus the original just looked better quality wise, all gritty and whatnot.

in the remake they tried to say he had a skin disease, hence the wearing of other peoples skin on his face. no no no no he was a maniac plain and simple.

and they're makin a prequel now. sheesh.

I can't remember the last time a horror movie scared me at all (I sincerely miss when they did), but horror is undoubtedly my favorite movie genre. These movies are pretty disturbing:

Cannibal Holocaust
The Evil Dead
The Shining freaked me out when I was a kid (probably my favorite Kubrick film)

They don't make 'em like they used to. :)

Yes, underground horror is a BITCH to download if you're trying to pirate it - I downloaded several versions of that one only to discover they were in other languages (Italian being one of them). Finally, a friend ripped his English version DVD and sent it to me. :p!

I HATE horror films, but when I was about 15 and just seriously getting into religion, I decided to watch The Exorcist (the 2000 edition) on my own. At 1 in the morning, with the lights off. I had nightmares for months, and when I was watching it I kept looking over my shoulder just to check that there was'nt some freaky 9 year old in pyjamas with green eyes standing behind me.
Torture for me is not cutting my bollocks off - it's having to watch The Exorcist on mushrooms.

It - Tim Curry as Pennywise always scared the hell out of me

That scared the bejeesus out of me. Actually, the whole film did. I think the worst parts were the injection/needle bits (I faint when I have an injection), and when the little girl does all the zombie groans.
