18days...added in some rocks, foil/dull side up and removed krutch. oh and i also shifted fan so its getting more flow.
hi 9ski9 yeah it all seems to work ok.wondered if anybody else has tried envirolites. i have some oasis and chronic under them too.will post some pics of um soon.
Looking MUCH better, but I would lose the reflecting hood. It traps and builds up heat and is NOT necessary.Quote:

You have a great grow space there that a lot of people would envy.
Are you using bottled water or have you checked the water PH?
Remember to let the water stand for a bit until it reaches room temperature to avoid shock, which goes for the misting water as well.
i bought a couple of gallons of purified water from the grocery store, it sits up above in the same closet along with the mist bottle.Quote:

MJ grows best with a PH around 6.8. It may sound like a hassle to check your PH, but what if the water you are giving Bonita is too acidic, for example? She'll struggle and only grow 1/3 the size of her---excuse the HDism---genetic potential.
Online or at a garden center, you can pick up a little bottle of PH tester. You simply take a small sample of the water you plan to use and put a drop of the tester in it. The water changes to a color that you then compare to a chart that comes with the kit. Mine was $6.
And I also found that brands of bottled water are pretty consistant in their PH.
If you were to use tap water, put an uncovered jug out in the sun for a day or two before testing and using on Bonita. That'll get rid of the chlorine, among other things. At least that's what I've been told.
heres Bonita at 24days. im gtransplanting next weekend...i know im not ready to flower but im trying to get set up for it, and ive been looking at HPS's but it seems expensive to get a ballast and all, so i was wondering if there was an alternative way to flower. i was thinking a few CFL's along with the 3x60watt floures that i already have. PLEASE HELP! thanks...
oh and i finally found some superthrive today, when should i start her on it? and should i use it with every watering?
looks good man
ok so just ordered this...
http://www.insidesun.com/index.php?a...=2&prevstart=0
should i keep the fours. in closet along with this system for flowering?
BUMP! help!
You could.. wouldn't really make an impact bud wise though.. they'd just be taking up space. Best use just the HPS.
gave her, her first watering with superthrive today :D im now on day 26veg. and was thinking of going till 35-40days b4 switching to 12/12. what do you guys/gals recommend?
I'm noticing constant droopage... that's not to say she hasn't come along way, but, what is your watering plan? I strongly reccomend the "Lift the pot" method for when you water.. I let my soil get pretty dry like an inch into the pot before I water
well im watering mainly from the bottom, every other day. theres an opening for watering, but you are probably right, ill give her a break from water. thanks for the input.Quote:

Let me see if I can help, I'd also like to ask if the Artisans of pot would correct me if I made a mistake.
clones = 15in
seedlings = 11-12in
the droopage is from overwatering, I did the same thing when I stated which happens to be the same time you started :D
as for the lighting you can go right when you get it.
thanks for the quick reply Kurt... wow 1ft. i figured atleast 3ft, don't HPS's get a bit hot?
UPDATE:
so heres Bonita at 32days from germ.
now growing at about 1/4" to 1/2" daily...now 9" tall. thinking of putting her into 12/12 at 12". im not looking to get a huge yeild out of this 1st grow, more for the learning experience...
her to bottom leaves (the rounded ones) have already withered and there seems to be some growth emerging where they once were, one side more then the other...looks like a new set of leaves, is this normal? i didnt bother trying to get a pic seeing that i have to macro lense and it would be a waste of time...
Hey Rekap I am also doing a CFL Closet grow mine is 29 days old from seed
just my little input to you i would bring them lights closer to her and wait a couple more weeks to 12/12 her if you bring the lights closer she will get alot
more fuller and will make more bud sites. i am using Phd water 6.5 with 1/4tsp
of Superthrive is all i use. if you want take a look at mine and see the diff with
the lights closer http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=36982
Good Luck ....
Where can i find some of that PHed water? i checked my PH today and it was about 4  how close can they be really without burning her? oh and should i be using superthrive with every watering?Quote:

Important to if your plant lives or dies ... I have them Lights 1 inch from
my plant at all times... i also have a Fan Blowing across the Top of the plant
at ALL TIMES !!! (when the lights are on)
and i use the Superthrive every time water.
And get that PH Straight or you will have a DEAD PLANT 4 is way way Low
6.5 - 7 that is where you want it
Good Luck
Hey, Rekap, Bonita is looking great. Any chance of dropping the two outside CFL's down a bit? Most of their light is being lost and she needs light down low. Those CFL's can be MUCH closer, especially without the hood.
SuperThrive is perfectly safe to use with EVERY watering. Just a couple drops per gallon.
Since you've come this far and want to maximize the learning experience, why not veg another three weeks, or so? You can let her go another week, then start tucking and tying down her fan leaves and exposing her secondaries to light. This is where her buds will form and the more light the better. Grab some white pipe cleaners from a craft store. It's easy to do and the effect of light on the secondaries is amazing; it's like removing an umbrella.
Any chance of coming up with bat guano? She'd love some high nitrogen fert right now.
She really is looking awesome.
get your lights closer and water less frequently. the water is making her droop and those cfl's can be right next to her like 2" move the 2 outsides down beside her . that way you have on light on top and a light on each side.
she's a SHE!
only 5 days into 12/12 and already showing pistols, even on the secondaries
ill get some pics up when she wakes up in the morning...although i have to macro lense but its better then nothing i guess :p
mean while ill be celebrating :D
i was thinking of tying down somme of her big fan leaves to the main stock...is this hard?
was planning on starting her on some schultz cactus juice 2-7-7 and was wondering if anyone out there can tell me how many drops per gallon and how often?
THANKS
REKAP_
couldnt help myself, took one while she was sleeping...i really want to start her on some cactus juice. can some please reply to my last question :(
Thanks.
Use 11 drops per gallon. Every other watering.
What do you mean "while she was sleeping"?
Don't be taking pics when it's her dark time. :)
here she is fully awake :p
day6 flowering.
Hello Rekap :) it's really nice to see how she has come on since you first posted that pic of her in the window sill ;)
She's looking good all bushy and healthly :)
Sorry I can't tell you anything about the "Cactus juice" ? ............I haven't a clue :o
love mand xxx :)
thanks a lot mand :p
Tying down is very simple...and Bonita could really use it. Just gently pull back the fan leaves on each level and gently tuck and tie them down. I used a piece of coat hanger wire and bent each end, then attached it to the pot, across the top of the dirt. That gives you an anchor to tie the pipe cleaners to. It should take just a few minutes.
Getting light on those secondaries will make a huge difference in yield.
Here's a quick pic of a freshly tied plant...
thanks 9, i think ill give it a try in the morning...pipe cleaner? im not really following what that is...
Remember from elementary school? They are about 10" long pieces of wire with a fuzzy coating and a lot of teachers use them for craft projects. They are meant for cleaning pipes and, well, tying down pot leaves.
thanks 9 for the detail... if i remember right you used cactus juice for flowering...how often did you water with it?
Lemme think...I'm at Day 68 of flowering...I repotted just after switching (I should have repotted two days before going to flower). I used good new soil, so I could have waited up to three weeks before the first nute in flower, but gave a VERY diluted shot of cactus juice around flower day 7.
Then it was 1/2 strength Cactus Juice every other watering (they get 2 liters every third day, so it was 1/2 strength nutes every 6 days). I've read that Schultz Cactus Juice is recommended at full strength once a week, but it burns pretty easy and I've only used it at 1/2 strength.
Flower Day 56 was the last nute they got. So they were fed during flower 7 times.
I think I did okay with this. The last of the remaining fan leaves are just now being used up for their nutrients and the trichs are 25% clear and 75% cloudy, so they should be finishing in a week or so.
