how do you defend weed when it comes to long term effects??????
hmmm well then i guess long term effects of weed usage differs from person to person..... but of course that means nothing to a parent, and i cant blame my dad. it just kills me inside that he caught me again.... because my dad being raised strict and in india makes him feel more like a failure than he already does. WHY DOES HE HAVE TO PUT UP WITH ME??? hopefully.... he will forget these days.... but i can only fear the reality that i could get caught by the police, which is the 2nd out of 2 reasons he doesnt want me doing it.... it would literally KILL him.

i dont care bout long terms effects. are u aware of the long term effects of cellular? computer? mcdonalds? eating too fast? not enough exercise? not enough calcium? microwave? music too loud in cd player?
there are so many fuckin long term effects.
u have 2 solutions:
-u almost dont live and decide to do all what is "good for you"
or
-u decide to do what u want coz this will make happy and coz u like it, even if u may end up with a damn cancer at 80 years old.
choice is yours

how do you defend weed when it comes to long term effects??????
did anyone know that we have THC receptors that we are born with in our brains....now why would "god" make us humans with those receptors if the only way to get them working is by putting THC in your system...why would "god" grow weed for us to smoke with thc receptors in our brains that cause creativivty..but not want us to smoke the fucking plant? the only thing that has thc in it is weed..so he obbiusly wanted it smoked by us..

how do you defend weed when it comes to long term effects??????
YOUR all talking about your personal experiance, that what it boils down to. i failed school because of smoking weed, it effected me badly in the long run. TRUE. just because it didnt do this to you, doesnt mean it cant happen to others, and dont just say thats an excuse, because i would have failed from the start in this case.
AND to Lizka, some people dont get high the first few times they smoke, because the recepters need time to develope. they arent natural for everyone. and its not a particular "THC receptor" its not like our minds our programmed to get high. its just the way that it triggers a certain way the brain is made.

Your information source is bogus. Brown... pughaughhhhh!
Come on buddy, that is the home of the cross on the skull and cross bones. These guys want you with their program.
Fuck those idiots, dont you get it? 4000 years and nothing bad. Look that report is full of flags. Know what a flag is? "maybe" "could lead" "may be shown" all full of shit words to tell you they have no evidence. Look at where the information comes from. A university funded study, who funded? US government money. What will the finding be? If it wants to be published I mean? Start looking for a real fact. Cannabis can kill when 3 joints are drilled into a monkey brain with a fork. That is a fact. Not, studies have found that more monkeys like pot and have more dreams than monkeys that dont have as much pot. Did you know that there are no studies funded that use real pot? Find one license issued by the DEA. What are they using for these studies? Parents report cards?
The problem you have is you THINK you have to answer to it. You dont. Think about this:
The only evidence presented to the Congress in the 30's to show medical damage that cannabis causes was that a synthetic that was injected into the brain of the monkey killed it. Well, that is enough for me, how about you?
Well, since synthetic cannabis was not found until the 80s one would wonder what they injected that monkey with (he wasnt always an evil monkey you know). and further wonder how anything could live after a nice brain injection.
How can one, or even should one answer to lies and innuendo. May cause is bullshit. Maybe it wont. Fuck you. Maybe my hand will get hairs from visiting the bathroom too long too?
Another great bubbler is recent UK press how demented jazz musicians are more easily addicted to cannabis. At least now my jazz friends know why they are demented. They thought it was natural. It is just amazing the crap. Tell your parents to post something to me at Cannabis Farmer, I will take anything apart for you or them.
Bastards try to bully people into giving up freedoms.

You have problems bud. You are talking about your own failures. I look at my bud, I ask it. Did you fail? It does not answer. How can a thing MAKE a human fail. You did it dude. Take the fall.
Others can differ. But you took the easy way out. You had a choice. So screw off with the prostylizing.
And what dupe shit are you passing here bucko with the THC Receptor. You obviously are some propaganda failure. Go back to your boss and tell him you did not get the program. Those NATURAL receptors are waiting for the herb, they need nothing to "develop" other than some sperm and an egg. What a dork.

how do you defend weed when it comes to long term effects??????
I smoke weed about once a week during the school year (much more often during the summer) and I'm one of the top students in my class (this is a private school too). I have a 4.0 while taking all honors/AP classes. In fact, by the time I graduate, I'll have taken nine AP tests, four of which I have already passed (top score on two.) I say this not in a bragging way but to show that people who smoke weed can do very well for themselves. A lot of kids from my school smoke occasionally (it's more of a drinking school, really), yet that doesn't stop us from being one of the top private schools in the country.
It's all about balancing work and fun. I've been smoking nearly every day this summer because I want to let loose before entering another highly challenging schoolyear. Weed really motivates me, both in the short term (I work really hard during the week so that I can reward myself on the weekend) and in the long run (I want to go to Princeton and make a shitload of money so I can buy all the weed I want). You might find that it's really not that hard to keep a mild habit instead of a serious one if you have something occupying the majority of your time (in my case, homework and extracurricular stuff). This way, I can accomplish what I set my sights on, have a pretty low tolerance, and retain sort of a balanced lifestyle all while still enjoying weed.
Oh and if you get really good grades you can work wonders against anti-drug bitches, because you have concrete proof that a pothead is smarter and more successful than they are. You can both fight against stereotypes and avoid suspicion (no one expects an overachiever to be a stoner)

Someone who smokes marijuana regularly can have many of the same respiratory problems as cigarette smokers. Persistent coughing, symptoms of bronchitis and more frequent chest colds are possible symptoms.
Marijuana smokers are not at risk of developing emphysema because marijuana smoke does not affect the small airways in the lungs as tobacco smoke does. Marijuana smokers do have a slightly higher risk for developing treatable lung infections. (I believe 16% greater.)
Quote:
There are over 400 chemicals that have been found in marijuana smoke. Benzyprene, a known human carcinogen, is present in marijuana smoke. Regardless of the THC content, the amount of tar inhaled by marijuana smokers and the level of carbon monoxide are 3 to 5 times higher than in cigarette smoke. This is most likely due to inhaling marijuana more deeply, holding the smoke in the lungs and because marijuana smoke is unfiltered.
Coffee contains over 800 chemicals, including several carcinogens. There is no medical literature linking marijuana and cancer. Evidence suggests that lung cancer in smokers of tobacco may actually be the result of radioactive elements present in the smoke such as Polonium 210 and lead 210. Marijuana smoke is not radioactive. Filtration is not the issue, smokers of 'light/low tar' cigarettes are at the same risk of developing cancer because the filter does little to prevent the smoker from inhaling the polonium 210. Also note that marijuana smokers in general inhale much less volume of smoke compared to tobacco smokers.

Recent research shows that regular marijuana use compromises the ability to learn and to remember information by impairing the ability to focus, sustain, and shift attention. One study also found that long-term use reduces the ability to organize and integrate complex information.
No shit?
Quote:
In addition, marijuana impairs short-term memory and decreases motivation to accomplish tasks, even after the high is over. In one study, even small doses impaired the ability to recall words from a list seen 20 minutes earlier.
I was never worried about pot fucking with my 'ability to learn'. My state issues a standardized test to all students bi-yearly until sophmore year as a requirement for graduation, my scores all hit the 'advanced' areas. PSAT/SAT scores also decent as far as I am concerned. Critical Reading scores better than 50% of the students the test was administered to, if you can read critically you can 'learn' just fine. I would like to see just how much marijauna 'impaired' these people and what the control factors were.

so ya the day of ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Skills) I came to school burping smoke and scored above 90% in all grades except math which was 81%
what these percents mean is that i scored higher than that percent of the people who took the test. So this leaves me to believe i can do w/e i want and people who want me to not smoke majijuana
can eat shit and die..
im also high right now

Okay, maybe I didn't mention those studies were done using joints and human test subjects.
If you want proof of that, you're gonna have to go find it because I haven't seen my notes in a long time, but maybe I'll find them just for you.
The 30's and the de-legalization of pot isn't even a subject that our current minds in legislation should ever see eye-to-eye with, yet they have no idea of the 'healing power of cannabis' and they ignore the fact that pot can, not only, ease and relax, but cure our society.
If the United States had a bake-off before Hurricane Katrina, and everyone smoked herb, clogging up our atmosphere with pot smoke, then the storm wouldn't have been able to come onshore and would've been deflected off back to Cuba, then they would all puff, deflect it off to Bermuda, and you know they don't give a shit, and the next thing you know the storm is only affecting the shipping lanes in the Atlantic Ocean. Sounds good, right?

Are there long-term consequences to smoking marijuana?
Respiratory problems
Someone who smokes marijuana regularly can have many of the same respiratory problems as cigarette smokers. Persistent coughing, symptoms of bronchitis and more frequent chest colds are possible symptoms. There are over 400 chemicals that have been found in marijuana smoke. No shit, its supposed to do most of that shit to you when you're on it! Its a drug. But the point is that it has VERY FEW long term effects, all those studies are biased by the fact they they only show what happens when doing it, or shortly after doing it. Besides the lung damage 99% of the effects are gone after just 47 days (in rheuses monkeys (spelling was prolly all fucked up)) But yeah i forgot what i was talking about cause im stoned and i m not going to re-read all that shit i just typed, so im gonna go now.
Id also just like to say that i think i type a whole lot better and faster when im stoned, i guess it just goes to show you weed helps with everything!

how do you defend weed when it comes to long term effects??????
very few scientific studies have actually been published that elucidate the long term effects of exclusive marijuana smoking on the lungs. Of what little legitimate research has been done, it has shown that it doesn't cause tar buildup (the assumed catalyst for tobacco related cancer), but makes the inside of your lungs lose their cilia (little hairs) and makes them more like your outer skin.
Other than that, neurological effects range from the non-detrimental (larger blood vessels in your brain) to the downright enjoyable (permanent relaxation caused by synchronized alpha brain waves in the frontal lobes).
You shouldn't trust any information about the effects of smoking on the internet, because, surprisingly often, they just state urban legends as fact (low sperm count=myth). If you have resources available, like a university or decent city library, you should research these things from sources that are proven to be non-biased and purely scientifically based.

how do you defend weed when it comes to long term effects??????
Right, it's impossible not to take risks. If nobody ever took any risk, nobody would die. For every death that occurs, in theory it could have been avoided if the person took a different course of actions during their life, but eventually something gets everyone. Life is a sexually transmitted disease with a 100% fatality rate.
As Bill Hicks put it:
Quote:
I have something to tell you non-smokers, and this is for you and you only, because I know for a fact that you don't know this. And I feel it's my duty to pass on information at all times, so that we can all learn, evolve, and get the fuck off this planet. Non-smokers, this is for you and you only, ready? Non-smokers die every day. Sleep tight. See, I know you entertain some kind of eternal life fantasy because you do not smoke cigarettes. May I be the first to pop that little fucking bubble of yours, and send you hurtling back to the truth? You're dead too. Have a good evening.

how do you defend weed when it comes to long term effects??????
but alcohol causes the same adverse effects but much more magnifyed and hangs with one far longer. after 35 years of steady, near daily toking i can only ask...what was the question again?
no, just kidding...but there are no adverse effects that can't be solved by laying off or stopping...or by exercising your brain! the short term memory lapses can be worked around by simple concentration...sure it takes practice but once one learns how to focus it's not hard. many of you are fairly new to the scene and are easily distracted but once you learn how to use your heads and focus where it's needed it'll get easier to be high yet function well mentally.
-
how do you defend weed when it comes to long term effects??????
All you have to do is take brokes. Smoke a day. Then dont do it four a couple of days. your lungs will repair them selves and if you practice concentration skills on Math problems and other things you wont lose an ounce of ability to learn. I take all AP and honors courses and have an above 4.0 GPA, but i smoke once a week during the school year, and almsot everyday during the summer.
Get Profane Motherfucker in here. Hes smart as hell and is studying for some degree in Math apparently. He says he smokes everyday too. He'll tell you where its at.

if this has been said already my bad but the way i think about it is...if tobacco kills people, drinking kills people...and to my knowledge no one has died from marijuana use....then why is it worse than ciggarettes and drinking?....
Plus, i think i u smoke like once a week...you'll be ok.
You only live one life...might as well live it being high.

O.K. I kinda skipped through the thread, but I wanna butt in, Dardfire,if it bother's u that bad, don't do it.Weed is nothing compared to alcohol. It is impossible to O.D. on it,and it has more medicinal value's to it than u can shake a stick at.Put ur chin up an look at some more studies.YOu can learn alot from all the positive research done, and yes there are some studies out there that lie.Personally I am a junky, herione and cocaine addict,as well as an alcoholic,so for me the decision is simple, smoke weed.Do I woory about longterm effects? No,cause I may not see tommorrow, use your best judgement for u.The question isn't wether or not u should defend it to ur dad.The Question is are u mature enough to be using it and why?Answer those question urself, and u may very well be on the road to self respect.Peace.
