fuck that pompass asshole, i hate yemgwie (sp) or whatever his name is. Look i can play 3,000 notes per second. steavie ray vaughn, zack wyld, both guys from slayer, alix lifson, alex scholnic<from testement, the late great dimbag, i have been playing since i was 15, and the first time i herd seek and destroy by metallica!
i love satriani, malmsteem, michael angelo, george bellas... many, sooo many good guitarists in this world!
Bradley Nowell(RIP)

omar rodriguez...i just love frantic dissonant/math-ish guitar playing.
52 posts and no one mentions Michael Schenker or Robin Trower.
Admittedly, Schenker ain't hot these days cause he's too old to play
like the blistering virtuoso he was back in the 70s and early 80s.
But his recordings are timeless. Check out Force It or Strangers In The Night by UFO.
Robin Trower can still tear it up--but his game ain't shred, it's sustain & harmonics, bluesy acid rock...pure stoner zones...check out his best album Bridge of Sighs.
And no one will ever blow your mind greater than Steve Vai.
He makes it look very easy...and yet also impossible...
You won't believe your eyes or ears...
I don't like everything he's done...but check out his album Passion & Warfare or try to find the mp3 entitled Blues Improv. It was recorded in 1999 for Guitar Player Magazine. You'll drop to your knees.

and I agree on Steve Vai
I picked up guitar world a while ago, and I saw the tabs for 3 songs, and I was like holy shit
and as for old skool, the guitarist from Sabbath, totally forgot his name, the guy that lost his fingers..., and hendrix
black Sabbath guitarist is tony iommi it was some sports injury to his right hand that made him switch to playing left handed which makes some of his chords unique
there ya go, I couldn't think of the name
but I heard he lost two finger because of his last day at work, he was using one of the machines and he put his hand in the wrong place and cut both his fingers clean off
Gilmour
i agree with you on those, i wanna hear the music they made together, plus hammett is gonna appear on santana's next cd. im also a huge fan of clark dumae(of rufio, listen to the 1986 cd) and john frusciante.Quote:

buckethead? I'll admit that he's a great player, but he never seems to inspire me.
And as a name that hasn't come up: Robert Fripp
flea red hot chili peppers...cmon that guy is just a riot to watch
he might be a decent guitar player... of course I've only seen him play the bass.Quote:

phil collen from def leppard....
Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom all the way but the guys in avenged sevenfold are good too. and its cool because theres one lefty so they can play back to back soo hot lol
I'm a "guitar freak" and to name the best one would be hard because the ones I love all sound different in their own way.
I guess the best for me to do would say who I've been listening to at the present time.
I've been listening to my old Alice in Chains CD's lately...Jerry Cantrell is so damn underrated. He's a talent man!
I could go on forever talking about all my favorite guitar players.....
John Frusciante and Omar Rodriguez are both great.
the song is awesome its called trinityQuote:
