maybe you think you have to vote for one of two evil cousins in the same mafia like secret society...but i don't think i have to, and i try as often as i can not to.
Neither of our two parties holds my "values" either! I've been reading quite a bit on different parties and find myself leaning more towards the Libertarian party. From here out, believe me, my vote is going in a proper direction like ORIGINALLY intended or I won't vote!

shutup..just shutup and listen to yourself.
before you think you're all merriam-webster how about you acknowledge that officially before the u.s. bombed japan it was regarded that a jap-sino war at that time was unwinnable.
the chinese had little advanced weaponry or vehicles but they had another weapon...the human wave. it was just like the korean war. nobody won, nobody lost. it was a standoff. the goal wasnt to win, it was to gain territory. japan wanted to advance further and china didnt want to lose any more positioning.
if you think for one minute that you dont at least owe a small iota of respect or a hat tip to the chinese forces of ww2 then you're pathetic. bullets were deflected from american AND canadian troops and other chinese troops died in their place.
and you actually have the balls to sit there with your gay cock-sucking cum-wiping big-grinned emoticon every couple sentences to gloat with glee about how america won the war ALLLLLLLLL by herself.
all hail assholery.

This leads us back to the mccollum memo which stated that with rising powers of Germany and Italy in the Atlantic, we could not afford to let Great Britain crumble or the Japaneese to grow much more in the Pacific theater! We were on a two front war also, but we had Great Britain and Russia as EXISTING allies still in tact. Not to mention freedom fighters throughout the Asian counties that were already invaded by the Japaneese.
so germany lost the war because their army was stretched too thin? why that sounds an awful lot like how american forces are spread thinly in iraq and afghanistan. bush wouldnt dare call for a draft and it ISNT because he "doesnt need them yet" or the army "has enough" it's because it's political suicide.
and you were probably one of the people who thought it was all fine and dandy after all.
all hail mental retardation.

israel: condoned by the u.s. and placed in its current position to destabilise arabs against jews. yeh, noone saw that coming.
and your voting against two evils bullshit really has me questioning if existence is real. it has to be made up. you're trying to tell me your perception of how your country is supposedly run is so weak that you think you HAVE to choose between two idiots you dont like? you HAVE to support this...you HAVE to support that?
that's it i'm going back to mars...earth is too weird.
all hail idiocy.
If my country is at war, the kid down the block is in the military, my kid, friend, whatever...Hell yes I'll support my country! Does that mean I have a great love for GW, hell no!
You basically listed three countries..ALL DIRTY! I stated this before, I believe the President should get on TV and state the the Middle East that our Israel policy is shit. From here on out the is NO economic or military aid from us! In return we expect an end to all hostilities and HONEST pricing at the pumps. The oil price highjacking on us is done!
Back to the mccollum memo. You mentioned Israel. Why do you really think peole like Henry Ford, Prescott Bush, etc...agreed with Hitlers philosophy? They just acted like extreemists about it.

ha! you dont bother to use the brain you were born with sometimes and it shows. if you arent willing to use it then what's the point? your vote wont count as anything other than a tally. you'll just bend over and take it right up the arse if you live in the 21'st century and believe that roosevelt knew NOTHING about the impending doom of thousands of people stationed in hawaii.
if you can't be counted on anything other than a silent voice then who needs you. noone that cares about consequences and definitely not the elite.
dont worry, i'll plant fresh flowers for you at the memorial when they have a rememberance day for all those that died in the american concentration camps.
let's roll.

LOL...Damn Nic, getting so riled! So I shouldn't have a "silent voice" and should vote the two party system? Isn't this something your always preaching against? How should have the vote gone? Kerry? DAMN!!!
Roosevelt probably did know that there was going to be a strike but at which location where we had bases? Peril Harbor was a VERY bold move on the Japaneese part...way not expected!

all hail ignorance.

Once again it was a very simple question! I stated that from now on I vote for someone that follows my values or I don't vote because they don't have the same beliefs. You came back with this:
"if you can't be counted on anything other than a silent voice then who needs you. noone that cares about consequences and definitely not the elite. "
I asked, nicely I may add :D , if you would have voted for Kerry?
Here I'll make it easy!
NIC, WOULD HAVE YOU VOTED FOR BUSH OR KERRY??? ONE OR THE OTHER, NO SILENT VOTE! :D

Well, I guess poor ol' Nic got caught up in his own rhetoric.
All Hail Hypocrisy

Boy, I have a degree in history, but I've learned so much tonight on this thread that I never knew. I'm not sure how much of it would be approved to be included in a textbook, but you both are extremely persuasive and believe strongly in something. That is a good thing. I'd rather confront a man or woman who has the guts to tell you straight up, face to face, what they believe in, rather than the millions of gutless people who just sit on their hands and let others do their thinking for them.
One thing to always consider, whether you believe your country is 100% right in it's actions or not.....quite often in discussions like this one, things turn rapidly into justifications and interpretations rather than expression of facts. It's hard to divorce oneself from your own personal views on a subject as serious as war. So we tend to be somewhat defensive and aggressive at the same time.
The numerous items you have encouraged others to read from obviously invoked different interpretations from you both. That's pretty much the normal reaction when you have people viewing it from a different perspective. I have a good friend who has moved to Scotland within the past few months. He tells me constantly how difficult it is there because he feels verbally attacked very often, and is forced to either condemn his own country's government, or defend it. Most of us think there are good aspects to what our government does, and bad aspects of it as well. Just like with any situation where someone else makes "rules" for the whole, the rules will hurt some and help others. The trick is to become one of the rulemakers.
Luckily, we have the opportunity to voice our discontentment with our government through voting, protests, letter writing, blogs, forums, etc. I realize that this does very little, if anything, to change the situation, but it seems to satisfy some people to "think" they are making a difference by expressing themselves. With the internet now, it's become so incredibly easy to voice our unhappiness with virtually any and every subject.
Our country has for far too long used the term "war" when labelling areas we need to address. We have the war on drugs (which I would guess everyone on this message board disagrees with and thinks is failing miserably), war on illiteracy, war on poverty, war on AIDS, war on crime, war on children giving birth to children, etc. I sure wish we could stop using the violent analogy and idiology of "war" when treatment, assistance, compassion, concern, and action would be much more likely to help find some solutions, rather than allienating millions of people.
Just remember, the founding fathers of the U.S. didn't agree on much at the Constitutional Convention. It was a daily course of name calling, back stabbing, and back-room dealing. We tend to think today that they were all in favor of the Constitution we currently have. Not so. Not at all. The men we think of as working in unity to create our country at times were very hateful and violent towards each other. Kinda like how threads turn out sometimes when people begin to defend or denounce the actions of others.
I hope I don't offend anyone, or that my reply was so long that anyone had more than one birthday while reading it. :D
