The reckoning.....
well looks like you still came out ok when do they start budding out around there ?
Usually middle to end of july, but this year it's a bit late probably due to the late start. Hope they're still done in reasonable time.
ah it must start to frost pretty early?Quote:

Going to do some supporting out there and definitely some neem oil as that purple-gray fungus is causing a problem, fairly small, but it's pissing me off. Peace out.

Time for an update. Hurricane Irene wreaked havoc in the garden, knocking down all my plants and splitting the afghani into 3 pieces. The continued rain and lack of sunlight has led to fairly small buds, bud rot, and a lot of what I call purple rot which you can see in the last pic.

On the bright side though, I found two seeds from the uber resinous afghani I grew out last year and managed to flower them out(1 male, 1 female) in my closet for some seeds. I'm changing locations next year and I'm pretty excited about the 2012 growing season. Now I just have to decide on which strains to grow, SO HARD HAHA, you know what they say, if it doesn't work out, try try again. Will give some pics from this years harvest in a few weeks. All in all I'm still pretty happy just to be harvesting something and it's more than I'll smoke in a year, but I smoke less than an ounce a year. Peace.
WOW, I ended up with a lot more than I expected. I have nothing but positive reviews for snakebite by leprechaun seeds, the buds are dense, resinous, and huge, was surprised how much of a difference that last week made and they finished nice and early for being planted so late. Took a hit of the scissor hash from her and had to lay down on the couch hehe. Only down side is I am NERVOUS AS FUCK, I've got neighbors all around me and my apartment smells like a jamaican hillside. I've been trimming 12 hours today and I'm beat, will post some pics at some point, just been busy with all this.
sounds like things have gone good for you bro im glad my big girl will get the chop on oct 9th so 1 more week i cant wait haha cait wait to see pics and smoke report.
Well, both the UBC Chemo and the Snakebite were spectacular, especially taking into account the horrible conditions they were put through. Both, but especially the snakebite, were too strong for my preferance, definite one hitter quitters. If I had to choose a winner it's the snakebite hands down, the buds were bigger, denser, stronger hitting, I'd love to see what it could do with a full season and better weather. I had fresh nugs that were as big and solid as two fists on top of each other and plenty of them. The only words of caution is look out for mold cuz they grow really dense and I lost an ounce to cobweb mold, had to actually cut the buds off the stems to speed dry to keep the rot at bay, but that was from all the rain more than anything else. The flavor was nice and minty and they'll taste better after a month or two in jars. Came out with 15.5 ozs which is plenty for me to smoke for the year. Potency-wise they were both worthy of medical use. I took a medium hit of the snakebite and had to lay down. Well, I hope you all enjoyed the log. Peace and happy harvests!
Hey awesome thread, looks like you know what you're doing! Damn shame about the weather. I've started late this season too, so your results give me some hope, thanks for sharing :)
