That is awesome!:)

it doesnt have do be spray eaven just a white sealing painty.best thing..
ill upload some pictures for you later tho show ecsacly how do make cheap lamp sheds..they probaly dont cost you nothing..max 5dollars..

Thought these pictures might help you get some ideas.
This reflector is made from a power-strip, a piece of metal ducting, and some hardware.
Total price was just under ten bucks. :thumbsup: (That price does not include the bulbs or y-splitters.)
.
Very nice tikiroom :)Quote:

Then put the plant in a corner and lower your lights below the cardboard as this will help reflect light. And you have splitters and CFL's already, so $7.00 at any hardware or wally will give you one of the lights i used. Perfect for one plant, but could add side lighting later in the grow. Just go in my log to see the pics, which will help you understand what i mean about keeping your light tight.Quote:
I appreciate you advice on the lighting and am trying to save up to re-arrange my setup. I know it's not safe:mad::(:wtf: but I spent over $120 on that setup (Sadly!) and I am not able to change it right now.
I got myself some spray paint and need to find myself some cardboard to make myself something to put over my lights to reflects some of the lumens back.
Duct tape is a growers friend, it can help ya in ways other methods might not for a fast fix. I will look for the light Shake made out of card board and duct tape. Served him well:hippy:with nice grows.
Its not hard to go behind some big ass store and take card board. Look behind one that sells TV's or freezers or something, but im sure if ya ask any store they would give it to ya. Tell em your moving:thumbsup:
Id bet your leaves are yellow because you water way to much. Plus id bet your root bound so re pot asap. When you water it will activate the ferts in the soil, so your over feeding it. You should let it get almost bone dry before watering and this will help the fert burn. I would only water 2x a week at the most and take that try out from under your plant. The water should run free through the plant and with that tray under there you will get root rot. Never use these.
Thats great man, because reading is important, it also helps to ask questions that people understand. Im here to help as much as i can bro:thumbsup:and the best will get you a nice grow.Quote:
umm... What else?.... I'm still doing reading..both online and one these forums :D
Once again...I really appreciate you're help and do hope you stay to guide me, watch me or just to stop by along my grow :)
-I am trying my best :hippy:
You only need around 7-8 bucks to buy the hook light and get the smaller one as the bigger one will not hold 4 CFL's. Maybe take your splitters with you to see if they will fit. The bigger hook lights hood doesnt let you pull it up to get all 4 of the CFL's in your splitters, it will only fit two CFL's.Quote:
^Stuff in Canada seems to be more expensive than in the US :mad::mad: but what can you really do right? If money wasn't an issue do you really think I would have used duct tape LOL:stoned:
If you do these things, which are very low cost, you might get that oz your wanting. Just add card board, hook light, maybe ask around for some flat white paint in someone's garage, we have all seen paint in peoples garage, lol.
But your first thing is to stop watering so much. When the soil drys out, the roots get great oxygen, which helps your plant grow. If you have a bunch of mucky soil all wet at the bottom of your pot, it will stop growing.
Sorry but first thing is to re pot, today! Many things can become a pot, just make sure there are lots of holes in the bottom for drainage without the tray under it. I have a''how to'' re pot in my Sig that will help with re potting without any stress to your plant. Works great, but ya gotta let her dry out first, but you will see it in the thread.
I will be back, but id jump on the re pot and slow down the watering and your on track. See how easy this hobby is:jointsmile:it gets more easy each grow man, just dont get in a rush. It takes time, but the reward is unbelievable:jointsmile::cool:
Any questions, just ask, but here. No one can help ya if your hopping all over the site. I know it seems like forever some times to get a response, but im here at least once a day or so and im subscribed so il see your posts.
Keep er green bro:rasta:
yeah i agree with LSY do what he says read and ask questions, have some patience and things will come together
also dont count your chickens before they hatch as a first time grower think positive but dont get your hopes up as to yield just hope to have a successful grow then worry about improving
@LSY
Really appreciate it and thanks for subbing :thumbsup:
I just got a way bigger Clay pot (it's cheaper than the other pots LOL)
I will replant tomorrow at night...just letting the soil dry out a bit more and won't be able to do it today.
I found some white ceiling paint in my garage so I might use that over the other I had got.... Within the next two days everything should hopefully be setup :)
You wrote A LOTT so it's going to take me a bit to digest all of that LOL. I already read it three different times and I keep finding something new in all of that :stoned:
The hook lights I will look into around stores near me and see how that works
Thanks
@Tikiroom
Nice pics! That's a really good idea... I may try that or the hook lights.... Going to check out what works for me.
.................................................. .................................................. .....
Yield wise I am not expecting a big/huge yield simply because it is my first time after all and there are a few things I could have done better like my soil, timing of transplanting, timing of watering etc BUT on the plus side, the more You do it the More you LEARN! :jointsmile::)
:hippy:
I concur! great stuff there, I am always keeping my eye on this to make my notes for down the line, I can't wait!
^ Sure thing! Glad that you drop by ;):)
Just thought I'd give a quick verbal update...
Will be transplanting in a few hours into a significantly larger pot.
I got some Flat White Ceiling Paint and did one coat on some cardboard... will do a second coat once the first one dry's a little bit more.
Will also post some more pics :thumbsup:...later tonight once the lights go on.
Plant seems a bit more droopy right now (last time I checked- when lights were on) but the transplant should hopefully solve that.
I just had a bit of things on my mind...
->>Would I be able to just transplant into the same (miracle grow) soil again? Or would it be still too much nutes in it already? What if I was to take out some of the nutes in the soil(the pearl balls) by hand?...or would that be wayy to much work?
The white bits in the soil are perlite, a form of volcanic rock that both promotes drainage but also holds water. The nutes are fine particulate in the soil. Best to just start with something fresh.
^I know what perlite is:thumbsup:.. I also add a little bit more into the MG soil even though it already has some...
I was referring to white little pearl like balls that have the nutes in them.... They open up with the water and release the nutrients.
I will be transplanting verrrryyy soon and putting up some pics- lights turn on sooon :D:jointsmile:
:hippy:
Andd.. that's probably what I will do... just use the fresh MG as is with a little extra perlite. =) I never knew where perlite came from though - interesting!
UPDATEE! :stoned:
Here are some pic...
1.I transplanted - In Miracle Grow Soil(3-mnth auto release) and had to add a little bit of scotts (6-month auto release) soil because I was short:(
2.I also watered - about 2 and 1/2 Liters of water and then I ran out of the good water I am using LOL..too many shortages :( but I'll water some more tomorrow or I will wait until this watering dry's and then go and water again.
3. Also made a reflector hood :D (Got some cardboard and did TWO Coats of Flat White Ceiling Paint)
What do you think?:thumbsup::jointsmile:
:hippy:
Pics Belowww =P - Also took some close ups of where the pistils are forming :)
andd a few more pics :jointsmile:
ahh there they are, as promised, still looking good! :thumbsup:
I cant wait to see the finished product, I'm here with you buddy!
I really hope you re potted while your lights were on? Also do not give water till your plant is dry. Period. Or you will activate the ferts in that soil and burn the shit out of your plant. Only give water and less is more!Quote:

At the same time you are sticking your finger down into the soil, you will think it need water, in less your finger is 12'' long. So you over water and over fert at the same time, not to mention that roots that are in water all the time get no air. Plus its a good way to get root rot.
No water today. I would wait till you pick up the pot and feel how heavy it is after you water. Then in 4 days pick up the pot, feel how heavy it is. Plants like to dry out at times, but your keeping your soil wet, could be the reason your plant is not growing like you think it should be. ex. Last year i was getting my seeds popped and ready for my outdoor go round. Well i didn't add perlite so when i transplanted them to bigger pots, i found they had their roots in mucky wet soil that would had killed them if i had not caught them in time. Lose the trays from under your pots man. If i can find the pic of what they looked like before i fixed them, il post it.
And reason i wrote so much is because thats what was needed. Found paint in the garage and a bigger pot, cool. Plus the hood you made looks ok, but if ya can, try and move it closer to the lights so it will reflect the light. And surround your plant with the painted card board to give more to your plant.
What did your roots look like, did they smell bad?
Il be back in a bit:rasta:

And the cardboard i was talking about is to surround your plant. Painted flat white will reflect light to your plant. The more you keep your grow area tight, the more the light will reflect back to your plant and the mo light, the mo better:thumbsup:
:rasta:
@LSY
Thanks for the reply.
I'll get some more cardboard soon an put it around 3 sides of the plants (side where air comes from i'll leave open.)
I'm just afraid that the card board can catch on fire from the CFL's... CAN IT? if not then i'll glady move the "reflector" down some more. (I will maybe be changing the setup soon) If not then at least I'll try to make myself something similar to what Tiki has - looks awesome.
I found a pic online - THIS IS NOT MY ACTUAL PLANT!! but my roots looked similar to this. NOT white but similar the the rest of the roots you see in the pic below... Once again that is NOT an actual pic of my plant!:)
And nothing seemed to smell "bad"... the smell was fine if any was really there. I don't really notice much of a smell other than what the girl actually smells like :thumbsup:
What should I put under my plant then if I take out that tray? I can't really leave it on the bare hardwood because the run-off water might ruin it. Any ideas for what type of thing I should put under the pot?...a towel?
And I will not water it for a while until it seems dry to me.
:hippy::jointsmile:
Good it doesnt smell or the bottom roots could have been rotted. I use under pads or puppy pads, you might potty train a dog with. But news paper or anything that will not keep run off water in it. Maybe put rocks in those trays to raise the plant above the bottom of the tray. And dont water with them under your plant, even if you gotta water it in your sink and let sit awhile or till there is no run off from under the plant. Then put on top of the rocks so it will not pull water from the tray.Quote:

Okay, So I lowered the reflector hood.
Replaced the tin with newspaper.
Am just waiting to get some more card board and will build a "box" around my area :)
I normally have my fan or revolving option and on medium speed:jointsmile:

I keep mine on 24-7. And its not going to raise your bill that much at all. I would keep it on low all the time. Leave it on low all the time:hippy:Quote:

And does bud grow at every place there are pistils?
:hippy::jointsmile:
Hey guys... I'm at roughly day 47 of flowering...
The seed bag said 8 weeks of flowering before harvest (8weeks - 7days a week=56days approx.)
Is it now time to flush? (I never really used nutes because I have been struggling with stupid nute burn from what ever the soil is giving already.
And about how much I see on the plant - is that about what the final amount will be?
...Just eye-balling it ...doesn't look like very much at all =( - How come people on other grow logs in these forums have plants that are sooooo "FULL"?
I'll try to get a pic or two up tonight
Here's where I'm at :jointsmile:
Is this pretty much what my final yield will be?
Should I flush soon or not at all?
Why is the plant drooping?... watered 3 or 4 days ago ...but still a little moist
How much does nute burn(on the leaves i can see..) effect bud production?(Is it positive or netgative)
Should I cut off some of the fan leaves to let light to the lower buds?
Not done yet by my guess.
How long has it been in flower?
My best guess would be it's got about 2 more weeks, but that's a guess.
If you've been using extra nutes, start flushing now and if it finishes off earlier your still set.
it's drooping?
Depends on the severity, what I'm seeing in the pics is pretty much normal for most of the strains I've got going.
There's different schools of thought on trimming fan leaves. One say's yes, cut em off to let light down to lower buds. the other, and the one I'm a member of says NO don't cut them off, they are providing the food for the plant. Plants NEED their leaves for photosynthesis.
Looks pretty good tho, you'll get some fair smoke from it for sure! :jointsmile:
Pic is my last harvest,... you can see the tips of the leaves are getting pretty burned,.... so I don't think you've got anything to worry about.;)
Oh WOWW!!!! That's awesome. I wish mines was half as good as that...I'm guessing experience plays a huge part of that huh?:thumbsup:
I'm at day 47 of FLOWER (+ 1month of veg before that) and it said to flower for 8weeks (Which is 56days) so I only have 9 more days left? Or I should leave it for longer? (Don't have a magnifine glass and will be going by looking at the color of most of the pistils..as they get older they turn brown'ish color)
I'm only nutes the plant got was from the soil and it had nute burn all it's life almost... so should I flush? And would that cause even more nute burn?
Thanks mate
:jointsmile::hippy:
The reason for the growth is the lighting. I have heard that CFL grows usually take a little longer to mature.
Oh! Okay then.. guess it would be fine leaving it a week or a bit more longer than what was on the bag....
That was all I could afford at the time, maybe next time around if I'm lucky I can get a HPS or something similar.
:jointsmile::hippy:
..And it should grow quite a bit more right? ...would raising the cfls help it "stretch" a bit higher? or would that be a bad idea?
Hey guys, been a while since I posted on daaa logggg
According to the package I should be harvesting in 2 days...
What I have learned from here :thumbsup: ... I'll give it another 4 or 5 days or so.
I watered the girl around 2 days ago and was thinking about flushing now, since I am "technically" using nutes (in soil) BUT soil isn't exactly dry.... :(
-Water wise ...silly question considering how far along I am buttt I thought I would ask just for the assurance.
Can I use the water from my shower/bathtub? And room temperature water? or cold or warm? I have been using filtered water from my fridge - but it pours out cold and I normally leave it in a bucket in my room(that's closed..the bucket :P) There is no way I can get that much water (to flush with) from the fridge filter tap. Or someone have another suggestion?
I'm almost at the end of the road! :D
After this I will probably do a lot more reading/reflecting and UPGRADING :thumbsup: LOL
And possibly another more independent/organized g-log
Thanks for those that sat and watched/helped so far
:jointsmile::hippy:
Triping...when harvesting so... Manicuring?!:stoned:
When harvesting what part do I cut?
And do I also trip OFF the pistils that are sticking out?
Any tips appreciated!
