@ Lynhal; I couldn't help myself on that previous post. I've been wanting to do that for a long long time! ;)
Sorry 'bout your laptop, but glad I made ya laff.
@TikiRoom; Nice Avatar bro!:thumbsup:
Yeah, did the apple, and the toilet paper roll. ..but don't tell no one.
Went hiking in '86, up Anthony's Nose. (seriously, its a mountain on the appalachian trail in New York.) And when we got to the top we realized we didn't have any papers. So I broke off a piece of 6" aluminum tubing from my backpack frame. I rubbed it on a sharp boulder untill I got a hole in the side of it about ½" from one end. We packed some killer bud in the hole, and using one end as a carburetor we had our impromtu McGyver pipe.
The damn thing worked great!:joint1:
I used to go on the Appalachian here in Jersey a lot. Wawayanda Mtn, and off of various trail heads in Vernon and Wantage NJ. Not backpacking trips though, but there are a few shelters and have met backpackers on the trail.Quote:

But I think my favorite was near West Point NY. We used to hike to the top of Storm King Mtn, which was only about a ½ mile walk, and when we got to the top it overlooked a broad expance of the Hudson River and we would crank the tunes, toke some good skunky budz, and fire up some Sabretts on the coals.
We would hang out there all day and come down around midnite drunker than hell!
Hell back then we weren't your typical lightweight hikers by no means, we didnt pack shit like raisins and crackers, hell no! we packed London Broils and cases of beer!
Cool, speaking of Storm King, used to be acquainted with the guy that runs the Art Center but this going back some years. Most of what I have done around the Appalachian trails were usually grab the bag and papers and lets go type of things. Any serious hikes I've done were out west, Montana, Wyoming, Cali, Colorado, etcetc :)Quote:

Hey have ya ever been to "Rampart Range" between Denver and Colorado Springs? I used to love 4-wheelin' and camping there. Its on the front range, but once you get on the ridge part of it the western views are spectacular! Did some camping/hiking near Leadville at Turquoise lake too.
I lived most of my life in England and east of the Mississippi, but one day about 13 years ago I threw a dart at a map and it stuck near Denver, so I went there. I had a blast out west!
How I ended up here I have no idea!
hmm, I think I was much further north when I was in Colorado, near the Red Feather Lakes Poudre River area. Almost up in Wyoming. I had been in Colorado hiking about a month earlier than that but had just acquired a large amount of Northern Lights so it is a bit hazy where I was LOLQuote:

Coolest rainbows I have seen were around Grinnell Glacier in Montana. They make arches over mountain peaks, and connect mountain peaks together and the like, pretty neat stuff. Got caught in several downpours around that area, and by downpour I mean the air turned into water, rained so hard we couldn't do anything but laugh hysterically and scream like madmen/madwomen.. But afterwards saw some pretty cool rainbows..
edit: think my license is revoked in Montana :D
Found an example online
That's my home state, I was born in Great Falls. Moved away when I was 1 year old though so only know it from driving through. That's some beautiful country too. I'd love to see those rainbows. That picture is awesome! :thumbsup:Quote:

I maybe have to go through my Yellowstone and other pictures to share. I love nature shots and being out in nature in the wilds and mountains. On horseback!!! Done it many, many times. :D
Great shot red.
Ahh Horseback!! We used to skip school and go to a horse pasture. We would bring rope or string and we would tie it to the horse's bottom jaw like the Native Americans did and ride bareback all day. yeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaa!
man, are we hijackin' this thread or what? :D
Naughty little Highjackers! (not pointing a finger in anyones direction.)

As you all probably know, there is a post on here on another thread that has someone that needs to be banned.
("Moving to SanteFe")
Now what gets me is; This guy is still here! Where are the Mods?
We have some excellent Mods and usually they spot trouble before it gets out of hand. But the Mods seem to be nowhere to be found.
Another thing I have noticed is that a lot of other members arent coming around as often either. Atleast not logging in. Not sure if this has anything to do with anything, but I have been mulling my suspicions around for the last couple of days. I dont want to seem overly paranoid, but I cant help wondering if something is up.
I used to moderate and admin a couple of websites/forums a few years ago, and in all of them I had access to every members ip addresses. Whenever we had an issue with a member, it was really easy to do an ip search to find that persons location and other info. Some sites listed their ip in their profile, and also showed "guest" ip's.
Other sites you could only see when the person in question was logged on.
However, it was easy for a member to dodge this by using "Hide my IP" or a proxy server. (Mozilla Firefox has an app called FoxyProxy that I use to hide my ip.) Incidently, hiding your online status in your profile page doesnt really hide you.
I looked at some other MJ forums and one inparticular has a "Sticky" about internet security relating to our hobby. I might be wrong, but I dont recall us having anything like that at all on this site. Good common sence is a general rule of thumb, but I think we need to have a security section with info on proxy servers, and do's and don'ts concerning webpage security.
It is a good habit to always consider the possibility of LEO logged into this site at any given time.
We are getting too many posts from too many people looking for a hookup. This is bad in two way's.
First it attracts LEO to our site, and Second it could actually be LEO. Ya just never know.
Have ya ever noticed these "hookup" posts are usually close to each other when you use the "today's posts" feature?
I have also noticed that we get alot of posts coming from the same area/state/country all at once too.
If someone is overly too friendly, and they are new to the site, I cant help but raise my suspicions.
Most members that only produce or consume small quantities for personal use are usually safe, as Leo aint gonna spend money to go after everyone. But anyone that speaks of growing larger quantities for resale might want to be careful, but I'm sure most of you all realize that.
My intentions are not by any means to scare people away, just be aware, and be careful. Especially since we are unsure of the mods whereabouts these days.
I try to warn people when I see something that just isn't flying with me. I try to point things out maybe that I shouldn't if Big Brother is at the helm steering this ship.Quote:

Trying to seek relief from a bout with insomnia, I decided to snoop around the members list. If you check out the known mods ... look in on their statistics and notice their last log in date/post. :wtf: Although, there has been some really bad weather in areas our mods reside. Power outages, internet losses, snow up to the eyeballs etc.
Let us all hope this is the case and everything will be back to normal soon.
Yup, and they all build up on same principles.Quote:

And yes I was so stupid by trying to help those. I'm not doing it anymore.:sorry1:
Here another one:
This thread started by administration to mark "thread hijackers" :D
I haven't seen any of the old ZIGZAG yellow wheat rolling papers in years. What about that, Boys and girls?:upsidedow
I've had posts removed for far less than what that creep is/was doing. Thanks for the FoxyProxy advise. Had no idea it was available. Just downloaded and waiting to restart. The only reason I haven't been posting lately is because I haven't had anything pertinent to say. But, since someone (you know who you are:D) asked me to post more often since they like Herby the Walking Leaf, or Tokey (he goes by either name) maybe I will. If I ever have anything important to say that is.Quote:
