Going smoothly and the leaves on plant B are starting to fade to yellow just as they should.
Enjoy:smokin:
Hey everyone, thanks for following along. Everything is going very smooth still and I am planning the next grow now. I am looking for some suggestions on strains to use. I plan to order some seeds from Attitude here soon. I have some strains in mind but I would like some input on others? I am interested in the "put me on my ass" strains. The strains that can put a veteran smoker on their ass.:smokin: I'd of course like a big yeild but the potency is much more important to me. Let me know what you think is worth the time to grow. Thanks!!!
Will be the same exact setup but vegging will be reduced to 35 days from sprout to avoid too much over-growth. The grow area will not be expanded any larger and I am going to attempt 8-12 plants,,,, (maybe SOG/SCROG).
Coming up on the 5th week of flower and no signs of any troubles:thumbsup:
Just had to tie up 2 of the tops.
Picture 2 is the top of the Skunk/Haze and is 18"in long and as fat as a pop can already.:D:smokin:
I see you had to give it some support it is so chunky! Excellent job. Will be checking in on you. :thumbsup:Quote:

Borrowed this picture from another person (thanks) to show what development looks like:smokin: The trichomes on my girls are much fuller and happier looking than this picture but its just an example:thumbsup:
Couldn't put of the trimming any longer. These leaves just had to go:thumbsup: This is the only time you will see me cut my ladies during growth...Cant wait to hack em good for though:D
They may not like it for a few days, but once you've relieved them of those leaves taking up too much energy to try to keep them going ... they'll put much more energy into the fruiting. Great call on your part to remove them IMHO.
Wow. I have never done this before, I always think..."If I only removed those big leaves the flowers would get so much more light. But then I think, "It would take so much energy for those plants to heal themselves if take big leaves off" Always been a little worried but,I guess no guts no glory.Quote:

I'm very to tempted to try it.
For me personally, it does wonders for my plants. I have gone without pruning before but found the end yield to be so much poorer and the buds weren't nearly as snowy, dense and compact. So, I have stayed true to pruning a few times during their lifetimes.
On youtube type a search for marijuana pruning or better yet, do one for arjan greenhouse seeds ... he and his partners are, IMHO, the best of the best of the Dutch growers with numerous Cannabis Cup winners and placers under their belts and have been generously sharing their secrets for growing premium strains for years.
I always say if you have to learn something try to learn from the best! :stoned:
The ONLY time I will do any trimming is under the conditions I showed above...I have done the same thing to a couple of other plants (3 of the same strain) before but the none of the leaves were yellowing. I wanted to see if there were any difference. I found growth development to slow down when trimming pefectly health green leaves during flowering. I also noticed flower development to be less dense. Now, the only trimming I do is during flower when the leaves are yellow and I only do it once or twice at most. I also do not do any trimming or prunning during veg but I do like to play around with fimming and topping.:thumbsup:Quote:

I leave all the fans on until they get really yellow, and for the most part they fall off if I give them the slightest downward pressure near the stalk.
Once the plant has started to yellow a leaf it's not costing energy, just circulation. There's lots of nutes tied up in the leaf, so the plant is pulling the nutes out of the leaf before discarding it. I read a post just after I joined discussing pruning all the big fans when you start flushing for this exact reason.
Nice lookin buds BTW! :thumbsup:Quote:

Realy digg the purple hue in all your pics:thumbsup:
I will never cut green leaves again. I learned this the hard way with an outdoor crop that I tried to keep thin looking by prunning a lot. Needless to say, that was not smart at all and I will never do it again.Quote:

I have noticed that the healing process is much faster when a leaf is cut instead of pulled down and snapped off the main stalk it grows from. Some works better for others though:thumbsup:.....I honestly try not to trim at all but if the leaves are dead, then they're dead and need to go. No need to have the plant working on repairing something that cannot be repaired.
I have never tried to remove all the fan leaves during the flush but it does sound like a good idea and makes sense. The plant is dieing anyways....Why not force the rest of the goodies that are still in the plant directly to the flowers? I think I may try that out:thumbsup:
That's funny...I was thinking the same thing:jointsmile: I had to tie up another top this morning and I was laughing as I was doing it.Quote:

Trichome development is great. I have started to flush the Skunk/Haze with Blueberry Final Flush since I'm noticing cloudy trichs. I am looking to harvest this plant when the trichomes are all-mostly cloudy for the cerebral high. Looking to get couch lock out of the Skunk.
great looking plants! how many watts of CFL are you throwing at them total?
670 total watts. That is the actual wattage being used by my electric.Quote:

Not sure how I forgot to mention this but I broke down the total usage of power and what it cost to run my CFL grow. I won't get all technical and share my OCD with you:D, so here it is simple.
Vegging 18/6 runs $23 a month
Flowering 12/12 runs $18 a month
Not bad if you ask me:thumbsup:
