Today there was a huge leak in my garage right next to my sauna...it got water on my ballast and the circuit break i use to connect some things. It was still running when I noticed the leak and didnt seem to be affected, but just in case I turned everything off besides the fans (I added another fan from my drying room in) which are hooked up to a higher/dry plug. Put the ballast and circuit breaker inside the sauna and hoping the fans will dry it quickly.

So I woke up to go into my garage and check on my girls today and I heard a loud sound of pouring water. I looked right next to my sauna and there was a huge leak coming from my garage ceiling right next to my ballast and circuit breaker. They both got pretty wet, but they didnt stop running at any point. Just to be safe I turned off the breaker and ballast, and took my fan from my drying room into the sauna and focused it directly on the breaker and ballast. Let that run for about an hour and they were totally dry, I started running it again and there hasnt been a problem. Disaster averted. :)
I also bought some garden yarn to tie down my girls, I took out all of the fishing line and replaced it with the yarn. Theyre much happier now Im sure! Thanks for that advice canniwhatsis!!! :thumbsup:
It's been a crazy day...I almost pooped my pants when I saw my ballast with water all over it. :wtf: haha
Heres pics of some of the mess...first one is my ballast getting dried by my fan, and the other is the circuit breaker doing the same.
Oh ya, and because of the leak and all they lost about an hour of light today. Is that going to be a big deal? Any possible setbacks? :(

Sweet! Im just gonna let them be for a while and watch em skyrocket! Today was their water (no nutes) day and i gave them quite a bit extra to spur them on! Weather is getting dry again so even if I gave them too much CA weather will dry it up! Gotta love it! :)Quote:

Notice the size of her stalk, very much larger the my others. Because of the thickness of her branchs I wasnt able to lst this as much. Didnt want to stress her out.

Just wanted to comment on your leaf curl because I had/have the exact same thing. My temps were perfect but my 1k was too close and the light was just to much for them, problem for me was I couldn't raise my lights(at roof)...so i lowered my plants instead...it helped for the most part, but I had the curl for so long some didn't go back. I got it late in flowering but if you had to have it, veg would probably be the best time I imagine.
Did it go away for you when you raised the lights?or are the leafs that were curled still curled? how is the new growth? regular or curled?
I enjoy following a LST grow.
Most of the leaves that were curled have gone back to normal, probably about three or four that are still a bit curled, but nothing severe. It's better than it used to be, and I moved my light farther away a couple days ago.Quote:

Lookin good there man. She's a beauty. Way bushier than any of my LA conf's. I'm hoping they'll fill out more in about a week maybe a week and a half cuz that's when im going to switch to flower. Im willing to wait to get her to optimal size for flowering tho! :DQuote:

Hey everyone, my plants are looking pretty bushy and five of them have definitely recovered well from the stress and are growing fast! My biggest grower is the one in the back row on the far right, she has shot up and im looking forward to some fat colas on her. :stoned:
I do have one issue tho that I'm concerned about, and thats my front row middle girl...I believe I bent her a bit too far. Not sure what to do, or even if i did so i have a pic. You guys tell me what you think. I cut one of the lines for LST to relieve pressure on that point where it bent and hopefully it will recover.
The possibly bent one is the first pic...the rest are just pics of the rest of my beauties! :jointsmile:

Also, in my schedule i had this thursday marked as the day i switch to flowering...cuz thats exactly a month of veg. Im wondering if i should possibly give it some more time? Maybe another week? What do you guys think?

That bent stem will be just fine. :jointsmile:
What you basically did was supercropped that stem. It will develop a knot at the bend, and some say it will be stronger too.

Oh ok gotchya. Nah I have some space, but Im LST'ing to increase my yield. Giving the sides of the plants more light. Not sure what im expecting yield wise, but im just trying to top my first grow (2 ounces :() lol but hey i figure if you get any yield your first try it's not bad. :thumbsup:
Youll do just fine G. That bend will mend and be alright. These things take alot of shit with out skippin=g a beat. How else is one to learn without triing? I did alot of things that I shouldnt have but thats how people learn. Oh, and yea...If you can, wait a lil before switching the lights. You have the room so why not let them go even longer:D Youll be happier I think....
I see; the style of growing your going for requires topping, becaseu right now you only have one main steam, theri are no sides of the plant you have just one stalk or one main cola, the side branching are on that one cola. To do a LST in a scrog setting or much like tomatoe vines with an even cannope, you need to top , this makes more branching to give you those extra budding sites, and give you more yeilds. one cola will be bigger in the end but more colas will be smaller and give you more yeilds, not to mention when you grow one main cola most underneith may look nice, but they did not get the same light the colas did so your product goes down a little, more so with tall plants where the buds at the bottom have lost light intensity. With a scrog setting you have the entire cannoppe even so the light distributes evenly over the cannopee giveing every bud equal light and giving you a more premium and optimal harvest.Quote:

Hey guys, havent updated for a while been crazy during the holidays. TAO!!! (wonder if anyone knows what that is?) Anyways, my girls are looking amazing. Theyre total bushes and have some huge stems coming off the side growth.
My one question that Ive been asking myself is...should I switch them to flower as they are now (youll see in pics). Or, should I LST them some more and the give them a couple days to recover from the stress and then switch to flower? What do you guys think?
Oh ya, and I added mylar to my door. I have some more that I havent put up yet, it's gonna go up soon.

So I decided that I was going to LST them some more, which I did...and add the rest of the mylar. Then Ill probably give them 2-4 days to recover and gain some new growth before I switch to flowering. So ETA to flowering is between the fourth and the sixth. I'll decide exactly depending on how they recover!
Man, there were so many branches to LST it was so much fun! I tried to make the canopy as even as possible. I think I did a pretty good job. LMK what you guys think! :jointsmile:

Having some more problems with leaf edges curling. It's only on one of my plants. It went away for about 2 weeks, but now it's back. Moved my light up about half a foot maybe a bit more, Im assuming it's light stress again. Just wanted to see what you guys think.
Other than that they seem to be loving life. Might flip to flowering tomorrow! :thumbsup:

Hey guys, just got back from switching my timer to 12/12 and starting flowering! :thumbsup: Plants are looking great and today I just decided to flip the switch. Im really excited to see these babies bud! :jointsmile:
So in total I gave them 33 days to veg, and now may the flowering begin!

I am also on my 2nd grow and I also have headbands. One of mine is curling just like yours! It seems that my conditions are also not heat or light related as its cold, and Im using a 105w cfl.
You might see if less water helps. The bible says that issue could be the plants attempting to transpire all the time.
Mine have been dry, and seemingly well cared for and I also have curl!? Might be a genetic thing....

Well only one of my headbands is curling...all the other plants aren't affected by it. Which is why I have no clue what it is. I moved the light about half a foot away a couple days ago and no changes. Im stumped...was hoping for some advice from more experienced grower, but havent' solved this one yet. :(Quote:

Hey everyone, it's day 10 of flower and all my girls are looking strong. A few blemishes here and there mostly from the oscilating fan, but fixed that with rotation. There are definitely some signs of flowers coming in. A lot of big branches that I cant wait to fill out with flowers! I also watered with a full dose of Big Bloom yesterday. :thumbsup:
