Oprah's got balls!
almost makes me want to laugh... 'cept it's not at all funny, durn it :(
A friend gifted me with a Trainwreck clone. Had planned to start my indoor grow with that, but instead I put it in the space where Oprah was. What the heck. It will produce something, or else I'll dig it up and move it later...
What I really wanted to share with you: more pics of Angelina. She is such an amazon. She's obviously indica, but there is nothing dense about her. She's big and beautiful and she knows it. Whoever bred this strain must be so proud...
Very nice Grandma:thumbsup: Ill put up some more pics here soon as I want them to get a lil bigger:weedpoke:
Have a great day folks:rastasmoke:
Looks like Oprah is a "hermie".
If Oprah is a hermie, you might want to get rid of those lil balls and leave the hairs for nugs, altho it might not be great.:wtf:
oops, just saw that you got rid of Oprah. I have a hermie in a pot that is quite healthy and I will just move him/her to a spot way away from my other girls. I piched all the tops off that had the balls and left the rest...I'm curious if I can get it to be mostly female. I do know that if it makes seeds, they will likely be hermie except I ruined the plant by top pinching too soon so who knows?Quote:

I'm so grateful that my Angelina, the last of the three that I started from seed, is so definitely female. The two clones are doing just fine, too. Dolly bushed out some from doing a bit of LST with her. The third, a Trainwreck clone, went from 16 oz solo cup into the ground, and instantly started flowering. I fimmed her when she went into the dirt, too. Am hoping that I can dig these little ones up and reveg them later; that will be an adventure! And very, very soon I need to cut clones....
Here are some pics taken this afternoon. The first four are Angelina, the last is Dolly.
Well you could take a few clones from the TW and veg them inside. Then flower them over winter and then re veg these as trying to dig them up will be almost impossible. The biggest strongest man couldn't even try to pull the stem out of the ground, there are so many roots. So getting clones would be a better plan as this way you have enough time to clone, veg, flower and harvest with still enough time to get them re potted and put back into veg before next year. Plus never running out in between.Quote:

I only mentioned digging up the Trainwreck because it just went into the ground a couple weeks ago, so I don't figure that the roots will have a whole lot of time to spread. But yes, when I get brave enough to take cuttings, I'll definitely take some from it, too, if I can. There's not a lot of vegetation there, but I'll give it a try. :)
Well i tried for the first time just recently and 1 out of 3 made it, but soon i will be able to clone the clone. I will let it get a couple feet then take enough clones to fill my room, veg them for a month and they will bud in 2 or 3 months. Then do it again, this way you keep yourself in meds and save on seeds, plus growing clones are much faster. Like irydyum's last grow only took 2 months and got 290 grams! Cloning iv now understand is the key to having a great garden. I got some Root Tone for 6 bucks and will last a year.Quote:

Growing with clones sounds very promising... but I've heard mixed reports about potency and plant size & vigor after being cloned repeated times. I guess that's why many growers keep a mother plant to harvest clones from.Quote:

Cloning allows you to find a strain that blows your mind, and keep the same exact genetics forever! People seem to get intimidated by cloning buts its very easy if done correctly.
Awesome! Thank you for that feedback, dru! I'm really looking forward to learning this new art.... :thumbsup:Quote:

these girls are just lovin' to do their thang... even when it involves bondage! LOL :smokin:
The first three photos are of Angelina. That's a camp stool in the first pic. Wanted to give you a sense of what the whole bush looks like. She would probably be over 6' tall by now, if we hadn't been tying her down. Trying to get her to not peek over the fence!
Fourth photo is Dolly, my first clone. Actually, the pic is only one of Dolly's branches. She's been doing some LST yoga, too, and winds around between a tomato plant and Angelina. She seems pretty durn happy to be that way, too!
Last is a pic of the Trainwreck clone that went into the dirt and almost instantly started flowering. Wants to be like the big girls, haha...
looking very good keep it up :thumbsup::jointsmile:
thank you, thank you :woohoo: and now they've just gotten a nice bit of rain, something rare in these dry southwest high desert parts ... glad i didn't water for very long this evening
ah i wish we could get some rain haha
ok, I know not that much has changed, but I'm experimenting a little with my photos. so here are a couple from today. a couple pics of Angelina's buds, then the last one shows A. from a slightly different angle. That's Dolly at the bottom left. Even if Dolly hadn't been LST'd, she wouldn't come up to Angelina's knees... ;)
Looks great Granny:thumbsup: Your doing something right, keep it up. Youll be very happy:hippy:
I am blown away by the way my girls' buds have bulked up in the past week. I thought I was looking at another 4 to 6 weeks of flowering, but now I'm starting to wonder. Time will tell, of course. ;)
Photos -- first little Trainwreck, who came to me as a clone and starting flowering the minute she went into the ground. I fim'd her, and she liked it. :) Second pic is Angelina, then a couple closeups of her buds. Last is one branch of Dolly.
Purrdy.....Love the colors.
good job...
plants are looking nice.
Thanks for stopping by, Stomper and Deming... comments always appreciated! We had another wonderful slow steady rain for a couple hours last night, and the colas seem like they doubled again in size.
This is such a fun ride... :D
those look great! hope mine come out as good! how much darkness do they get?
how much darkness? hmm... I guess there's a little more every night. I dunno what the exact amount is on any particular night. Google it, if you must know! :D
I checked out my girls this evening. Just about got my fingers stuck together, looking at Tiny Trainwreck. Here's a couple pics of her.
I s'pose little Trainwreck wouldn't seem so tiny if she weren't sharing garden space with the Amazon Queen Angelina. She's fixin' to lose a cola or two, the way she keeps trying to poke them up over the fence...
Here's a few different aspects. Enjoy :upsidedow
Deserthealer:
you sure do have a nice grow going. Well done
Here are some photo's of my legal plants. This is my first grow ever, and I used tomato plants to hide them, that was until the overtook the tomato's and started to shade them out. Still trying believe its legal, and pinching myself to make sure its not just a dream. :D
I got your message, and put you on my friends list but I'm not sure how that part of the forum works.
Willie
Thanks for kind words, willie. Your plants look mighty fine, too. Have to laugh at how yes, indeedy, that herb outgrew the tomato plant. :D The two seem to like living side by side in my garden, too.
But the other problem with using tomatos to "hide" cannabis is that the tomato plant is done several weeks before the bud ... at least where I live ... So I'm just saying you might want to bear in mind that's going to happen. ;)
You are sure right about that. The plants were started late in the season, I got my grow license 5-12-10, and the seeds were started 5-13-10. I am just now getting over my acute paranoia thanks to you and Blackhash.Quote:

Are you going to the DOH meeting 9-30-10? I am going, it should be very interesting, and the good news that we may gain access to quality seeds.
Next year I will not be hiding the plants behind tomato's, and plan on planting flowers and herbs to discourage pests. The only hiding will be from public view.
Its great typing to you, take care
Willie
I would love to go to the meeting in Santa Fe on Sept 30th... but it's so damn far from Las Cruces. If anyone from here wants to car pool, I'd be into it.
I'm up for a carpool from Portales/Clovis area, if anyone is interested.

The girls are getting chubby...in a totally good way. :)
Here's a couple pics; first two are Angelina, then two of the little Trainwreck. Oh, she is so close. Whaddaya think?

There are definitely amber trichomes. I had gotten one of those little Radio Shack scopes...which none of you guys happened to mention is a bear to get used to using, btw
Is this a common condition, this turning brown where the buds rub against one another? Or more likely a bug living in there?
Had trouble getting the camera to focus the way I thought it should. Here are several pics of the same bud. Tried to pull the buds apart enough to show where the brown parts are ...
...um... photos won't load. maybe tomorrow night, if I get to it earlier...
snip a very, very small bud leaf sample...and put it on a white paper plate for viewing...:thumbsup:Quote:

Darn it, STILL can't upload pictures. I'll keep trying ... this is something new to me, so I think it's kinda interesting. Might be useful info for somebody else, too ...
Still can't upload photos to this thread, but got them into an album: bug damage? The order of the pics is backwards, too, but I've messed with it enough!
So anyways.... I wondered if this occurence with dense buds is common? Seems like you'd have to dig around in every cola, checking them for critters and nasties. I'm not crazy about the idea of bringing creepy crawlies into the house come harvest time, either! Damn stoned caterpillars............
hey there desert. was looking at your log, lookin very good. i dont know where ure from but if its been raining alot it could be bud rott.
one of my 5 outside got rained on very hard here in washington and i noticed the rott, let it go for about 3 days more, and didnt get very much bud. It took over almost my whole plant.
just tryed to upload pics of mine but didnt work either... hmmm
